Chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol reacts to the news that Liverpool have opened negotiations with Feyenoord about hiring Arne Slot as their new manager.
Sky Sports News reported on Tuesday that Slot is at the forefront of Liverpool's search for Jurgen Klopp's replacement.
The Feyenoord head coach ticks all their key criteria for the position and sources in Holland indicate the process could move quickly with the 45-year-old keen to join the Anfield club.

We need to remember, the style of play and players used feeds right down the levels at LFC from the 1st team down to U18's, etc. These young players have been taught the Klopp system so they can seamlessly fit into the 1st team when their chance comes. Slot plays very similar football and uses similar formations. It makes absolute sense to me as if Amorim or even Alonso came in, it would have meant a step away from the current type of football we have come to expect from LFC. It might still change under Slot or whoever but it will be a more gradual change than an immediate jolt to the system. This all makes sense to me and above all else, Arne Slot seems like a decent human being which means a hell of a lot after having Klopp.

Spot on mate. People seem to forget how our whole club at every level is geared to play a certain way! That why I don’t see the logic in Alonso. I think this is a bold, but very clever choice. People going on about attracting big name players…when do we buy big name players? I expect us to be finding diamonds in the rough that Slot can then bring on.

He looks to have a fair bit of potential, has done very well with AZ and Feyenoord, and Liverpool always fancy a shot at the 'next big thing'. But the step up from Eredivisie to Premier League is huge, it's gonna be a big leap for both Slot and Liverpool.

I don’t know much about this guy, basically just what I’ve learned over the last few days, but then what did anyone know about Amorim? I trust the Liverpool management, they seem to operate very dispassionately keeping emotion out of it, so hopefully this guy will do well. I hope that fans will support him and give him a chance and see how it goes.

the problem with replacing such a successful coach as Klopp, is that fans WILL compare the new coach with Klopp.
