  • This is the first of a 4 part mini series: we are learning to use WinISD and exploring Jean Hiraga's iconic LePetit. How did he design them, and why? What does the cabinet size account for, and what the driver size?
    Loudspeaker design considerations looked at.

Hey Janos, thank you for translating and sharing with an international audience. I am really interested to find out what you think about it and to learn more about this great speaker. Thank you for mentioning my channel. Can't wait to see the next episode.

Thank you Torsten! I'm happy to refer to your channel & video - this is such an iconic speaker, it deserves to be much better known and you have done a superb presentation. Here, in this little mini series I'm combining analyzing its inner working with learning how to use WinISD.
Weird, YT just showed your post, as channel owner I could not see most of the comments until now.

Wow! Very interested in this series and hoping to learn a lot! First time I heard about the LePetit was in the Snake Oil Audio channel, so only very recently

Hi Thiago, I knew of LePetit for a long while, I have the article, yet Snake Oil Audio's report was also the first time for me to hear feedback on it. :)

Thanks a lot, Janos!! Love this project and I'm also in the design process for your darling amp level 1/2 you presented some time ago. Would assume that those comby have a good synergy? Also difficult to find this drivers, alternatives?

Yes, they would have a superb synergy! The Fostex FE126NV is a similar driver to the FE103sigma, I would use that for the project. (It might be even a little better ; ).

@@realworldaudio thanks! But it seems chassis is much more complicated as backloaded horn type enclosure is recommended by many diy'ers for this driver version? Thanks a lot for even commenting & helping here!!!
