Thanks for your feedback. And honestly for subsidizing my game play. As a very low spender, I do appreciate how great the game is and that its not cheap to create and keep running, so I'm actually truly grateful for folks with the spare cash, essentially monetizing my experience. That said, if they don't make the whole of the experience at least partially available to the whole of the player base, they're going to isolate a good majority of us straight into another game.

This is what I'm saying: Plarium need to *increase* the odds for good drops, not decrease them, in order to succour players into more financial engagement. Rares in a Primal shard waters the odds down so much, it's like vomiting on your food and expecting you to just dig in!!
Frankly pulling an epic after a month of Hydra clash would be just as crappy as pulling a rare. It is the shard scarcity that is the real problem. If you pulled 20 a month without extra spending pulling epics or rares wouldn’t be nearly as bad.
It’s incredible how terrified Plarium is of nerfing champs and making people mad, but then will absolutely give them the finger with these shard prices and pull rates.

Basically Vault-Tec from the Fallout universe* but in real life, its a social experiment, testing to see how much BS a gaming company can get away with before players quit *For any who don't know, Vault Tec used underground fallout shelter vaults as massive social and scientific experiments, treating the fictional survivors of a nuclear appocalypse as guinea pigs. Great video as always. So many good points from a high end perspective. These shards 100% should just not have rare champions in it. It's that simple. 95% for epic, 4% for Leggo, 1% for Mythical or something.
I thought like that too, but to most mid to endgame players a non void epic is just a 4 star chicken, so it doesn't really change anything. It would just flood early accounts with epics, which would devalue sacreds..
This is an outstanding video! I stopped spending over a year ago when Plarium basically showed that they had no interest in fixing widely known issues.
Very accurate commentary. Primal shards aside, this has been an ongoing issue for the last year or so. Everything implemented into the game recently simply increases the spread between high spenders, and everyone else - again, not just f2p vs. spenders, but really krakens vs. everyone else. Empowerment, blessings, mythic gear, and the introduction of some extremely overpowered champs (who they have pumped 10x's on repeatedly), just means that the "haves" simply have so much more than they did previously. As HH noted, you used to be able to reasonably compete if you played for a long time. A long term f2p or low spender could reasonably have a super fast Siphi, or a really well built nuker, etc. But you cant get +4 empowerments, 6s blessings across the board, and a roster just filled w/ meta champions realistically without spending substantial amounts of money. And the difference is that there is a massive variance in the power of a +4 6s blessed champ filled w/ empowered gear and full faction guardians, and someone who is running a really well geared +0 champ w/ a 3 or 4 star blessing. I have played this game for 3 years. I am not f2p and have historically competed at a high level, and just have no ability to do so any more. The Primal shards is just expanding on this already existing issue.
This hits the nail on the head. Myself and my husband just started playing again after a break of a few months. He is lucky that an old clan mate quit and gave him what was a pretty stacked account. He even managed to once or twice make plat arena. Now he is struggling to even get back to gold tag team as his chars don't have 6 star blessings or empowerment and his gear isn't ascended.
This is an interesting discussion. Ultimately, it comes down to Plarium seeing just how high they can set the spending bar. The issue seems to be that spenders are already concerned about their spending habits and this helps them make a definitive decision to pull back. The challenge for Plarium is that once many people make that decision, they can not be won back, especially if they feel really good about not spending any more on something they view as an abusive system.
This is a very eye opening video that sets a new bar in terms of what one can achieve in this game if they dont spend. I was complaining i cant stay in platinum while not spending but now? i am doing fantastic tbh. The stats this guy has its simply another game. a good example hiw georgid. Normally i will expect a slow, stoneskin waiting to do some reasonable damage potentially kill my nuker if nekreth is CC. this guy will simply one shot my whole team and rotate so fast it will be a 2second fight. jesus. an excellent video! will try to find his channel and follow
i use around 500$ /m on this game. And i had a huge dip in spending when the blessings came out. And i have litt not spent anything since the primal shards came out. When i feel that they are going in to rob my from my money it goes from a little fun spending on shards or energy to just feeling bad.

Excellent content guys!!! It's really informative to hear a krakens point-of-view. I'm a mid spender myself, and completely agree. More content creators as well as players, need to stay on this. This game is really fun but it will come to an end if they can't keep your basic ftp base happy.
Really enjoyed & agree with pretty much 100% of the points made. Love hearing conversations like this about about how the game can improve. As was said Raid has an awesome community that is very passionate and enjoys the game. It would be a downright shame & travesty if plarium marches it to its doom by not listening to its player base & just how unhappy we currently are with the decisions they've made. As always great content HellHades and enjoyed hearing @Bigpoppadrockrsl get his point out there. Everything starts with honest communication. So hopefully this may just be the bit that helps to open plariums eyes to the current state of the community.
I guess conversations like this are highly valuable for Hades. I really hope he will remember when the Fateless game is running for a couple of years because that's usually the time companies lose connection with their customer base.

Thanks for the video! Fascinating discussion, lots of interesting points. Reminds me of the podcast-esque videos I'd watch of my favorite card game content creators discussing the latest balance patches and state of the game. Wouldn't mind seeing more of these collaborations. I'd like to add one thing about primal shards in comparison to void shards, that should really be reflected in their price points. Voids shards have an entirely unique set of champs, there is no overlap with ancients and sacreds. So even if you pull a rare with a void shard, you might get a quality Coldheart and still be satisfied. So in my opinion, the price point of Primals should be lower than voids, even if these mythical heroes are only obtainable through them, because 99.5% of the time you're pulling the same thing you might get from ancients and sacreds.
It is quite ridiculous. Just looking at the void shards issue as drock mentions, I have played raid for about 2 and a half years at this point, and my void shard pulls have been Visix, Krisk, Yakarl and Arbiter. No joke. 3 Dupes, well to be fair visix wasn't a dupe, since she was the first and I got her before i got to the Scyl login, and she did hard carry my account early. But the point remains, it sucks to have pulled 4 legendary void champions over all this time and 3 of them are free and login champs. The Krisk was very lucky on a 10 times. I have enough voids atm to pull another but I'm holding out for a guaranteed or a meta 10x. So on average I am able to earn about 1 void per 6 months and thus far it's mainly duplex city. i’m a f2p player that’s been playing the game for almost 2 years now and i’d say i’ve gotten pretty lucky with my pulls but seeing the champion index just filled with +4s with high blessings is crazy. Like i’ve almost managed to fill out my entire champion index with lego’s when you zoom out of it but this guy has done it with +4 champs 🤣
I totally agree with both of you in every aspect of the game..Im a low spender and cant imagine spending .5% of what you guys do but even so there have been times like this where I've thought about stopping. And imagine all the low spenders over all the player base saying that. Even then it would be a HUGE smash of player $ going into Plarium..Keep up the awesome channel. I watch you a lot and you and your guides are my go to for any new champ for gear and or blessing as well as masteries. Thank you.
Fantastic video. Glad to hear where Drock's head is at regarding these changes. I have typically spent ~$100/mo. on Raid, but that has ceased since the Emic fusion which was my "F*** this Sh**" moment. DD has gotten ridiculous, and the energy requirements to complete fusions require spending now just to keep pace (or you need to skip fusions entirely to save resources for the next one). Much like Machan said, I found I was spending just to keep up, not to get ahead. Also, I don't believe Plarium is keeping up with its responsibilities as a game moderator... how many weeks is the Infinity Comp going to be allowed to stay in HC? Polymorph in arena is still a major problem and has been for MONTHS. No matter how much I love this game, it just doesn't feel good to spend my money on it in its current condition. Going forward, I plan on renewing the Daily Gem pack, and maybe purchase a Forge Pass here and there if its a good set, but I would be shocked if I spent beyond that until changes come to this game :(
Why do people keep talking about "long term health of the game"? There is no long term health. We already know Aristocrat is dropping Plarium in priority, and putting the whole thing into "profit mode". Plarium is on it's way out, and knows it. This is just another grab at as much of your money as they can get on their way out. I don't understand how people don't see this for what it is, knowing the status of Plarium as far as Aristocrat is concerned.
Nice to see a video where you get other members of SP into the conversation. The 300 shards for mercy needs correcting though it's very unrealistic to suggest the mercy of 1% is as bad as people think, I think it was first said on your channel Hades that it's 300 before guaranteed and it upset everyone as they assumed it as fact, but this isn't reality of what can happen. Statistically speaking the odds are far better than content creators are realising, a Saph breakdown can clarify this if still in doubt (another video to somewhat calm the rioting)? Mathematically it is probable that at times people will get to 220 ancients before they hit gold as getting bad rolls on 20 shards is not too high volume but with mythical mercy the 100 shards over the 200 is never going to get reached, it's very unlikely it will get over 230 shards, Plarium are being smarter with these odds than we are giving them credit for. Between 220 and 230 shards you have 10 pulls all with 20.5% or more chance for a mythical so you will be unlikely not to get something in that range even... The odds of reaching 300 for any player ever, without mythical, is going to be astronomical because repeating bad rolls over such a volume just wont happen.. 30 primal prisms this week from 1st in hydra clash, knew it was going to happen!! I think Polymorph and Taras combination really hurts the game just reached gold 2 in live arena without either of the Ukrainian duo, nor a lockout champ and I don't spend on the game, it's a brick wall!
There was a offer in my shop not too long ago where the mythic tome was valued at $16 for 1. So even if you do hit theoretical gold you'll still have to shell out $16 x however many tomes your new champ reqs.
Good to see that even Krakens have some integrity. Lets hope its just not all talk and behind closed doors they still buy into it. Good video, i think it echos the sentiment of the majority of the playerbase. Also about the Hydra clash, i think it had come to a point, where we have to swat RSL discord and drop a "nerf cadaver" every 5min
@HellHades ...Regarding to the 25:30 min discussion, I'm a F2P, casual player for about 1 year. From summoning shards i've got only 3 Legendary Champs : Jetny, Suzerain and Drokgul ... witch i didn't even got to 6* ....
Thank you Hades, it's one thing to believe that this frustration isn't across the board, but to see that it affects everyone is actually good to know. Hopefully, they can either adjust to make new content more low spending friendly, or at least give us more options (without 500 purchase pop-ups).
Dude, I'm right there with you. Last 4 void leggos I've pulled have been Supreme Athel, Angar, Dupe Vlad, Dupe Angar. And my current void mercy count is over 160. Can't wait for it to be another turd.

Great content as always HH. You really hit the nail on the head right at the end of your discussion. Plarium is a business and they have to make money. We are all upset with the "egregious" manner of it in the case of primal shards. The best way to fight this is simple yet near impossible: stop spending. Microeconomics, right? The demand drops, the price comes down with it. I would argue that Plarium's long standing pricing is set, not by Plarium, but rather by the players. Plarium maximizes profits based on OUR behaviors. Incidentally, this is why I am excited by Fateless, as it seems your team values the balance between customer and company. Keep on doing your thing, you do it well.
Great interview, it’s good to see that not only us FTP have to bend over, plarium needs to see that they need to focus on balancing not just in game but in their customers, they treat FTP like insignificant when they should make sure they don’t lose interest, some of don’t spend because we can’t not because of a lack of wanting to, so if they keep making it impossible for FTP players to feel like they even have a chance at getting ahead they will lose more than they know, especially now that they are biting the hand that feeds them (krakens)
As a F2P player, I don't dislike that Primal Shard stuff - I mean, I get more chances to summon a good champion than I got before, and if they price those at 8 or 80 $ per piece doesn't matter for me. But as Drock pointed out - when big spenders think that the price is way too high, the mercy system horrible,... and they decide to leave the game or stop spending because of that, it's really problematic for the future of that game, since less income = less new content = players get bored = fewer players = even less income and so on... And thank you for bringing Drock's channel to my attention - seems like a really great dude, definitely gonna watch his videos.

Haha so true on voids. In 3 years I got only 2 leggos - Visix and Arbiter :D I bought just 8 voids, but I play quite a lot. around 30 voids between 2x used to pull
I used to play Last shelter survival for like 3-4 years. Something similar happened where all krakens and whales stopped spending money to protest and basically the developer had to agree to their terms. If this happens in raid it would be better for all of us.
as someone who last pulled a void leggo last year November (raglin) to pulling a jingwong last week. It really makes it hard to understand the money spend if your return is so bad. I get its a gamble and everything but more than half of the game feels like a gamble at this point. 5 types of shards, 3 types of soulstones. Its taken away from the game being fun in a and finding new comps to run (based on who you have) to being forced to pull certain champs in order to make due let alone compete.
It took me over 2 years on my f2p account to finally get a void legendary from shards. It wasn't the worst (khoronar) thankfully but definitely not the best especially without his partner. Even on my main which has spent a considerable amount on void shards has only drawn 10 void legendaries with the first being Leorius and the last one a dupe Arbiter.
25:46 resonates hard with me. I’ve played this game for about 1.5 years now and I’ve pulled two void legendaries. First was turvold, which isn’t bad but I just pulled the second after going to hard pity and pulled a yakarl. Like… I know it could have been worse but it definitely could have been better and it feels terrible because of it.
In dealing with Polly morph I think adding ignores polymorph to the Incinerate and Lethal Dose blessings would be a good fix. Actually make those blessings useful. Also add two new arena strategies.
Everything in Raid has always been ludicrous especially it's prices for 99% of the players. It's just now that some of the whales/krakens have hit their limit and are noticing the pricing in this game is shit.

This is a perfect example of the power creep in the game, which would normally only really bother me if I was trying compete in top PVP content, which is indirectly affecting us mortals and low spenders because it makes the mandatory PVP elements such as reaching Gold 1 in 3v3 increasingly impossible to achieve. It is time Raid removed the cap limit on all but the top level of any arena segment (Plat for classic and Gold 4 for 3v3).
Same time power creep with Hydra Clash will seperate the f2p from high spenders further. I spend, but our clan has only got 1 chest from Hydra Clash so far, and Stone Skin is already a F You.
Brilliant video because the only thing that plarium will listen to is profits. If those are at risk they will be more likely to take action. Also top timing off the back of Machan announcement. I'm ftp nearly 3 yrs and pulled jongwon 1yr of void pulls) and in yr2 Angar. Amazing Drock called it. I was so gutted, both absolutely terrible and another Yr to wait to pull my next leggo.

So in my opinion, the price point of Primals should be lower than voids, even if these mythical heroes are only obtainable through them, because 99.5% of the time you're pulling the same thing you might get from ancients and sacreds.

It is quite ridiculous. Just looking at the void shards issue as drock mentions, I have played raid for about 2 and a half years at this point, and my void shard pulls have been Visix, Krisk, Yakarl and Arbiter. No joke. 3 Dupes, well to be fair visix wasn't a dupe, since she was the first and I got her before i got to the Scyl login, and she did hard carry my account early.
But the point remains, it sucks to have pulled 4 legendary void champions over all this time and 3 of them are free and login champs. The Krisk was very lucky on a 10 times. I have enough voids atm to pull another but I'm holding out for a guaranteed or a meta 10x. So on average I am able to earn about 1 void per 6 months and thus far it's mainly duplex city.

i’m a f2p player that’s been playing the game for almost 2 years now and i’d say i’ve gotten pretty lucky with my pulls but seeing the champion index just filled with +4s with high blessings is crazy. Like i’ve almost managed to fill out my entire champion index with lego’s when you zoom out of it but this guy has done it with +4 champs 🤣
I totally agree with both of you in every aspect of the game..Im a low spender and cant imagine spending .5% of what you guys do but even so there have been times like this where I've thought about stopping. And imagine all the low spenders over all the player base saying that. Even then it would be a HUGE smash of player $ going into Plarium..Keep up the awesome channel. I watch you a lot and you and your guides are my go to for any new champ for gear and or blessing as well as masteries. Thank you.

I have typically spent ~$100/mo. on Raid, but that has ceased since the Emic fusion which was my "F*** this Sh**" moment. DD has gotten ridiculous, and the energy requirements to complete fusions require spending now just to keep pace (or you need to skip fusions entirely to save resources for the next one). Much like Machan said, I found I was spending just to keep up, not to get ahead. Also, I don't believe Plarium is keeping up with its responsibilities as a game moderator... how many weeks is the Infinity Comp going to be allowed to stay in HC? Polymorph in arena is still a major problem and has been for MONTHS. No matter how much I love this game, it just doesn't feel good to spend my money on it in its current condition.
Going forward, I plan on renewing the Daily Gem pack, and maybe purchase a Forge Pass here and there if its a good set, but I would be shocked if I spent beyond that until changes come to this game :(
It's all about time for me. Auto battles should be much faster, or raid card give 3-4x. I'll pay for anything I want, but not with my time.

Why do people keep talking about "long term health of the game"? There is no long term health. We already know Aristocrat is dropping Plarium in priority, and putting the whole thing into "profit mode". Plarium is on it's way out, and knows it. This is just another grab at as much of your money as they can get on their way out. I don't understand how people don't see this for what it is, knowing the status of Plarium as far as Aristocrat is concerned.
Nice to see a video where you get other members of SP into the conversation. The 300 shards for mercy needs correcting though it's very unrealistic to suggest the mercy of 1% is as bad as people think, I think it was first said on your channel Hades that it's 300 before guaranteed and it upset everyone as they assumed it as fact, but this isn't reality of what can happen. Statistically speaking the odds are far better than content creators are realising, a Saph breakdown can clarify this if still in doubt (another video to somewhat calm the rioting)? Mathematically it is probable that at times people will get to 220 ancients before they hit gold as getting bad rolls on 20 shards is not too high volume but with mythical mercy the 100 shards over the 200 is never going to get reached, it's very unlikely it will get over 230 shards, Plarium are being smarter with these odds than we are giving them credit for. Between 220 and 230 shards you have 10 pulls all with 20.5% or more chance for a mythical so you will be unlikely not to get something in that range even... The odds of reaching 300 for any player ever, without mythical, is going to be astronomical because repeating bad rolls over such a volume just wont happen.. 30 primal prisms this week from 1st in hydra clash, knew it was going to happen!! I think Polymorph and Taras combination really hurts the game just reached gold 2 in live arena without either of the Ukrainian duo, nor a lockout champ and I don't spend on the game, it's a brick wall!

There was a offer in my shop not too long ago where the mythic tome was valued at $16 for 1. So even if you do hit theoretical gold you'll still have to shell out $16 x however many tomes your new champ reqs.
Good to see that even Krakens have some integrity. Lets hope its just not all talk and behind closed doors they still buy into it.
Good video, i think it echos the sentiment of the majority of the playerbase. Also about the Hydra clash, i think it had come to a point, where we have to swat RSL discord and drop a "nerf cadaver" every 5min

Thank you very much drock. The attitude you adopt towards the recent systems released in the game is awesome. We FTPers need someone to have this sort of attitude of shock and awe. It is ridiculous. It is ludicrous. Truly and sincerely. Not using those words for shock value. It is so crazy that these systems are so bad. And people need to call it out publicly.
It is absolutely insane to spend more than $1 per primal shard.
If they want us to spend $3-$3:50 a shard, they need to remove rares from the shard.

Great content as always HH. You really hit the nail on the head right at the end of your discussion. Plarium is a business and they have to make money. We are all upset with the "egregious" manner of it in the case of primal shards. The best way to fight this is simple yet near impossible: stop spending. Microeconomics, right? The demand drops, the price comes down with it. I would argue that Plarium's long standing pricing is set, not by Plarium, but rather by the players. Plarium maximizes profits based on OUR behaviors. Incidentally, this is why I am excited by Fateless, as it seems your team values the balance between customer and company. Keep on doing your thing, you do it well.
Great interview, it’s good to see that not only us FTP have to bend over, plarium needs to see that they need to focus on balancing not just in game but in their customers, they treat FTP like insignificant when they should make sure they don’t lose interest, some of don’t spend because we can’t not because of a lack of wanting to, so if they keep making it impossible for FTP players to feel like they even have a chance at getting ahead they will lose more than they know, especially now that they are biting the hand that feeds them (krakens)
imo to save primal shard is remove rare change, and get shard instead of fragment in hydra clash chest

As a F2P player, I don't dislike that Primal Shard stuff - I mean, I get more chances to summon a good champion than I got before, and if they price those at 8 or 80 $ per piece doesn't matter for me. But as Drock pointed out - when big spenders think that the price is way too high, the mercy system horrible,... and they decide to leave the game or stop spending because of that, it's really problematic for the future of that game, since less income = less new content = players get bored = fewer players = even less income and so on...
And thank you for bringing Drock's channel to my attention - seems like a really great dude, definitely gonna watch his videos.

Haha so true on voids. In 3 years I got only 2 leggos - Visix and Arbiter :D I bought just 8 voids, but I play quite a lot. around 30 voids between 2x used to pull
I used to play Last shelter survival for like 3-4 years. Something similar happened where all krakens and whales stopped spending money to protest and basically the developer had to agree to their terms. If this happens in raid it would be better for all of us.
as someone who last pulled a void leggo last year November (raglin) to pulling a jingwong last week. It really makes it hard to understand the money spend if your return is so bad. I get its a gamble and everything but more than half of the game feels like a gamble at this point. 5 types of shards, 3 types of soulstones. Its taken away from the game being fun in a and finding new comps to run (based on who you have) to being forced to pull certain champs in order to make due let alone compete.

It took me over 2 years on my f2p account to finally get a void legendary from shards. It wasn't the worst (khoronar) thankfully but definitely not the best especially without his partner. Even on my main which has spent a considerable amount on void shards has only drawn 10 void legendaries with the first being Leorius and the last one a dupe Arbiter.
25:46 resonates hard with me. I’ve played this game for about 1.5 years now and I’ve pulled two void legendaries. First was turvold, which isn’t bad but I just pulled the second after going to hard pity and pulled a yakarl. Like… I know it could have been worse but it definitely could have been better and it feels terrible because of it.
Yeah after a year my void legendary pull was actually Angar. That hurt so much

In dealing with Polly morph I think adding ignores polymorph to the Incinerate and Lethal Dose blessings would be a good fix. Actually make those blessings useful. Also add two new arena strategies.

This is a perfect example of the power creep in the game, which would normally only really bother me if I was trying compete in top PVP content, which is indirectly affecting us mortals and low spenders because it makes the mandatory PVP elements such as reaching Gold 1 in 3v3 increasingly impossible to achieve. It is time Raid removed the cap limit on all but the top level of any arena segment (Plat for classic and Gold 4 for 3v3).
Same time power creep with Hydra Clash will seperate the f2p from high spenders further.
I spend, but our clan has only got 1 chest from Hydra Clash so far, and Stone Skin is already a F You.
Quick question how come in UNM and NM clan boss chests I get multiple different brews but can only ever get one type of shard ????

I'm ftp nearly 3 yrs and pulled jongwon 1yr of void pulls) and in yr2 Angar. Amazing Drock called it. I was so gutted, both absolutely terrible and another Yr to wait to pull my next leggo.

Only thing I'm gonna talk about is hydra clash. Fourth & Fifth Place should still get some rewards just for participating.
