I've listened to different versions of this song, and this is my favorite. His interpretation is so touching and tender and yet so powerful and heart wrenching. Unforgettable.
The entire musical is well worth everyone's time and musical experience especially now (2023). It deserves a renaissance of production in its entirety. I love the production with all the joy and perspective it brings.
I love the original Daniel Balavoine (Starmania) version so much but this is so beautiful and touching.. I have listened this song now hundreds of times and never get enough.

I found this song 'SOS d'un terrien en detresse' via Dimash, who has the most amazing vocal range of any human I have ever heard. I listened to his version many times and then saw that there was the original version sung by Daniel Balavoine in Starmania so many years ago. I then read the so sad tale of the writers and singers of this song and had to listen to this original version. My heart is broken that these amazingly talented men were taken from us at such an early age, but I'm very grateful that Dimash has honoured them with his stunning performance of this immensely sad, moving and powerful song.

Mais la version live complète de 1979 est vraiment fabuleuse musicalement. Inégalée. Je nourrissais pourtant beaucoup d’espoirs pour la version 2022. Pas mauvaise bien sûr mais pas extraordinaire, désincarnée, sans émotions.

This late 1980s production is the very best in talent and direction. I watch it over and over. The character portrayals are true to the parts that have meaning in the story. A wonderful musical and one of the best dramas in song and lyrics.

Even with Starmania, his dream was to take it to Boadway, to give it to the whole world, and just a week before his death a show case in London was discussed. He could have done much much more. But what amazes me how he was able to capture all the human tragedy and channel it through beautiful music, through Luc Plamondon's lyrics, and even more resonate through those hand-picked singers. De echo en la nota alta usa voz mixta, lo que si me gusta es su interpretación y que no se excede en las notas y arruina la canción, porque bien podría usar un C6 en voz mixta todos los cantantes de Metal tienen 5-6 octavas por usar técnicas algo obsoletas como el growl que aumentan su rango vocal, 3:05 supongo que te refieres a eso con pulmón... Es G4 con belt, y en la nota del 3:20 es un D5, es voz mixta al estilo del heavy metal más o menos, aún así está es la mejor versión en mi opinión.

Yes, amazing ! Dimash made this song famous around the world. The original version is from DANIEL BALAVOINE (around 1985) => he also wrote it. Wonderful song, so sad, but powerful. Greetings from FRANCE :)
I only recently discovered Imash. He has an incredible control of his voice. This version is from 1989 and Normand Groulx who sings SOS sings it beautifully with emotion. I also saw the other versions. One of the best SOS is by Bruno Pelletier who was also cast in the musical Notre-Dame-de-Paris as Gringoire.
La plus grande selon moi . ce mec a tout , , les graves , les aiguës et SURTOUT comme Daniel Balavoine il laisse a cette chanson sa dimension de complainte pleine de sensibilité et ne joue pas a celui qui gueule le plus fort(style Pelletier et consorts ) . Cette version de Starmania a rassemblée pour la plupart les meilleurs interprètes . Groulx Père et fils ! la Fabuleuse voix de Rejanne Perry ! l’excellent renaud hantson ! une grande "Stella Spotlight " (dont j'ai oublié le nom) . La seule qui soit un peu "en dessous " est l’interprète de Cristal , quoique France gall n'avait pas le niveau non plus dans la première version
+Eric petit Martine St-Clair en dessous ? Pas d'accord du tout du tout, mais alors pas du tout DU TOUT ! bref, vous l'aurez compris, je ne suis pas d'accord :D Et la comparer à France Gall, encore moins !! :D Réécoutez les deux versions de Monopolis. Vous verrez qu'il n'y a pas photo et que vous êtes dur avec elle :) Stella Spotlight (Sabrina Lory) avait la lourde tâche de reprendre le rôle de Diane Dufresne. Pari réussi. Je préfère ses Adieux à la version originale. Pour moi, celle qui est en-dessous, c'est Sadia. Mais là encore, passer derrière Nanette Workman, comment dire... y'a plus simple comme tâche :) Quant à Norman, je vous suis à 100% Après des centaines d'écoutes, j'ai encore l'estomac qui se noue, la chair de poule et les larmes aux yeux.
Comme je vous donne raison . En ce moment on n'a d'éloge que pour ce jeune Dimash's que je trouve personnellement agaçant au possible, et surtout, qui dénature totalement l'intention de Michel Berger et Luc Plamondon de donner à cette aria une sensibilité à fleur de peau et une émotion palpable ; ce que supprime ce chanteur asiatique et tant d'autres qui ne sont que dans la surenchère des décibels et de la performance vocale. Du coup il font un 100 mètres là où ont leur demande de faire une balade dans les deux sens du terme.

@@carolefleury He is not Chinese and he pronounces just fine. He speaks and sings in many different languages and plays many instruments on top of this song he puts so much feeling into ALL his song. I know the words to this only from sub titles, but who cares. #DIMASH has to much compassion for his singing than any other singer I have ever heard in my 50 years. And music of ALL kinds has been in my life this long. If the singer can make me feel inside my soul, well then they are the best to me!!! Да, это уже, как кому на душу ложится. Я тоже этих исполнителей люблю, а ещё Пеллетье и конечно же Даниэль. Его исполнение вообще не обсуждается, так как он первый...и эта его преждевременная гибель. Он легенда. А ещё есть малоизвестный Кайрат Тунтеков, тоже казах, как Димаш. Очень проникновенное исполнение. Один раз он исполнил в 2010г. А второй раз в 2017,после тяжёлых жизненных обстоятельств, подлости и предательства, и ко всему смерть младшей сестрёнки. 😱😭

Esta no es la versión original, sino otro cover. Originalmente, la canción la cantó Daniel Balavoine en 1978. De echo en la nota alta usa voz mixta, lo que si me gusta es su interpretación y que no se excede en las notas y arruina la canción, porque bien podría usar un C6 en voz mixta todos los cantantes de Metal tienen 5-6 octavas por usar técnicas algo obsoletas como el growl que aumentan su rango vocal, 3:05 supongo que te refieres a eso con pulmón... Es G4 con belt, y en la nota del 3:20 es un D5, es voz mixta al estilo del heavy metal más o menos, aún así está es la mejor versión en mi opinión.

I only recently discovered Imash. He has an incredible control of his voice. This version is from 1989 and Normand Groulx who sings SOS sings it beautifully with emotion. I also saw the other versions. One of the best SOS is by Bruno Pelletier who was also cast in the musical Notre-Dame-de-Paris as Gringoire.

La plus grande selon moi . ce mec a tout , , les graves , les aiguës et SURTOUT comme Daniel Balavoine il laisse a cette chanson sa dimension de complainte pleine de sensibilité et ne joue pas a celui qui gueule le plus fort(style Pelletier et consorts ) . Cette version de Starmania a rassemblée pour la plupart les meilleurs interprètes . Groulx Père et fils ! la Fabuleuse voix de Rejanne Perry ! l’excellent renaud hantson ! une grande "Stella Spotlight " (dont j'ai oublié le nom) . La seule qui soit un peu "en dessous " est l’interprète de Cristal , quoique France gall n'avait pas le niveau non plus dans la première version
je ne trouve pas que Pelletier gueule, oui il gueule mais c'est son coffre, il chante très bien doucement aussi

Stella Spotlight (Sabrina Lory) avait la lourde tâche de reprendre le rôle de Diane Dufresne. Pari réussi. Je préfère ses Adieux à la version originale.
Pour moi, celle qui est en-dessous, c'est Sadia. Mais là encore, passer derrière Nanette Workman, comment dire... y'a plus simple comme tâche :)
Quant à Norman, je vous suis à 100% Après des centaines d'écoutes, j'ai encore l'estomac qui se noue, la chair de poule et les larmes aux yeux.

Comme je vous donne raison . En ce moment on n'a d'éloge que pour ce jeune Dimash's que je trouve personnellement agaçant au possible, et surtout, qui dénature totalement l'intention de Michel Berger et Luc Plamondon de donner à cette aria une sensibilité à fleur de peau et une émotion palpable ; ce que supprime ce chanteur asiatique et tant d'autres qui ne sont que dans la surenchère des décibels et de la performance vocale. Du coup il font un 100 mètres là où ont leur demande de faire une balade dans les deux sens du terme.

@@carolefleury He is not Chinese and he pronounces just fine. He speaks and sings in many different languages and plays many instruments on top of this song he puts so much feeling into ALL his song. I know the words to this only from sub titles, but who cares. #DIMASH has to much compassion for his singing than any other singer I have ever heard in my 50 years. And music of ALL kinds has been in my life this long. If the singer can make me feel inside my soul, well then they are the best to me!!! I have never had no singer to make me feel inside the way #DIMASHK does. #DIMASHFAN4EVERUSA

Да, это уже, как кому на душу ложится. Я тоже этих исполнителей люблю, а ещё Пеллетье и конечно же Даниэль. Его исполнение вообще не обсуждается, так как он первый...и эта его преждевременная гибель. Он легенда. А ещё есть малоизвестный Кайрат Тунтеков, тоже казах, как Димаш. Очень проникновенное исполнение. Один раз он исполнил в 2010г. А второй раз в 2017,после тяжёлых жизненных обстоятельств, подлости и предательства, и ко всему смерть младшей сестрёнки. 😱😭
А мне очень нравятся и Норман и Димаш!!! У Нормана драматизм через край... Димаш, голос молодой, чистый ...его голос плачет...👍👍🌹🌹🌹
