Rattan Furniture HAPPY and NOT Happy Same Family Two Shops Two Attitudes

- Today we go to pick up our rattan furniture. We bought it from two different places but it is the same family. One brother went solo and he too does cool work and has some beautiful designs but..... The outdoor couch , chairs, end tables and the custom coffee table is amazing. The stools from the brother beautiful but poorly shaped with one leaning forward and one the bottom seat has a drop on one corner. the rings I had him make on the legs for extra strength is just held by one old finish nail and two I ordered with arms on them have no arms. His excuse - I forgot. The backs was up very straight and uncomfortable and when I asked him to correct he refused with lots of excuses. We paid a deposit and I knew he would not give it back. It was a very tough person to reason with. I asked for him to lesson the price since the are incomplete but he was very reluctant stating he already gave a good price. I did finally get 1000 peso discount which was not enough compared to what I paid for the six stools. The furniture form his fathers place I have no issues with. They was amazing and so kind to deal with.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Iloilo City on Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. It's a great looking set for outdoors and your right looks good with the stone work looks perfect. Some people has a attitude and some you can never figure out and some people just need time to warm up. That's great set of wicker furniture. Good vibes bro.

Man, those chairs look SOOOOOO good on the balcony...Perfect! I agree with you the parents/daughter operation does better work. I think you can get a couple more and it will add to the ambiance (and comfort)...Holy Cow, Quality! I like the colors as well of the chairs, as they match the stonework and tiles...
The angle on the back of the chairs makes a big difference in comfort level over a longer period of sitting on them at the bar (or anywhere you may be using them, i.e. the island between the kitchen and dining area inside on an emergency basis when entertaining, etc.

I agree, repeat customers is the reason to be nice to them, that and word of mouth. 10 minutes of effort and you may have bought more from him. His loss.
The Rattan furniture is very nicely made and also very affordable. I had to fix a few of Baby Kurt's Christmas presents here when I bought them and got them home, some of the pieces pins were missing.
James & Melinda I really like that Ratan furniture especially in front of the stone wall I notice that actually before you mentioned it how well it comes together ❤️ . You know your right about those bar chairs I saw what your complaining about I to would be feeling the same way about them . He needs to realize yall are the customers he needs to check himself before he wrecks himself for sure .Maybe he will see this vedieo and help himself by working on his people skills .

and I formed this opion People do business with people not necessarily businesses 🙄.
Man I like your truck but what you gained in cab you gave up in bed space I see now why you added the top rack it will come in handy for a short bed like that . Overall a very cool vedieo God Bless yall & Mabuhay Po .

I have always love rattan and wicker and this set is just beautiful. Perfect color and the quality of the workmanship is the best. Will you be having seat cushions made for them?
Yes we will have cushions made. I will order sunbrella brand material from the US of A so they will be quality and last.
Take the Bar Stool Chairs to the Dad's Store and see if He will Fix the Chairs like you want them.

When you first went to the second shop the first time they has chairs like theses already built. So those set the standard. If these were that much different from the ones you first saw well sometimes you have to just walk away. You would have got his cooperation then I’m sure.
Your other set does look really nice and like the belong against that wall. You know now those stools are going to play in your mind. Take care

James, Those are very nice, do the still make the hand tables that have a hand carved scene with a glass top, I haven’t seen any in years.
hi james, the seat of the chair should tilt 0,2 to 0.5 degrees so you don't have the feeling of falling out of the chair if it's straight and the backrest should tilt 7 degrees to be comfortable (or 97 degrees from the seat )

That looks awesome phenomenal workmanship on the bench patio set! It looks great with the stone wall. I probably would have paid the family to fix the chairs the brother messed up on. It's unfortunate he treated you that way and didn't make it right or correct the problem. That could/will cost him future sales just because he refused to correct the backs on the chairs. I know if I was shopping for a set I would go to the father/family one to buy from. You can really see their attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. When I go to the Philippines I would definitely buy from them. I probably wouldn't even look at the brothers place. Just one unhappy customer can cost you a dozen sales or more to other people. I have been self employed most of my life and you just can't treat people that way or you will go broke. Especially where your posting videos on TH-cam many people will see this and it will definitely cost him some sales. Another great video Thank you God bless!
Busy, busy. So you were talking about the quality & craftsmanship between the 2. Lol. From your headline, I thought you were going to talk about how they bashed each other, so the youngster was not as meticulous as the old man. Yes sir, those chairs look really good. Once upon a time eons ago, I went into a large apartment building where we had an MATV system the super was taking me to an apartment that needed servicing, he was really bashing the tenant as a problem tenant so I played it up with the tenant on how the super was a real ball-buster after he left the apartment, etc. After I was done the super asked how it went, so I told him that the tenant was really bashing him good, just like brothers typically do. I was warned ahead of time to be careful what I said, but you know me, I could not resist.
They guy you did a incomplete and lacking job on the stools was bashing his Dad ,brother and sister down the street of how their work was bad and his superior. Funny because we viewed it totally opposite. I asked him to stop bashing them that I do not want to hear it. I told him I was happy before that they was a family doing the same work. Now I see why it is two different places. Because the son has a attitude. I also noticed that they had completed pieces inside that had been whacked up by a bolo. I said oh man look at this somebody had tampo and the workers laughed and said yes you know it huh? So somebody was there way more upset than I was.
