How would I use this if I want the future events to show now, without waiting for the event to trigger to show it weekly?

You will want to build out that task list and set your automation to add based on a setting such as a tag or checked field. For example, you could add a column that is a single select field for task types and when a specific type is set like "start now" it adds to your task list.
