We downloaded the offline maps into our phones for Google Maps while on WiFi before traveling. We prefer to run both Waze and Google Maps at the same time when possible, but Waze doesn't allow you to download the maps so if you lose internet connectivity that app doesn't work as good as Google Maps. With internet, Waze is preferred for traffic avoidance and also seems to do better with routing around private roads so you don't end up driving across private property. This video was in 2019, so I would assume things have only improved since then. Safe travels & thanks for watching!
I’ll take a look, we booked the car from the USA through Expedia and then chose the full insurance with $0 deductible options once we got to Nicaragua.
I'm sorry, unfortunately Expedia didn't keep the rental car company name in our records (the trip was in 2019) but we opted for the full insurance since we destroyed a wheel and tire in Costa Rica after hitting a large pot hole a year earlier. We found the extra $10 USD or so per day was worth it when driving on non-paved roads. Thanks for watching, and have a safe trip!
It was the easiest and best rated for the volcano boarding experience. What would you recommend over Bigfoot Hostel for volcano boarding? PS - if you didn't watch the entire video, you'd see that we also stayed in a 5-star lodge on the Pacific Coast. Our experience at Bigfoot was a great one, it's not always about the money :)
Great video, amazing eco lodge cabins!!.I will be there quite soon,Thanks for this video!
Thanks! You’re gonna love it, the views of the beach from the hillside are incredible. Have a great time!!
Welcome to Nicaragua
How was the GPS accuracy? What did you use (Garmin, Google Maps, Apple Maps etc…)

What are your recommendations on car rental companies and which insurance to pay for?

That Hostel "B.F" is the worst place. Bad experience
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, we had a great time at Bigfoot.
That’s a horrible hostel… why not get a decent hotel they’re not that expensive
