I enjoyed this sharing… I have always been fascinated by and drawn to the spirit of Native American communities… I have always been attracted to the colorful culture, beliefs, and nature-centered origins that my own clans have long forgotten. I am envious of your culture and I carry shame for the actions of my forefathers. Your culture is rich, and I hope it is never lost… with the leadership you mention in this short film, there is hope that your community will always be available for others to admire and love. It is more difficult to discriminate or to be against a culture, a people who you have learn something very unique and beautiful about… a people that you know a little better, you find humanity and expression in common, and beyond that, a unique beauty and way of life, worthy of admiration and awe. A neighbor to be fascinated by, and to learn from. To admire and to beg welcome, despite a history filled with falsehood, ignorance, and the worst face that any culture could have expressed to another.

My family used to live in beautiful Lac Du Flambeau. We live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but we always drove up north to see them. I have so many great memories of my family there. I will never forget the beauty of nature there too 🥰

Keeshkemun is my 6th great grandfather.
I haven't lived in Wisconsin for over 30 years and didn't grow up learning much about this side of my family.

I never had much of a chance to explore and learn my mother's side of the family and our culture since we lived too far south to regularly visit the region. But I always loved hearing stories my maternal grandmother had of growing up around the lake, of the people, and the land. It's been almost six years since I was last able to visit when we went to spread her ashes on the grounds of her childhood home and I can't wait to go back and educate myself more about my ancestry and heritage

OH, It was grand to hear you speak Ernie. We have someone in common, Martha. No it did not last ,as I was too much of a Gaia soul. Peter was ten at the time.
I feel terrifically honored to have this circuitous connection.
I have always been visited by bears, haha, and Sasquatch.
    Total respect to you sir.

During the exercising of spearing rights there was a sticker going around, "Save a fish spear an Indian"
I would write on them, "Save an Indian, spear a racist"
Those poor boys always backed down when they said they would spear me and I said, let's dance.
    ---------------------------------------
Who knows on which lands my feet have trod through the epochs. I have always felt a connection to the Anishinabe. As a child The song of Hiawatha stirred me to goosebumps.

I have had much trouble between being ojibwe and being where I am here h. The south due to my mother moving. I use videos like these to kinda explain my culture to friends. This is how I am odd...

Sabé is Bigfoot, a tribe of people's around the world. They live in this world and the Spirit World. No bodies or bones will be found. Lol. Finding Bigfoot? They Find You, you don't find Them. Lol. I love my hairy brothers and sisters. They have given me a gift. A gift of protection, wisdom, and understanding. I walk unimpeded everywhere. City to woods, safe always. I sleep like a baby in a tent, especially when I know they are around. I gave up hunting. They don't want me to. I killed one deer when my family needed it. Since then, I've never filled a hunting tag. Maine, Montana, North Dakota, Alaska, and Idaho. Never filled a deer, elk, or bear tags. An enigma I can kind of explain. Thank you for reading. Non Christian, Native American Indian! Hoka Hay!
