I wonder if small country’s could still utilize these type of boats as surface ships like a mini destroyer with the ability to dive if needed? Or is that crazy lol

Wow, I thought US subs were claustrophobic.

      Automatic translation gives me:
      0:41 Diesel room
Two 6-cylinder four-stroke diesels with 1400 hp each brought the surfaced boat to a maximum of 17 knots. The range was at:
      - 10 kn. 7900 nautical miles.
      - 17 kn. 3250 nm.
      Diesel oil supply: 113 tons
      1:10 Galley and reserve toilet
The cook ("smut") is a particularly important man on every ship, and on a submarine he is also an artist. In the smallest space, 56 men were cooked for daily, food was stored in the reserve toilet - so it was unusable at first.
1:38 NCO sleeping and living quarters
The u-room housed the non-commissioned officers (chief mates and mates). Two men always shared a bunk - one was on guard duty, the other stayed here. The room below was battery room.
3:08 [from another video] Front control center
The command and control resources are concentrated in the "brain of the boat": Navitation table. Rudder and depth rudder. Observation and atack periscopes. This is the tower entrance/exit for the watch, smokers and those in need of fresh air.
4:49 Oberfeldwebel's Living and Sleeping Quarters
Highly qualified specialists lived here close together - the four senior NCOs (also called "Oberfeldwebel"): Chief Steersman, Diesel and E Chief Machinists, "Seaman No. 1" (Boatswain).
      4:56 WC
The only usable toilet on board in submerged condition only usable up to approx. 25 m water depth.
5:22 Crew living and sleeping quarters (bow room)
Can 27 or more men have lived, eaten and slept here? Yes! The torpedoes were pulled out daily to be serviced. On and under the corridor slabs were six reserve torpedoes, on them lived the submarine men.
