This is my last video of 2022, although it may be going up on New Years.
I still need to film my inkvent calendar review, but it will be coming shortly.
I love all of these pens! Most of these are my new ones. I used these throughout December.
I feel January Inked will bring lots of blues and grays but we will see!

I've always had a crush on those cases. They are so unique and attainable.

I love my Benu pens too! I have Talisman Dream beans and Euphoria Bourbon. I think you’ll love Bourbon as well. Benu Talisman and Euphoria pens are bigger # 6nibs. Similar size to Pilot Custom 823 nib. I replaced my Lamy safari nib twice and they were always either easily misaligned or scratch.😂😢 I have Yuruliku tool case in black and ‘cause of there are no cushion to protect fountain pens I just store misc. pens and rulers with hobonichi note pads for travel. Love your choices with inks and pens. I gotta try Cocoa Shimmer in my Bourbon. 🤔❤ Love listening to your voice. Thank you for sharing.😊
I’ll have to check out the Bourbon, they have such beautiful pens to pick from and can’t wait to see what else they come out with this year. Ah, I see thanks for letting me about the nib sizes, I wasn’t expecting it when I purchased it. And oh no about the Lamy nib, I hope Lamy’s quality control improves in the future or else I’ll stay away. I do love the look of their pens though. It’s a shame. I love the Yuruliku case so far, I luckily have the pen sleeve to put in for my more precious pens or else it wouldn’t work for me. It’s just on my desk these days. Have a wonderful new year! :)

Looks like I’ll just get a refund for the cost of the nib as it’s too expensive to ship again from UK to CAN. It’s totally understandable though.
Very nice choice of pens and inks, congratulations ! You are not the only one who had issues with Lamy steel nibs. And yes their scratchiness "survives" any trial to align the tines. I ended up giving away all of them.
That makes me sad to read, I don’t want to give up on my Lamy yet but I know what you mean. I don’t understand why the nibs are so faulty because I don’t get this with other manufacturers at all! I’ll probably try to straighten out the nibs or smooth it out but that’s going to be my last attempt at any lamy purchases in the next little while. They do have nice looking pens :(
I like the look of this case, just wish it had separate slots for the pens. The Kaweco is so pretty, first time I’ve seen that one….and love your little pilea plant!
Yuruliku makes a smaller case that has three pen slots built in! It's on my wishlist and sells out so quickly. You might like that one. Thx for watching 🙂👌🏻🌿

Very cool case ! I like that you can carry more than 3 pens in one pouch, because when I travel I currently take more than one pouch .
I have my Benu Venus inked with the same , it's the perfect combo !
Most of my pen cases carries 3 fountain pens, this Yuruliku case definitely allows for 5 fountain pens plus more. Just be careful if you decide to get it that it is better to use pen sleeves in it for precious fountain pens. My Rickshaw sleeve fits right in perfectly but any sleeve should work. It can also fit a Hobonichi weeks or Nolty.
What a nice new case! I hope that you can get a new nib for your Lamy. I've had so many issues with Lamy pens that no matter how pretty a new pen might be I've decided that I won't get one. I'm sure if you tell the company that you were waiting to unbox it for Christmas time, they will understand why it's taken you awhile to reach out about the nib. Your ink selection is beautiful!! I hope that you had a lovely Christmas time and a fun New Year's eve, and that 2023 will bring you health, happiness, and prosperity!
Looks like I will have to source my replacement nib locally, I think I’m done with Lamy for the next while because it’s kinda ridiculous at this point. This is the second replacement nib on the safari series I’ve had to pay for, the first one was replaced for free from another shop. I really like the look and shape of the pen so it’s sad. Hope you’re having a good start to the new year! :)
I've had problems with smaller Lamy nibs, but on the other hand I love my one Lamy broad nib.
Yes, I heard that broader nibs have less issues (Mediums, Broad) Enjoy the Lamy!
I love your ink choices. I bought the Venus Hair after seeing yours and I love it. I got the M nib, but wish I had gotten a F. Just waiting for a F nib unit to come back in stock at US retailers because they are nowhere to be found. Also glad to hear you're enjoying yuruliku brand. I didn't like how flimsy they are and so sold mine. I recommend Lochby Quattro if you want to carry 4-5 pens, or Hurlestone if you want to carry 2-4 pens.
I hope you can get a F nib for your Venus Hair, I was surprised that their nib runs pretty wet for a fine nib! It actually writes like a medium. I was so close to choosing a Medium. I think it’s good it runs wet, no need to worry about using shimmer inks in their pens. It’s too bad you didn’t like the Yuruliku case, I love it so much! If I didn’t have the rickshaw pen sleeves it probably wouldn’t work for me. Thanks for the Lochby rec, I’ve checked them out it looks well built too. I love Hurlestone cases and have a 3 pen one.
Well that’s a great pen pouch, haha! I might have to add that to the list as well. Such a bummer about the Lamy nib! That’s so frustrating! No good Lamy! They can and should do better than that. I was a bit disappointed to open up a new aluminum Safari to discover it didn’t come with a converter. I felt like at that price point, it definitely should have one, so I was a bit bummed. The Cultpens Kaweco exclusive is gorgeous!!!

The yuruliku pouches have zero cushion or stability, so be warned. They offer no protection for fountain pens that you actually care for. I sold mine within a week of receiving it 😜.
It is a great pouch, I love the feel of the material too - the build is of great quality seems like. I think the Rickshaw sleeves fit so well in it for the more precious pens! Otherwise it wouldn’t work for me. I think I’m done with Lamy for the next little while. Thanks so much for watching, I love your pen collection!!!
I love your new case; it looks like it could also hold some currency in it also. Your pens are very nice also. Where do you get yours? That scratchy nib on the Lamy can probably just be lightly sanded down with a piece of very fine sandpaper or you could take it to your local pen shop and they probably have a nib miester on staff who could do it for you.
Thanks for your suggestions, I think it’s good for me to have some micro mesh on hand to sand down if this ever happens in the future too. I purchased the Lamy at Cult Pens. The case I purchased from 26 Market.
My first Lamy was very scratchy and wouldn’t always write a line. It took time but I did a couple things which seem to have fixed the issue. 1) I flossed between the times. 2) I took the nib off of the feed and washed the pen. 3) I pressed down on the nib to align the tines (probably not smart but oh well)
I tried pressing down the nib to align the tines, didn’t really press down hard, didn’t make a difference. I need to get my hands on some micro mesh or brass sheets - I suspect if I tried those it might smooth it out. I’ll see what happens next.
Lamy is a great pen to try tuning your nib with - because you can replace the nib and it's cheap. If the tines look in line through magnification, then probably it just needs a bit of a polish. You can buy polishing paper from goulet or you can use a nail buffer - just use the buffer part NOT the file part. Also, I recommend taking a look at whether your tines are too far apart. That may be why you're catching a lot of paper in between them and it may be feeling scratchy as a result. There are videos on youtube on how to bring the tines closer together. Good luck!!
thanks so much for the recommendation for the diagnosis! I’m hoping to buy the brass sheets and micro mesh from Goulet soon. I haven’t tried tuning or smoothing out my nibs before. I think it’s about time! Darn it Lamy, you got me again!
@@toxmot I hear you - Lamy got me like that too. But when those nibs are tuned, I do really like the Safaris - especially the matte ones like your cream one! Super durable, and low maintenance! So it's worth it! (at least that's what I"m telling myself every time I tune a Lamy nib! LOL) Wishing you all the luck and sending you positive vibes on your tuning mission! And remember, the worst thing that can happen is that you have to replace the nib, which is easy AND cheap, so it's low risk. And when you get it right, it is SO satisfying! :)
Considering the size, I was expecting to to carry small amount of pens. But there is a decent space for favourite pens when travelling! I use the delfonics utility pouch. It's not exactly a pen case but I always have a hardtime on which stationery to carry so "normal" pen case doesn't work for me 😆😅
I can recommend this case but for precious pens it's better to get a sleeve to slide in. The good thing is that there is fabric lining the pens when it's closed. The pens are all touching though. So pen sleeve really helps to protect my precious pens. I love this case so much! I can see myself using this long term.
Suggestion for your Lamy pen, 86 it. Sorry but I have had bad luck with all Lamys I’ve purchased. Love your Kaweco pen/ink combo
Hah thanks, I will try to get a replacement nib as I got the refund for the faulty nib. But may never get another Safari :(

I recently bought Kaweco Student and it gave me hard times with this paper sticking in the nib (nib size B) and I even made a Foto with lupe and could see how much of paper was there). I was about contacting the shop I bought this Kaweco, but then I tried to push nip against paper harder (not writing or gliding through paper), just like you try to write with calligraphy pen with your downstrokes and it made my nib write normally, now I didn’t have any issues till then
Hm, it could be the misaligned nib - but I'm not sure. I don't have the Kaweco Student although I had my eye on it for years. Glad it was just a fluke and a quick easy fix for it.
Really like your pen case! I bet it stacks so well on top of your travelers! I also LOVE your travelers haha I really like seeing them get scratches and stuff it builds character for them. :)

This is a personal opinion though but I really dislike kawecos. Im sure they make for really great pens and I really like that color but I just hate their design. I think they look obese and ugly 😅
That amazing Venus's Hair fountain pen reminds me of a fancy glass of champagne! That ink is sooo peeeerfect for it!
Hi, Yes, I love the Yuruliku pen case so much I want to get the 3 pen case too. I couldn't resist a sparkly Kaweco but as for usage I don't find myself using it all the time. I wonder why. I seem to use my Lamy Safari a lot more. You do have a point. It's a bit of a clunky form. thanks so much for watching!
May I ask where you get your Rickshaw pen sleeve and cases from?
I bought the Richshaw pen sleeve from a pen show and the other case Yuruliku is from 26 Market. Hope that helps!
