Air Bud is a classic. Probably don't have to watch all the sequels though unless you run out of other movies, because they're all pretty much the same. You should check out the 1st Air Buddies one though. Those are pretty cute.
Actually the coach who abused Tom was not his father, because Tom's father was actually a farmer, and appears in the baseball Air Bud film and had a great relationship with his son.
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. The music is so nostalgic and iconic to me! It's such a sweet story. I know geese aren't dogs but if you like this movie, I highly recommend "Fly Away Home". It has the same vibe as this movie does and it's another animal movie I really enjoyed as a kid. It's about a girl who raises orphaned geese and has to teach them how to migrate, along with her father who she'd sort of fallen out with before. I'd love to see you check it out!
Yassssss I watched this! Also Alaska and the Great Panda Adventure. And Zeus and Roxanne. Andre...bringing back memories of all my childhood animal movies lol.
I haven’t seen this movie in ages! I remember watching it almost every time it aired on the Disney channel when I was young. Those were good times back then.😌
Same. Disney Channel was usually the go-to network for good movies (Disney and non-Disney) and their own TV films. The late 90s-early 2000s will always be the best era for such!
You really need to check out "Shiloh" and "Where the Red Fern Grows" (newer version) because those are instant classics as well and are very good ones to react to. Must watch. Nobody else has really done them.
The villain of the film Norman Snively (played by the late Michael Jeter) is quite a shift from Jeter’s nice personality he’s done in other roles. Jeter also has a penchant for starring with or in a movie involving animals. Air Bud, Mousehunt, The Green Mile, Jurassic Park III, and his last film The Polar Express to name a few.
Aww Air Bud! one of my favourite childhood movies. funny story on how I got the DVD. So back in the day they use to put toys and stuff in cereal box's. And even sometimes DVDs or Games you could play on a computer. 😊
I just now realized that Buddy buried the newspapers because the clown hit him with them and so he was hiding them. I guess my kid brain wouldn't let me register that lol
Fun fact: I saw this film mere months after the death of my first dog, a yellow lab. It made me want a golden and another month after seeing the film, my parents surprised me with one. My parent divorced around the time the sequel came out, and my mom got rid of Rusty after just one year (For the record I no longer blame her. She couldn't handle such an active dog.) The sequel actually helped my accept my stepmom when, like in the film, it was mad clear my stepmom was NOT TRYING TO REPLACE MY MOM AT ALL (Though...Unlike all this films, my biological mom was alive and well, and split custody had me seeing both pretty evenly and they were/still are on FRIENDLY TERMS...Just....out of love.) But anyway my mom decided to buy ANOTHER Golden, but and older one this time. And ONCE AGAIN got rid of him despite him being older. Now in A GREAT TWIST my stepmom decided to go full AIR BUD hero and take Jake in. In fact after his death (He was older so) we have had 2 more Goldens. One lived over a decade and the other is about to turn 3. Even my mom is happy. Despite a massive failure when she tried a Brown lab for a year (and then gave him to a farm where I hear he's become a SHOCKINGLY GOOD FARM DOG) she did manage to crate train a Shih Tzu she couldn't get rid of (as in she had a strong connection) and when Abby died... despite us no longer being with her I was shocked to hear she got another Shih Tzu after retirement and despite being more rambunctious, Annie is still manageable Point is AIR BUD changed the way we all saw dogs. I realized some people can't handle them. Sometimes dogs swapping owners is best. And some people...are better than you think (Talking about how I would never come to love my new stopmom and...Now decades later couldn't see a life without her...AS ANNOYING AS SHE IS LOL)
Glad you did a reaction to one of my favorite childhood movies!!! Don’t believe what others said. I recommend watching the other sequels. But don’t watch the 5th sequel “Air Bud Strikes Back.” But the 2nd one, 3rd & 4th are amazing! Buddy plays other sports than basketball! And they Brought the same actor who played Josh in this film!
Could you also do all the sequels? Air Bud Golden Receiver (1998) Air Bud World Pup (2000) Air Bud Seventh Inning Fetch (2002) Air Bud Spikes Back (2003) Air Buddies (2006) Snow Buddies (2008) Space Buddies (2009) Santa Buddies (2009) Spooky Buddies (2011) Treasure Buddies (2012) Super Buddies (2013)
I love this movie so much. I used to watch it frequently when I was a kid. And I have this movie on VHS and DVD. I need to upgrade this to at least standard Blu-ray. And if I remember right, I believe the last time I seen this movie was in 2015 when my parents were out of town. lol. I ordered three different large pizzas, a 2-L Dr. Pepper, and some breadsticks while binging a lot of movies. lol
Dude this is such a classic from my childhood that I choked up as soon as I heard the music lol... Then when he sets him free total tears streaming smh. #YouShouldWatch Fly Away Home!!!! So good can't emphasize it enough its a beautiful film. Also Fluke, Flicka 2008, Free Willy all 3, Paulie 1998, Zeus & Roxanne, and My Dog Skip. Other films non animal theme, Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood a phenomenal cast, great story! Also Newsies total favorite, Quest for Camelot, The Indian in the Cupboard, A Little Princess 1995 so good tearjerker, and The Mummy 1999 and its sequel The Mummy Returns 2001 so great they are 2 of my top fav films ever. Thanks for the reaction glad you liked Air Bud : )
this is such a classic, can never forget how much I kept watching the whole Air Bud series as a kid, it was such a great time :) it felt good watching it again with you :)
I watched this over and over as a kid, had a golden retriever growing up, Jake so this and homeward bound have a special place for me! Would love to see your reaction to North (1994) it's with elijah wood with a ton of other major people
Okay, the beginning makes me notice one thing I apparently never questioned as a kid: Who the hell hits something *that* large in the middle of the road and not only doesn't get out to see what it is (or even what damage it may have done to the car), but also doesn't *move it out of the road*?
Awesome choice. I remember seeing the preview for this movie before every other late 90's movie it felt like. 😅 Love anything with animals in it so this was so cute. Btw another dog series I loved from my childhood was Shiloh (1996) which also has a sequel, Shiloh 2: Shiloh Season (1999), and a third film, Saving Shiloh (2006). Just recommending them in case you're interested in more cute animal movies. 💕
Nope. This is proven false as of recently. Yes,Comet was a dog of the same species as Buddy, but they're not one in the same. By the way,Comet passed away at the age of 18 while Buddy,A.K.A Old Blue, passed away by the age of 9. Comet died last year, when le Buddy died in 1998. Hovewer,Comet did continue Air Bud's legacy after Buddy passed away though.
After watching this reaction video, I’ve gotta watch “Air Bud” now. Plus I’ve always wanted to see it after watching one of the sequels and the spin off movie Air Buddies.
Lovely reaction, dog movies are always a hit ❤️ If you decide to react to any of the other Air Bud movies or Air Buddies then I'll be excited to watch that too, there's plenty to pick from
I highly recommend the sequels or the spin off film series Air Buddies. Other movies by the same company I recommend are the MVP: Most Valuable Primate trilogy, Santa Paws 1-2, and Russell Mania. I also recommend the Beethoven film series and the Shiloh trilogy as well. If you didn’t catch it, Buddy hides the newspapers because his ex-owner abused him with it until Buddy destroyed it in the final stand off. Also he is called Air Bud because he can jump really high, just like when we call Michael Jordan Air Jordan🐶🏀🏈⚽️⚾️🏐
Hello Nick! I hope you are very well. I'm glad you watch the movie Air Bud. Without a doubt, for me it is the best of all, although I also like it when Buddy plays baseball and volleyball (hopefully you can see the films of the Buddy franchise) I recommend that you watch the film Two Brothers (2004) which is about two tigers. Take good care Nick and I look forward to your next reaction.
The boy playing Josh played in the Movie called Nico the unicorn It was a beautiful movie. If you can find it, I'd like to see someone react to it. Because no one ever has.
I watched this so much as a kid, it brings back memories! 😊 If you like movies about dogs, you’d probably really enjoy the Shiloh trilogy if you haven’t already seen those. Granted the star isn’t a golden retriever, but still! ^^
Was not expecting to see this movie show up in my feed. :D Classic Movie! Had to write this before seeing the reaction, so now, on to watching the reaction!!! 🍿
Nick,I can answer you about how and why Buddy can play Basketball. There is a real life story about this specific dog. Buddy was found by Kevin Di Cicco as a stray dog in the Sierra Nevada in the Summer of 1989. He adopted the dishelved Golden Retriver and brought him home to San Diego,California, where he trained the dog in the sports of Basketball,Baseball,Football,Soccer and Hockey. Buddy's most eagerly awaited sport was Basketball. Di Cicco revealed that Buddy tried the bite the ball, but its slipperiness, enchanted by saliva or more efficiently by olive oil, would propel it from his mouth. His first appearance was on America's Funniest Home Videos. He then trained further fame bouncing a basketball off his muzzle and into a basketball hoop on the Stupid Pet Tricks segment of Late Night With David Letterman. In 1997,Buddy had his right hind leg amputated due to synovial cell sarcoma,a type of Cancer that manifests near his joints, although he was still able to play Basketball. Six months later,Buddy died in his sleep due to complications from Cancer on February 10th in 1998,at his owner's San Diego home. At the time of his death,Buddy was 9 years old. The movie is based on Buddy and Kevin's story. Comet, the Golden Retriever from Full House, was meant to replace Buddy for the sequels in order to keep his legacy. Prior to Buddy's death,he sired nine puppies. However,Kevin trained 3 of Buddy's offsprings for sports, just like Buddy. The puppies were signed to an endorsement deal by DiCicco fo4 Milk-Bone dog biscuits for puppies. He intended to make his own sequel titled Air Bud: The Nest Generation, which was scheduled to start production in the Fall of 1999,with the concept being a cross between Ferris Bueller and Hoke Alone, which sadly never happened unfortunately. Also, the clown in this movie, was actually an alcoholic owner, which explains why he's abusive and why he sucks with his clown job. This is why they mentioned the beers. The place was actually an abandoned church. The coach was'nt Larry's father,by the way. I know,it was confusing. But that coach's name was Joe Barker,so no he's not Larry's father. He was just an abusive coach who abused and punished Larry, which got him fired. Larry's father appeared in the fourth movie. Andea, the little sister, will become an important character later on in the sequels, plus both her and Josh grows up in each sequels. The sequel,Air Bud: Golden Reciever,is dedicated in memory of Buddy, who died several months before the sequel's release.
YOOOOO, you should also see the Buddies movies as well !! it's about 5 golden retriever puppies who are Siblings and their Father is Air Bud, and they talk ! great reaction as always Nick !
Love this movie and I'm glad you enjoyed it! If you're thinking of branching into underdog/inspirational sports movies, I'd recommend Angels in the Outfield, Rudy, and The Big Green.
I have always enjoyed the actor who plays the bad guy, he does a good job when ever he's on screen 😊 even if that job is being "a bad guy" 😅 We would say, "he's a jerk/I don't like him... that's the point, he's a very good actor playing a bad guy.... I should go check his filmography... I know he's in Patch Adams and Jurassic Park 3... Liked his acting in both but love the story and Robin Williams in Patch Adams.
Please can you react to A monster calls A Monster Calls deftly balances dark themes and fantastical elements to deliver an engrossing and uncommonly moving entry in the crowded coming-of-age genre. I cried so much in this movie
I like how you figure the Air in the title means he flies. lol When it came out it was pretty much assumed that everyone knew Michael Jordan's nickname Air Jordan! So my brain has always put Air in that context... basketball.
I love this movie and just recently rewatch it there a certain scene that still makes me tear up *even though I don’t normally show emotion* but what make this movie and the other movie homeward bound work is the music score of the film *I even and got myself the soundtrack of both movies* 13:29 you know for the longest time I never understood why he took the newspaper until I look it up. Turns out his old owner would use that as a threating manner, so he has a fear of the newspaper. My family have a golden retriever and when we got him from this guy and when he was a puppy, he had a fear of the moving trash bins *I think the guy we got him from would scare him with it or smth* eventually he got over that fear seeing that we’re not using it in a threating manner
34:33 i live not to far where this movie was filmed every time i see the town hall i get a little emotional because it reminds of the ending of this movie

(I already commented but I wanna add more) u should really watch bubble if u easily fall in love with a movie’s scenery and it is an anime so it is in Japanese but it also has English voicing but I would recommend the Japanese voicing with subtitles or watch a silent voice it’s also a really pretty anime and it’s a sad movie to
Maybe you can try watch "Mighty Joe Young" from 1998. Long time I saw that one but I remember I loved that movie when I was young even tho I didn't know english back then
It's a bit odd seeing Michael Jeter play such a jerk. Normally he was always so likeable in his performances. If I remember correctly, he also reassured kids who had seen Air Bud that he was not like that terrible clown whatsoever. R.I.P. dude.
I will say the sequel with the football 🏈, if memory serves me correctly was also good but anything after that was meh. In case you do end up checking out the others .
Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction!! See you next for Hotel Transylvania 2 and Charlottes Web (1973)!!
React to the Haunted Mansion movie next please 🥺
React to the Page Master movie
finally
Just make sure not to see the 5 air bud film or Milo and Otis, both had animal cruelty on set
What about Robots?

There was actually another Air Bud movie before that.
Yes I loved the buddies movies as a kid
And they still got some charm in them even though they aren’t perfect 😂
Actually the coach who abused Tom was not his father, because Tom's father was actually a farmer, and appears in the baseball Air Bud film and had a great relationship with his son.
Wasnt that obvious?
Yeah, besides, a coach wouldn't call his son by his last name. You know what I'm sayin'?
Glad the coach got fired for abusing Tom by hurling basketballs directly at him out of frustration.
@@scoutart1508 I was telling that to Nick because he thought the coach was Tom's Dad
RIP to Buddy the dog and Michael Jeter 😢😢😢❤ both did a great job with this film
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. The music is so nostalgic and iconic to me! It's such a sweet story.
I know geese aren't dogs but if you like this movie, I highly recommend "Fly Away Home". It has the same vibe as this movie does and it's another animal movie I really enjoyed as a kid. This movie is so underrated...and the score (for me) is perfection!
Fun fact the dog they used for buddy actually played sports and did cosmo on full house unfortunately buddy passed away

You really need to check out "Shiloh" and "Where the Red Fern Grows" (newer version) because those are instant classics as well and are very good ones to react to. Must watch. Nobody else has really done them.
OMG SHILOH!!! AMAZING :D!!!!!
TOTALLY!!!
Don't forget Old Yeller.

Aww Air Bud! one of my favourite childhood movies. funny story on how I got the DVD. So back in the day they use to put toys and stuff in cereal box's. And even sometimes DVDs or Games you could play on a computer. 😊
I remember that. In fact, sometimes I used to send the store receipt and the UPC to get a free Disney CD and Spiderman game (CD-ROM).
I got the second movie in a Cereal Box as well.
I just now realized that Buddy buried the newspapers because the clown hit him with them and so he was hiding them. I guess my kid brain wouldn't let me register that lol

this is such a classic, can never forget how much I kept watching the whole Air Bud series as a kid, it was such a great time :) it felt good watching it again with you :)
funniest thing about the clown truck - it required a button to start it - no keys - a starter BUTTON - IT WAS SO OLD 🤣
If I had to any character I would love in this movie I would be the dog and the boy. I really love their friendship it's just wonderful.
When Buddy saw the dirty basketball coach abusing his student it reminded him of his last abusive clown owner father. Buddy knows what it's like. ☹

Hi Nicky I loves this entire series of movies and I’m really excited to see ur thoughts
Love this movie and I'm glad you enjoyed it! If you're thinking of branching into underdog/inspirational sports movies, I'd recommend Angels in the Outfield, Rudy, and The Big Green.
Buddy buried the newspapers cos he was scared of newspapers since the clown guy hit him with them
Fun fact: Buddy is the dog who played Comet in Full House.
one thing people don't give this movie credit for is the score and soundtrack
Yes finally someone is watching this glorious film!
watching in science class and keep it up nick you are doing good
What a great movie. I hope they don't make unnecessary bad sequels, and have a spinoff where he has talking puppies.
This comment has to be a joke since they basically did sequels and spinoffs. 🤣
It is a joke.@@commandixnostalgia2321
This movie is great. Haven't seen it in years but I always enjoyed this movie and great reaction.
Air bud is actually the same dog that plays comet on full house r.i.p buddy he died back in 1998 saddest day ever but watch Togo it's also about Dogs
You are getting good at making good videos. You've become one of my favorites to watch.
I have always enjoyed the actor who plays the bad guy, he does a good job when ever he's on screen 😊 even if that job is being "a bad guy" 😅
We would say, "he's a jerk/I don't like him... that's the point, he's a very good actor playing a bad guy.... I should go check his filmography... I know he's in Patch Adams and Jurassic Park 3... Liked his acting in both but love the story and Robin Williams in Patch Adams.
Please can you react to A monster calls
A Monster Calls deftly balances dark themes and fantastical elements to deliver an engrossing and uncommonly moving entry in the crowded coming-of-age genre.
I cried so much in this movie
Nick remember that judge when you react to mouse hunt.
My little brother loved this movie. I saw it so many times.
The dog in the frist air bud is the same dog from full house
And the second one too.
I like how you figure the Air in the title means he flies. lol When it came out it was pretty much assumed that everyone knew Michael Jordan's nickname Air Jordan! So my brain has always put Air in that context... basketball.
I remember this movie when I was very little. Great reaction!
i recognize the coach too. I am pretty sure he is from night at the museum
Awwww that dog is so cute and yes nick watch monster inc
I love this movie and just recently rewatch it there a certain scene that still makes me tear up *even though I don’t normally show emotion* but what make this movie and the other movie homeward bound work is the music score of the film *I even and got myself the soundtrack of both movies*
13:29 you know for the longest time I never understood why he took the newspaper until I look it up.

I really hope that you watch the rest of the Air Bud / Buddies series. They are very good dog movies!
I haven't seen this film in years...
Tell me how old you are based on the description of a movie that came out that year
Me: “A Golden Retriever playing basketball”
Great vid! You always react to great movies!
U should defo check out air buddies , snow buddies and space buddies (the coach played one of the guys in the night of the muesum)
Day 1 of me asking Nick to react to Osmosis Jones.
Nick, please react to Osmosis Jones? I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Long time I saw that one but I remember I loved that movie when I was young even tho I didn't know english back then
I hope you at least do Air Bud 2 and 3 for sure. Those are my favorites out of the Air Bud well every movie is good but those are my favorites.
Nick the clown was uduskey in jp3 and also in the green mile and in the polar express
I remember my first time watching this movie, at the age of 3, in 1997. It taught me love and empathy, on a deeper level. 🤍🏀
U should really watch bubble! it’s an anime with the most beautiful scenery.
Buddy is used for comet on full house
i Never Clicked A video So Fast!
It's a bit odd seeing Michael Jeter play such a jerk. Normally he was always so likeable in his performances. If I remember correctly, he also reassured kids who had seen Air Bud that he was not like that terrible clown whatsoever. R.I.P. dude.
Please eventually get to the football and soccer air bud movies they are too adorable
I've only ever seen the one where he plays Volleyball
I will say the sequel with the football 🏈, if memory serves me correctly was also good but anything after that was meh. In case you do end up checking out the others .
if you wanna watch another good dog movie, i’d recommend Fluke
You should watch the buddies series it's about airbud kids
Listen, that scene at the 27:57 mark always brings tears to my eyes, too. Without fail. 🥹🤍🤍
I love this movie
Wonder how many ppl were on this movies case for feeding the pup pudding
Hey you should check out Beethoven it's a good movie too
I think you should at least watch the 1 st Air Buddies movie. it's really good it reminds me of a hundred and one Dalmatians
Sir Nick💗 I love your reaction videos, please react to A dog's purpose then A dog's journey.❤️
