If you follow the directions to the letter and look at the pic in Section D6 of the Triumph workshop manual it works, and I did it relatively easily this way after struggling for ages with trying to turn the plate and the spring together. 😊

I did get success when I pulled with the hook without the plate. So you're right there! 👍

I told you it would be an entertaining video 180 degrees further round 😂
With the strong spring the kickstart will return in contact with your boot and feels right, unlike a floppy spring.
I'm guessing you have a 43 tooth rear sprocket same as me. I have a 20 tooth drive sprocket which gives a nice 65mph at 4500 rpm.

Ah ha! Yes, you were right!
I think I need to do another video comparing my 3TA and this engine now. For pros and cons!😉😁

Mole Grips on the locating plate tab give you the best chance at this tricky task. I don't recommend copperslip on fasteners due to galvanic corrosion issues use a ceramic lubricant instead.

You are absolutely correct about ceramic paste. Stops brake discs corroding too.
      But I haven't got any!

Where'd you get those gaskets? I wanna make sure I don't order from them. Looks like a 5th grade class cut them out of construction paper for an art project. I really like the Franz and Grubb gasket kits.

Just a cheap set off eBay. Lesson learned. Always buy from reputable suppliers.

I had to hold the plate on with a deep socket until I located it... and scratched the bottom of the oil tank.

Oh no! I can absolutely see how that would happen.

It's looking fantastic, mate. I hope the kick-start spring doesn't launch you into space, tho!!!

It might! I was comparing the TriBSA and the T90. One I did tight, the other very tight. And to be honest, loose is fine.
