This is lovely. I have the Toshiba Daiseikai RAS-13. It is really tricky to disassemble for cleaning. Invisible clips holding panels & those airflow guides etc :-/ I wonder why the household machinery & car manufacturers do not take notice from PC sector where everything can be put together and disassembled with screws that are visible to users. These invisible clips and "push here, twist there and turn 540 degrees while changing ancient druidic rituals" to open a panel do not impress me much. I love the work you do to make basic maintenance possible for end users. Keep it up.
You don't understand why they do it like this? They do it like this to discourage as many people as possible from doing it themselves and to increase likelihood of damage if attempting it so you have to pay Toshiba-licensed companies to do it for you.
I have Shorai Edge 18000BTU model and not very impressed by indoor unit. It makes whistling noises, blower fan does not spin completely straight (my cheap midea is perfectly straight), there is faint ticking noise coming somewhere from the blower. Unit is shaking sometime - if I put my hand on it I can feel the vibrations. Cheapo Midea Blanc - I don't know the indoor unit is running. I'm pretty sad from this. I've expected better quality from Toshiba.
Hi, thanks for these helpful videos. The Toshiba’s seem to be the easiest to service from all A brands, especially taking out the ventilator wheel. I am interested in the Shorai Edge. I have a mould problem in my current units (chinese B brand), which are very difficult to service and is only partly disassemmable. I also like the auto clean function on the Toshiba (ventilator stays on to dry interior of the unit for 30 min after cooling function). Do you know if the shorai edge (2020 model) is similar on the interior than the Shorai 2019 model? Thanks a lot!
All Toshiba hi-wall units are service friendly, but the high end models like Daiseikai are much harder to disassemble due to plasma filters etc. Edge model is not yet at our markets. Avoid chinese brands, they are not cheap enough and can be impossible to service.
Thank you SO much, there's no way I'd have worked out how to do this otherwise, and toshiba has ZERO manuals or guides.

Did you buy Shorai Edge at the end ?
Toshiba shorai Edge or Daikin ftxm?
Bullshit. You try taking the covers of the fan off like that and it will snap
