Thank you for clearing up my confusion about step 2. I could not understand the directions. How are these pieces suppose to exist in the same place. Thanks again.
If that was your first time watching Enterprise, I'm jealous! I watched it when it first aired and loved it, still do. You should pick up the Enterprise bluray sets, the wealth of behind the scenes interviews on them is amazing. I do an Enterprise bluray re-watch almost once a year.
Nice kit. Great job. I work at a hobby warehouse and we carry just about every kit from every company including Polar Lights and I always wondered how these kits were. I build mostly Tamiya, Bandai, Revell Germany ect. but when I pull orders for customers who want these plus Mobeus kits and I never knew how they are molded and how well they go together so thanks for this post.
Great work as always Chris!!! One of these days I'll buy/build one of these babies... That was an excellent show!!! Voyager, turned out to be really good as well... I'm still partial to ST ToS however...
I thought I was the only one that did that with the instructions. I also put what I'm painting color codes.I never thought of silly putty! I'll have to try it . Great build. It's refreshing to see you build something different. How about some armor? You rock!
Thanks Richard! If you visit my home page on here you can scroll through my videos. I' do everything from figure kits, gaming figures, to sci-fi, fantasy, armor, planes, jets, boats, ships, etc.
Beautiful job. I have this model and I'm going to light it. And after having much thought during my 3 hours of hand drilling 33 windows, (not all of them lol) I started to think about the aztec. And I've done some calculations and honestly for a 1:1000 scale, you wouldn't see the aztec. I'm an authentic type of duplicator, if you think about it, 1:1000 scale the ship in real life is 2296 feet from tip to tip, so in a sense if you roughly divide that and place your view of the ship 1143 feet away and there are clips in the show at about that distance wherein on the show you can't see the aztec panels you can see panel lines somewhat, but not the aztec. So, I'm not going to do them because no matter how close you get to a 1:1000 scale model you will always be 1143 feet away. In short it all comes down to what we enjoy doing and the thought we have as scale model builders. To each their own, if you will. Open to thoughts on this of course, but I'm not doing aztec as I don't believe you'd see them on that size model. Wish I had a 350 size then I'd do it. And it would be easier to light, but after 33 years of doing models and lighting them, I always enjoy a good challenge. I do thank you for the post Sir!
I don't mean this as an insult, Chris, but it's astounding that you can create items of such delicate beauty with those thick digits of yours. Truth be told, with ultimate irony, I could be a hand model in comparison, yet I'm a clumsy oaf When I was a kid, I use to buy and build plastic car model kits, and they would invariably turn out to be gluey messes. I'd be ready to throw them in the garbage when my brother, the every resourceful one trying to convince me that I wasn't utterly useless, would take my models, partially melt and crumble them to use as wrecks in his panorama of a race track Fortunately for me, I eventually discovered that my strength is in abstract and theoretical math A true story; nobody could make this stuff up
I found a Star Wars kit a my local Goodwill for a few bucks. It is all chrome model. Not the greatest model by any means but I wanted to build it. I removed all the chrome and I wanted to know if you new what color I should paint it?
Question, have you had issues with Mark Fit on these models? because the people at my local hobby shop were worried that it would be too strong and might damage the model because its not a Tamiya model.
The kit I bought had an oopsie, it includes two of the clear plastic molds that have parts 101 on it, but is missing the other clear plastic mold, what do I do?!
I just got this ship a little while ago I can't wait to assemble it. I just need to figure out the lighting. I wanted it for years but this ship price goes up like crazy between releases. If my local shop had two I would have two.
@@hpiguy I'm getting back into model building and spray cans would make it a lot easier. What you are doing has a nice gloss to it. I like the idea of getting a cardboard box, go outside and paint. I appreciate that you enjoy what you are doing. I hope that kids are watching. There is so much to learn from model versus video games. Thanks for your videos. I appreciate you do all kind of levels of building as I am getting my chops back.
I'm split on whether or not to get a cheap airbrush or just use the cans. You don't look like you've had any issues with the cans. Do I assume they get your vote? Great channel. Subbed.
I use both, but I use spray cans and hand brushing 95% of the time and have few issues. For me it's faster, easier, I get good results and I don't spend half a day cleaning needles and o rings every time I spray a color.
yea nice but why so a silver Colour ? are the ships not realisticer on original Colour like on the pic left side at 15:54 . i get from eaglemoss a bugship and it have same silver Colour . i wish me it have more realistic Colour how on tv

The paint is way to bumpy sadly. Great build but you should of used an airbrush, the paint would have been smooth. The problem with cans is often too much air and the bumpy paint is the result.
Just finished rewatching Enterprise, such an underrated show. I'd kill to have one of these on my shelf. Great review!
Thanks, grab a kit and get to building, it's way easier than you think!
Thank you for clearing up my confusion about step 2. I could not understand the directions. How are these pieces suppose to exist in the same place. Thanks again.
Nice job! I'm binge watching Enterprise on Netflix right now. I got this model on order. It was a great series and a cool ship. Great vid Sir
Cool! Thanks for watching!

Have you seen Scott as NCIS agent Pride? He was quite good
Marvelous rendition of the NX-01 Chris.

Excellent build Chris, great call out on the instructions, very helpful brother!!
Thanks for watching Ron, glad I can help!
I have a question, I've just brought this kit it will be my first. Do you have to paint it or is the paint to give it more of a realistic look?
If you like the plastic color it comes in you don't have to paint it.
Great work as always Chris!!! One of these days I'll buy/build one of these babies... That was an excellent show!!! Voyager, turned out to be really good as well... I'm still partial to ST ToS however...

Thanks for telling us about the couple errors in the instructions, helps so much. Great build as always.
Thank you Mary!
watching an episode of Enterprise while i watch you build this.... thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
This is a super job Chris, these are nice kits and you really bring them to life! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for stopping by the channel!
This Enterprise turns out so nice! It looks beautiful and realistic! Very Entertaining Video.
Thanks Udo!
I was wondering about the quality of the Polar Lights kits, now I know that they're worth buying.
Nicely done model!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Same here! This video was perfect!
Yet another fascinating build from the master. Easily the finest channel on TH-cam.
Thanks a lot Dale!

Always enjoy a Star Trek build!
Thanks friend!
Could this be made as the refit but with the original reactorkeft in place as emergency power?
I love your channel. I enjoy all the videos but the figure and spaceships are my favorites. Thanks so much. John
As always, thanks for watching and taking part in the channel!
Nice that they included the refit parts. Strange plastic color choice though.
I used buffing metalizer on mine it gives a really cool real metal look and is somewhat shiny, its a fun ship to light as well =)
I think I will use the Krylon Chrome Spray on mine; it turned out well on the Enterprise-D and Voyager.
Excellent! Best designed Enterprise!
Thanks!
The NX 01 looks great
Thanks for watching Noelle!
Sweet build. Glad to see another rattle can guy like myself. I’m thinking you must have about a million partially used spray paint cans.
Thanks!
I have around 50 Rustoleum cans on the big shelf that I use for builds, yup.
What colour did you use for the bridge look

What is the model of? Just paint them what the ships look like
Can you.get L.E.D lights in the nacelles and the deflector dish?
I've seen it done, yes.
Looks this kit is made to be lit up! Thanks for sharing!! I now have one on order!!
Thanks Bryan, as always!
Outstanding job sir. I just ordered mine. Won't be as nice as yours but I'm sure going to enjoy it
Thanks for taking time to comment, much appreciated!
What kind of paint do you use? Just regular spray paint, or is it a special kind ? Thank you
Rustoleum off the shelf as listed.
Question, have you had issues with Mark Fit on these models? because the people at my local hobby shop were worried that it would be too strong and might damage the model because its not a Tamiya model.
No issues yet. Thanks!
I have never heard of decal solution damaging any model, ever.
I watched the show, but when did the NX-01 get refitted? and what were the changes done on it? ,must have missed that episode...
The refit was supposed to happen if the show had been picked up for season 5.
Excellent job. I really enjoy watching your builds. Your manner of building and approach to the video is spot on !
Thanks a lot Todd!
Another great review and build Chris, thanks for these vids my friend, I look forward to them!...Bill
Thank you Bill!
The kit I bought had an oopsie, it includes two of the clear plastic molds that have parts 101 on it, but is missing the other clear plastic mold, what do I do?!
You would want to use the Round2models parts request on their website per the direction sheet, or contact the people you bought it from.
thanks for the tip on the directions!
Thanks for watching the review and leaving a nice comment!
I might get the aztek decal for this thanks. The refit is a nice model too
It's a nice kit, thanks!
Well Chris I guess I will have to buy two so I can build both the standard and the refitt, Again another great build
Nice, enjoy your kits!
Great build, I am going to have to pick it up for the rebuild version. Thanks!
Thanks Stu!
Looks like a nice easy build mate, well done as usual

Some of those colors you mentioned can't be found in Canada?
Titanium Silver?
I can only speak for the area I shop in. Thanks for watching!
Another great build and review Chris. Currently watching Enterprise on the H&I network.
Yes, on every night! Thanks Mike!
I just bought this kit and the issue with parts 45 and 46 in the instructions has been fixed.
Cool!
for primer did you use flat or flos primer?
Primer is always flat. They don't make gloss primers as far as I know, it would defeat the point of a primer.
@@hpiguy thank you sir
Great build, been wanting the bigger scale model for years but really hard to get hold of in the uk
what filler would you recommend for those holes at the back of the model?
Squadron putty, tamiya putty, 3m body putty all work fine.
@hpiguys Worshop -- why Rust-Oleum rather than airbrush?
I use an airbrush if I have to but I like sprays for the speed and ease and no cleanup. All personal preference.

Thanks for another excellent review. Do you have any plans on reviewing recent/future 1/16 car releases from Round2?

Yup, I'm starting on one soon.

It looks pretty small, I wonder how it would look if the model was painted with a TNG starship appearance.
Can I buy you a second NX1 kit so you can build the refit?
I appreciate the offer but I'm good on kits to review. Thanks!

Derek Zoolander: "Be professionally good looking."
