Love the videos. Ben Franklin died about 30 years before the Union Oyster House building became a restaurant. I'm sure he was very familiar with the building though. Dry goods merchant in his time I think. Details. Like I said...great vids keep em coming. Miss the way it was.
The Boston Garden was a Palace compared to the TD Garden! Sat in the press box the night Bobby Orr The GOAT scored his 100th point! My Dad also "Knew a Guy"! Great Channel!
Southie and the North End are my favorite neighborhoods in Boston. Probably because both still have a small town feel despite being part of a larger city. They both also have great food, and nice peaceful area.
Anthony, have enjoyed these stories all the way along but this was one of the very best! To see the pride you have in your “turf” is very good to see. You are dedicated to your neighborhood and the residents, young, older and past.☘️
Have no idea how u popped up , I was born on North Margin St, , family from montefalcione, moved to Medford, , family had business there, my cousins still have a restaurant on Parmenter St.. your younger then me,,,, memories….. I’m gonna sit back and watch all these episodes … things are done for a reason … this is one of them … God Bless you and your family
Love your videos Anthony. I moved from Boston to Florida back in the Late 80s ..I use to hangout in Christopher Columbus Park (waterfront) with Dom V, Roger R, Peter F, Steven G, Chris L, John V and Lots of others......Girls use to come from all over the Boston area just to hang out with a bunch of broke but good looking Italian Kids from the North End.. Keep the video coming Anthony..Great work!
Great video Anthony! Love the history from the North End you're sharing with us....I was in the area 2 weeks ago and will be back soon to stop by these places. Keep it up! Happy Columbus Day...
Anthony, you got a Phd in North End History! i lived with my buddy John Tamola a NYC firefighter...a brave man in NYC Little Italy...good food too...write a book!
Yes it’s was closed the viilla Francesca but if it’s the mob joint I meantiioned then it is Francesco’s ! 2st one in Richmond last one on north Washington ❤️🙏🏼💯
Just discovered your channel and watched multiple videos. Very interesting. You give the neighborhood a sentimental and nostalgic feeling. More videos like this!
Anthony, love your videos! Miss them! Hope to see another very soon! I was in the North End yesterday and went to Galleria Umberto on your recommendation, it was delicious just as you said (reminded me of my wife's Grandmothers). Hope you and the family are doing well and hope you and the family have a blessed Christmas! Talk soon.....Keep going!!
I listen to 98.5 Sports Hub. A guest they had on was named Mark Gemelli from the North End. I think Mark makes his famous meatballs for the St. Anthony feast. His son Nick is a producer? on 98.5 Sportshub....
My mother grew up in the north end, moved out in 1985. My noni owned a building on Hanover Ave and sold it for quarters on the dollar. She got a post office gig in this little Italian town in Milford Mass. I myself wasn’t able to grow up here but man it’s like a second home to me since I visited with my mom so often. I’d love to live here one day but it’s definitely different than how it used to be not to mention so expensive. Loved the video and the history lesson 🤟🏽
Love the North End People. This nice irish girls' first boyfriend was from the North End. So charming, funny and handsome. Loved the swagger:) .I adored his family and they treated me like family 'God bless his soul and keep him in His love till eternity.
Maybe do some live streams here and there Anthony its more chaotic because there arent any do-overs but its a great way to communicate with viewers and maybe even make a few buckaroos in the process. Keep plugging away the channel will start to gain traction sooner or later its just hard in this climate where everyone and their mother is doing youtube so its harder to get seen but people will appreciate your genuine and quality content when they do finally discover your channel. Theres also a fairly large Italian American community on here maybe try and hook up with "growing up italian" channel to get a signal boost they do podcasts and stuff which is another thing you would be good at just need to find a good dance partner. Looking forward to your next video i miss the north end quite a bit makes me feel like im back when i watch.
Wonderful informative and so appreciated comment ty I was thinking all those things I’m just trying to keep the old neighborhood alive with stories places and people that made this Norht End what people from all over come to see! Always here always thankful that you watch and comment ❤️🙏🏼
Sorry to say this but me and my buddy got robbed buying fireworks down the North end. We gave the money to the guy in the playground, he went around the conah and never came back with our fireworks. I was a 16 year old kid from South Boston. We then started buying them in Chinatown
I remember hearing that a couple time then some “guys” found out and gave then a vicious beaten ! Never Rob anyone while doing business!!! Ty for watching and commenting ❤️🙏🏼💯
Im a french guy who loves the North end... I used to hang out there and visit my friend Father Antonio who has now retired in Italy.. Also Dominic, his brother Mario at Café Paradiso. I noticed that people with your heritage dont visit the motherland in Europe, and its a shame.
Ty for watching and commenting! Urs it’s true I believe in some small way American Italians some don’t speak the native language because when my moms came to this country there was a lot of prejudice so she had to speak Italian only at home or in the neighborhood she grew up in . That being said Italians like myself were never taught the language 🥲 but I have been 2 times in all different parts of Italy and will be back again ! But France Wow there’s a place I’d love to explore , that’s on my bucket list🙏🏼❤️
What the hell happened to the Connah Store? I live in Foxboro, but hit Boston Fri, Sat and Sun. Also, how do you feel about the tyrannical BS not allowing the North End to have outside dining? Side note, when the city of Boston re-instated the mask mandate and vax papers, the North End ignored it!! Best neighborhood in America!!
Yes the Conah store is no more ! The owner of the building woyld not re -new Mark’s ( conah store owner ) lease ! And yes the north end was hammered with fees when they were allowed outdoor seating , then the eventually got that taken away as well ! Seams a bit sketchy to me ! Ty for watching and commenting ❤️💪🏼🙏🏼💯
Back when moms could use a wooden spoon on you and how many did she break on you I know I had a few broken on me and I deserved it believe me and taught me respect and not to go against my mom or against what she said same with my dad that's for darn sure. My mom still alive National Treasure my dad died 7 years ago I miss him all the time. My mom is almost 81 stronger than a horse doesn't take any medication and still is kicking ass to say the least. She eats healthy. Meat eat healthy take a multivitamin and drink plenty of water and get exercise they're not hard things but if you do a little bit every day you be surprised especially drinking plenty of water and eating good along with exercise don't worry about taking time to supplements just take a good multivitamin remember in life it's the little details that really add up in the long run. Great videos by the way
Great comment ty so much for watching means a lot and yes my mom went all iut and was know to use a metal spatula on the back of my hand !!! Lol but it made me the man I am today … like to think a good man ❤️🙏🏼
Crazy.. you really can't have too many Firicanos, fericanos..whatever; if in fact they are like you, your dad or francesca. Well maybe there are too many considering frans mom and dad contributed 12 to 14 Fericanos... But Im sure there must alot of ANTHONYs... thus the reason to differentiate... I get it now😊

I love the North End; l lived there when l first got married. I am from the old West End and we have no neighborhood to go back to.
I was one of those kids who came into town to buy bottle rockets and firecrackers. “Don’t look in the bag, just take it and go.”
Luv it !!!!
