Really interesting info. Above all it’s encouraging to be reminded how closely our various editions of the GNT match even through centuries of copying.
Have you thought about doing this with the different versions of the TR? Digging a little deeper into the "which TR" issue and possibly the differences in the different Critical texts too? Essentially working to answer the question of textual purity within each text theory/family of texts.
I would love to see an actual statistical number of meaningful differences between the different major NT texts. It would be wonderful if somebody would call leads in towns the actual “substantive differences” between NA, TR and MT
That would indeed be interesting to see... I'll have statistical analysis after this project is done... I might be easier to do the Majority text after, but the CT... I suspect there would be many variants to review between the NA and the others.
@@maxxiong no. Mark's site compares the TR to the critical text based on translatable difference. This is a comparison of the Byzantine Textform with the Textus Recetpus.
Love the DBZ joke. The funny thing is that English dubbing of the anime actual MISTRANSLATED the Japanese and made the number 9000, in the original Japanese anime and Manga(Comic), “it’s over 8000!” Is the quote. So there’s a little textual criticism on Dragon Ball 🤣🤣 if that even qualifies. Love your work and God Bless you.
Hi Dwayne, when you say the text of the patriarchs do you mean the text of the Greek Orthodox Church? On the other hand, regarding the variant of Matthew 3:11, it is interesting to note that it is attested by Luke 3:16, so that even if Matthew did not really write this part, he would not be introducing a phrase that John the Baptist did not really say.
That's a great point on Mark 3! As for the patriarchal text, I believe it's the Antoniades 1904 edition, don't quote me on the specific year though. :)
Wait how did you copy the data over using the “rules” you referenced?? Does this require some programming knowledge? I’d love to hear the details of how you did this!
Formulas can be relatively complicated: In this example it's just string manipulation. It would take a while to explain that here. Are you going to make your data public when you're done? Google Sheets gives the ability to share a spreadsheet. It's not as easy to work with, so keep working in Excel, but when you're done, I would love to see it for some projects of my own. Please, Sir? After all, it is Christmas.
I wasn't going to, but then you said "Please, Sir? After all, it is Christmas" and it changed my mind instantly ;P I'll be releasing the documents by book as I complete each one.
No comprendo.. Everhard's a PCA Calvinist. Why promote his book when we who read the Book dispensationally, know the risks of having suggested reading a book that might drip as if embalmed with Deterministic poison? Does he know that Determinism is now waning with the myriad distributed efforts of those like Dr. Leighton Flowers and Mike Winger?

On a serious note, Love the video, very informative. This is why I basically use just NKJV and ESV.
Also I gave you a 5th thumbs up! Just so good!
Been looking forward to this.
Thanks Dwane
Looking forward to more!
Insightful indeed 🙌🏻
Liked and subbed- that’s a lot of work, thanks for doing it!

Really neat video, Dwayne!
Really interesting! Looking forward to additional analysis like this! Using the spreadsheet is an excellent idea!
Nice 👕 shirt!
Thanks! 😁

This is so nerdy and amazing!

I might in the future, but I think this project is big enough that I'm not currently concerned with what's next :)

@@maxxiong oh, okay... I'm a bit confuses, since the CT plays no role in this video.
Where did you get the tee shirt? Looks like the cover of Matthew Everhard's book "Souls"
Did you watch to the end of the video? ;)

When I'm finished with Matthew, I'll release the excel sheet :)
The interesting thing to look at would be the book of Revelation
😂😂😂 The book of Revelation make up about a Third of ALL the variants between the two editions!
@@Dwayne_Green I think it's more or less 20 pages on the pdf
Somewhere down the line, would you be making this a PDF to possibly share with your viewers? Blessings
I will release each document as I complete each book.

Which version of the TR are you using for the analysis?

I wonder what the differences there are Between TR and Majority Text, and F35.
I can't imagine it would be all that different, perhaps it would be worthwhile to see after I'm done with this project :)
It's the CT circa 1881 that is the new boy on the block and needs to be vetted. Burgon The Revision Revised
