Well they blew up the chicken man in Philly last night Now they blew up his house too Down on the boardwalk they're gettin' ready for a fight Gonna see what them racket boys can do Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state And the D.A. can't get no relief Gonna be a rumble out on the promenade And the gamblin' commissions hangin' on by the skin of its teeth Everything dies baby that's a fact Maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Well I got a job and tried to put my money away But I got debts that no honest man can pay So I drew what I had from the Central Trust And I bought us two tickets on that Coast City bus Everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Now our luck may have died and our love may be cold But with you forever I'll stay We're goin' out where the sands turnin' to gold now Put on your stockin's cause the nights gettin' cold and Everything dies, baby, that's a fact but maybe Everything that dies someday comes back Now I been lookin' for a job but it's hard to find Down here it's just winners and losers and don't get caught on the wrong side of that line Well I'm tired of comin' out on the losin' end So honey last night I met this guy and I'm gonna do a little favor for him Well I guess everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City And meet me tonight in Atlantic City And meet me tonight in Atlantic City And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
love nathaniels sweat band . they opened in breckenridge for ole john prine last nov was amazing...but to be a corrective jerk...this is a song by THE Band, covered quite well as well by the Boss and the E's.... i love all the versions
@@kb4bht I know i know i was wrong. I love the boss but ii like the bands version with levon better. It sounds like a band song too. I apologized on my community radio show that i felt badly making that comment. Lol
The Springsteen solo album Nebraska that this song was originally on is one of my all time favorite albums. Every song on it is great. A true masterpiece
These guys are cut from the same cloth as Bruce and The Band - soulful, sincere, and they f-ing mean every nuance of every note.
I've been looking for this version. Thank you
Superb cover version of the King of Americana Music.
Glad I got a chance to see these guys in Cleveland last week. Great show!
Saw this live in DC. Great show.
wonderful cover !
If you cover a Springsteen song, this is the way to do it!! Great song, great performance. Had a great time at Paradiso Amsterdam
His voice...so rich
THIS is how you do a cover. Holy shit.
Hell to the yes.
THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG. No disrespect to bruce or the band. Sorry for telling.
Good take on an American classic.
Well they blew up the chicken man in Philly last night
Now they blew up his house too
Down on the boardwalk they're gettin' ready for a fight
Gonna see what them racket boys can do
Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state
And the D.A. can't get no relief
Gonna be a rumble out on the promenade
And the gamblin' commissions hangin' on by the skin of its teeth
Everything dies baby that's a fact
Maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
Well I got a job and tried to put my money away
But I got debts that no honest man can pay
So I drew what I had from the Central Trust
And I bought us two tickets on that Coast City bus
Everything dies baby that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
Now our luck may have died and our love may be cold
But with you forever I'll stay
We're goin' out where the sands turnin' to gold now
Put on your stockin's cause the nights gettin' cold and
Everything dies, baby, that's a fact but maybe
Everything that dies someday comes back
Now I been lookin' for a job but it's hard to find
Down here it's just winners and losers and don't get caught on the wrong side of that line
Well I'm tired of comin' out on the losin' end
So honey last night I met this guy and I'm gonna do a little favor for him
Well I guess everything dies baby that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
yeah... this song evolved from the boss to the band to the night sweats..
Great version. Does Levon and Rick justice
Viva the memory and music of Levon, Richard and Rick. I hope them are jamming somewhere on the other side.

No worries, I always thought the band wrote it as well until recently. It's a great song.

@@mikeinindy2856 hard to not agree
Really 3 thumbs down for this cover? They don’t have a heart or what?
the bar has been set impossibly high since levon's cover is unreachable, but nice job.
