I love Deacon’s lawyer so much. Competent, professional, makes sense, seems like an actual lawyer, and most importantly, sets firm boundaries and doesn’t take garbage from the Forrester. Amber: “Can you take him another night? We were supposed to use his telescope tonight, see the constellations. Lawyer, firmly: “They’ll be there tomorrow.”
Deacon's end game is clear here. He wants to sit down with the lawyers and work out an agreement that's _fair for everyone._ He is _not_ trying to take Little Eric away from Rick and Amber, even now that he actually _has full custody._ He wants what's best for the child, and doesn't intend to keep him away from his other family - unlike Rick who was trying to keep Deacon away from Little Eric completely. Deacon is clearly the reasonable one.
Very interesting that there is never one more spoken about that little boy not to mention they never talk about Amber and she was a very interesting character on the show.
@@kimberlykidd3755 It's similar to Jack. Brooke made Taylor's life hell and suddenly acted like a loving mother because he came from her egg. And today? The boy is no longer in their lives or minds.
Today’s scenes with Brooke and Macy honestly made me tremble with anger. For a woman who casual pops a kid out every time she sneezes to taunt her enemy about her inability to have a child, and even go so far as to lecture her about adoption . . .seriously, screw the character of Brooke and this show. Too much.
The mismatch between Rick/Amber and Little Eric/Deacon in the scene where Little Eric departs with Deacon is unintentionally hilarious. Rick is glowering ominously, Amber is on the verge of wailing, ominous background is playing . . .and meanwhile, Deacon is friendly and casual, Little E is clearly delighted to see him, and the two are joking together in a natural rhythm. If the show was trying to portray a child cruelly torn from the only home he’s known, they really failed. 😂
Yes, I have been saying the same thing - it really affects how we interpret the storyline that this kid is so much more enthusiastic when he interacts with Deacon and Macy than he is with Rick and Amber. And this is supported in the script too, with Eric clearly enjoying his time with his father and Macy.
Dare I say that Amber and Rick also sound a bit overdramatic, or Rick more specifically? Deacon is trying to be rational and fair in thinking about how the custody agreement could proceed. Rick is defensive, and acts like Deacon wants to take Little Eric away for eternity.
@@leviaj1 yes - Deacon is talking about an arrangement where they are _all_ a part of Eric's life. Amber and Rick aren't going to lose him. Plenty of parents have shared custody.
The only thing worse than Brooke being an uninvolved mother is Brooke being an involved mother😂. Rick and Amber should have called Stephanie. Only the Queen could handle this situation with the rationality, nuance and sensitivity it requires.
*Macy as Director* When Brooke is saying that "somebody is behind the scenes puIIing the strings", she is implying that Deacon is just a puppet, and that the real Director of the plot is someone else. And although Deacon has a will of his own (which Brooke underestimates), it is true that he could not have come this far without Macy's encouragement and support. This is a rare instance of Macy taking control of the plot (together with Deacon) in a way we haven't seen her do since the Anthony storyline. And there are similarities between the two storylines, from Macy's point of view. In both cases, she sees a man who has been wronged, and she takes it upon herself to bring justice to both him and the person who has wronged him. But in doing so, Macy is walking a very fine line. In order to keep her Good Girl archetype, she can't seek personal revenge but must be motivated by the greater good - she can, however, _avenge_ an injustice, and seek _vindication_ for someone who has been treated unfairly, because in both these cases she has justice on her side. Objectively, it would appear that Macy is staying in character because what she is doing _is_ for the good of the children. But there is some ambiguity, as shown by Sally (who knows her better than anyone) questioning Macy about her motivations. And Macy's replies are convincing, proving that her conscious motivations are still within the limits of the Good Girl archetype, but still it is implied that there may be something darker underneath.
@@Html962 but that is not how it plays out. Macy's death is Oscar Marone's fauIt and has nothing to do with her rivalry with Brooke. @Html962 karma is usually understood as punishment for bad actions (and, in terms of storytelling, it is only really satisfying if there is a connection to the misdeed). Macy doesn't deserve to die simply because she is _feeling angry._ She isn't even doing anything bad to Brooke, or to anyone.

Sally and Deacon have both commented on Macy's "natural maternal instincts". This is the kind of writing that could easily become "telling" rather than "showing", especially since we don't really get very many scenes with Macy and the children. Luckily, BE really does work very well with the child actors, engages with them on their leveI, and improvises responses based on their input (like when she makes the plush pig mirror Eric's voice and movements), so that the children are actually _active scene partners_ and aren't just moved around like props. There really is a difference compared to the scene yesterday where Little Eric was standing awkwardly watching while Rick and Amber played cards, until Amber decided to go and give him a hug he clearly didn't want. SK is also great with the kids, which makes it that much easier to root for Deacon in this storyline.
Brooke did make things worse and shouldn't have interfered but rick and amber were blowing things out of proportion. If they were more calm things would not have escalated. The hate between brooke and macy didn't help. So a family is torn apart and amber almost killed. God knows what will happen to little erik.
What will destroy everything is the restraining order, which Brooke and Rick arrange without Amber's knowledge, even though Amber - not Rick - is the one with parental rights. If they had let Amber handIe the situation, she would have worked something out with Deacon and Macy.
@annieo6527 Yes I agree the restraining order was unnecessary made things worse. This us an example however how Ridge runs to brooke's defense. This is why they are a perfect couple.
