I grew up in Chelsea 61-88 when I moved away to upstate NY. You passed by many of my childhood zones. I lived homeless in that cemetary for a stint. I grew up on the corner of that on ramp. Everything has changed and almost all the shops have changed except Katz bagels and John's Pizza to name a few. thanks for a stroll through my past. I survived the Chelsea Fire ( conflagration of 73) my brother and I were in a scrap yard on second st when the fire broke out. We ran for our lives as the sky went black and flaming debris flew over our heads. Our homes were missed by mere blocks ... the area where market basket is , is part of the burned out zone

Hey starseed13440, lived across the street from St Stans, 1955-1961, used the structure from bridge as monkey bars, always climbing right to the top deck. Went to St Stans school then a couple years at the Williams. Me and Bro where always exploring the Guv and all the abandoned homes. Moved to Maverick St in Eastie. Played halfball hitting against St Stans. Weird world then but have many fond memories.

Starting at 21:19, the building straight ahead with the turret....that was my first apartment on the 3rd floor. The 111 Woodlawn bus in your video was the bus I took for decades to go from the Everett Chelsea line where my family lived into Boston and from my apartment to Boston. My family moved from Everett to NH 5 years ago so I no longer have reason to take that bus. Seeing it in your video made me feel sad for a lost part of my life. I hope you enjoyed your stay. I really enjoyed growing up in that area from 1962 to 1985 and then visiting often thereafter.

Thank you for visiting Chelsea, the place my family has called home for over 100 years! Glad you enjoyed Mi Salvador… one of my favorites. And Ciao Pizza is absolutely amazing. You pointed out Katz Bagel, but didn’t focus on being the creator of the PIZZA BAGEL! Ya missed a good chunk of downtown Chelsea Broadway for more action. Just a few additions for you… the tall building across from Market Basket/ SL3 station is the FBI headquarters for the Boston region. Also, at the 20 min mark you were standing in the spot that I met Prince William after he and Kate toured ROCA (an amazing community organization started in Chelsea) when they visited late last year. Lol. Anyway, loved seeing an outsiders perspective on our tiny city! Thanks.

The restaurant after Katz bagel used to be Rileys Roast beef. I think they had an el pollo loco there very very briefly too. That big building on the corner in front of the flags used to be R.OC.A. reaching out to chelsea adolescents. Not sure if it still is or not.

Thank you for this video definitely brought back some memories I lived on park st and hawthorn st across the street from the school you walked right passed my old house where I lived, I remember as kid learning to ride my bike up and down park st, and where that sign says genesis back then if my memory serves me right that used to be a real estate💙👍🏼

This was a good, informative walk. I've been through (over?) Chelsea many times on the highway to the Tobin Bridge and Boston, but I have never actually been to the city itself. I liked your comments about Market Basket, an excellent family-owned chain of grocery stores here in New England with great prices, good selection of food, and excellent service. The one I shop at here in New Hampshire is constantly packed with customers, but the checkout is so well organized with real cashiers and baggers that it's always speedy. Thanks for the tour of Chelsea!

It's neat that you stayed at an AirBnB in the smallest city in Massachusetts and showcased the area. 😎 I enjoyed the history and old architectures, and it was cool to see the Latino restaurants. 😃 21:36 Chelsea Square is a nice public open space. 😍 38:00 That sunset looks like a painting! 🔥⛅ Thank you for sharing this informative and relaxing walk in Chelsea, AK! 🤗

The restaurant that closed next to the bagel shop was Rileys Roast Beef. It was the place to go after a night of drinking. 😂 John's puzza was the best! I grew up in that area. When the drugs and crimes were bad but honestly i never noticed and I was a single young mom living on a first floor apartment. I look back at it now and it's crazy how I hardly never locked my doors ans i never felt afraid. Even after one Sunday morning there was a dead man right below my window. This was on Essex St. A young white girl with a kid. I knew alot of people all the Spanish families were so respectful the dtug dealers on the corners were cool. I have the best memories living in Chelsea. 😊❤

Even if it has a bad reputation I'm glad none of these comments are filled with racism or discrimination towards the small city. This place was my childhood and lived here from 2004 to 2017.

I was born in Everett and graduated EHS class of 80. My first apartment in 1984 was at 188 Broadway..3rd floor walkup, Big 1 bed/1 bath. My boyfriend was born at the Chelsea Naval Hospital. That new housing is likely due to Democrats Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing which is a plan to DESTROY local control of zoning. Its happin Everett as well.
