One of the main reasons that a new storage tray for building tiles is included was that some people complained that the original one was too flimsy and this one is sturdier. You forgot to mention that the expansion includes 30 fortification tokens because, due to several new buildings, forts are now part of the game and not just due to an exploit. Also the new version of Endeavor is not just a reprint of the original. The rules, map board, and many components were updated and improved. The final thought is that if you want more flavor, you might want to check out the Seize Your Fate micro-expansion. It was included for free with the Kickstarter, but will be sold separately in the future. It adds a lot more flavor because it assigns you one of major colonizing countries. So you are no longer a generic European power, but are England, France, Spain, etc.
Yeah he missed quite a bit about the new version. He kinda glossed over how important the prominence tiles really are now because discs on them count as european presence. Spoiler: You will want to fight over europe in this new setup. He also didn't mention the new slave cards starting setup that present a whole new meta to the game. He left out the destiny cards and asymmetrical setup you can use but that ones still up in the air IMO if it's worth it. Also missed the fact that Europe and all the colonies have cards up to level 6 in them and they are pretty powerful just like the level 5 ones. The fact that the level 5 cards can now present you with a strategy within a strategy is awesome.
waiting anxiously for this expansion to get to Europe's backers, but the base game is SOOOOOO GOOOD, 10000000% recommended. it's a lil samey and has a scripted start, hope this expansion will fix these issues or at the very least give us a plan B
I know it's a pathetic nitpick, but when you review expansions it would make it a lot easier if you linked your review(s) for the original games in your description. Yes, I searched and found it and I'm watching it now. Just offering constructive thoughts. Will come back to this video later. LOVE your reviews. :)
Almost feels like the base game should just come with this stuff. Already printing the buildings so it'd be a deck and 4 boards. Like it's cool they duel printed the tiles but then you just throw your original ones away? Just makes it feel like a rip off
Why should they be included for free? You get all new buildings that are dual printed for your convenience. And you keep the originals in their original tray to replace any damaged or lost buildings in the future. A whole new set of cards. And a few other additions that make the game more interesting and add replay value.
This is not the kind of expansion that somehow makes the game better than it was. This is an expansion for those who play the game a lot. It's for those players who want more and something different. If you are a casual player i would say stick with the base game and all the exploits you can interchange into the game and you will have a great game. Keep in mind when they did the reprint and made it a deluxe game they had no idea that it would come back in such popularity. Much like the Brass reprint a nice reprint with upgrade components and art can make a game that was already great even better.

What is the reason that you cant mix and match the original buildings and cards with the expansion ones? It's been a while since I played this game.
The buildings are balanced as a set. If you change one building you might not have enough of certain abilities or bonuses available.
Yeah if you try to mix and match them you could come up with some pretty powerful combos or short the number of needed action types in a game.
