Good Ile TTF. 👊 I shot TTF forever before shooting mainly OTT. My reason is bc I'm a long distance shooter and OTT is much better for that purpose.

Thanks for the great video. Going to try ttf tomorrow, just a 78 year old rookie willing to try anything for accuracy! Maybe I can learn the difference between grits and cream of wheat? Never heard of grits or how to eat them until got the Camp Lejeune, N.C., and my buddy Charlie Arnold said you don't put butter and cinnamon on them!
I’m definitely curious to maybe try this since Scout XT can do both. Either way it’s always a fun hobby to do no matter what you’re slinging. Good cap to a nice afternoon.

I’m new again to slingshot shooting since the early 80s but I heard the opposite that ttf was easier for beginners so that’s how I set up my beanflip and been having a blast for 3 weeks now with no frame or finger hits but I’ll have to try ott to compare myself and great videos, keep em coming

I just got my first slingshot, I set it up for thru the forks, never tried any other way, works so far, I thought this would be more accurate

I've played with both styles, although I have vastly more experience with Ott. I agree that TTF isn't the best option for a new shooter from a safety perspective. The lack of finger slap is definitely a bonus to TTF. Ultimately I stuck with OTT because I switched to butterfly and loading TTF in reverse grip is a bit awkward. With OTT, I just point the forks at the ground, load as I normally do and I'm automatically in reverse grip. The bands don't hang as neatly when you do that with a TTF and it requires more mucking about.

I am OTT but I do plan to try TTF this sping as soon as it warms up.

@@411Outdoors I know it's horrible to think this way but I don't much see myself liking it because OTT is so comfortable. Especially with a nice pinch grip.
I have to admit I haven't tried TTF yet but I have only been at this a couple months and 2k rounds of clay. I do have two frames that could be TTF as well as OTT so I do have to get over the fear of change!
I am Ttf since my aul fella made me a plywood frame and strips of bicycle inner tube in the 70s. That doesn’t make it better just what I’m used too. I might try OTT because it’s meant to be fun. I won’t be culling any pine cones at 10mtrs I can’t read a clock at 2.!

Over the top shooting is pretty new to me I normally shoot a vintage crosman wrist rocket but got into over the top about 10 or so years ago with the little Chinese aluminum frame slingshots I love both and not much different to me but I have killed a bunch of deer with my crosman slingshot though

I am just the opposite. I started out TTF with a slot method attachment with a frame simple shot used to sell called the peerless. I still like TTF but have also adapted to OTT and most of the frames I make are OTT now. Nice job!

When shooting OTT the bands are twisted 90 degrees. When shooting TTF the bands are straight. When shooting round ammo I shoot TTF for more accuracy but when shooting darts I shoot OTT to keep the dart as far away from my hand as far as possible.

I had slingshots when I was a kid, I always thought that you were supposed to shoot through the fork. What is "over the top?"
It’s just where are you mount the bands on the top of the fork verses on the sides

Most slingshot shooters don’t shoot moving targets. Moving targets are overrated anyway. I’ve learned that it’s all muscle memory. I mean, when I take a squirrel he won’t be moving before or after 😂. He’s just gonna be chilling on a limb thinking about what he’s gonna do next lol
