I can really relate to what Jeff says about avoiding the gym out of insecurities. I used to go to them at the crack of dawn because all the huge guys wouldn't show up then and I wouldn't feel "unworthy" of being there. Once I learnt to concentrate on my own workout and not care about who else was doing what I was so much better off. Listen to this man, he speaks truth (and can rock a pirate shirt).

I wish I would've found you before I started my fitness journey but I'm still glad I found this channel now because I know now how important and critical THESE things can be when it comes to making my body look better. My stomach is looking good but I'm not finished and I want to look better cause I know I can. Your videos give me the right tools to use at the gym for a full work out. Idgaf what anyone else is doing at the gym! I do my own thing whether it makes me look weak or not. I want the best for my body and what works for me. That is how I lost all my weight because I did it with the proper reps and proper cardio.

I just tried kickbacks for the first time, due to Jeff Cavaliere's videos. I'm 39, and my shoulder and knees were too inflamed to work out. I did back and biceps the night before, so it was either do a full tricep day or go home. I always heard kickbacks were too hard on the joints. Not only did they hit my triceps better than expected, but they felt easier on my elbows than overhead tricep presses or skullcrushers.

Knee/"girl" pushups. I do those all the time. I do pushups to failure and then start on the "girl" pushups to failure (can usually hammer out another 5 or 10 pushups). Bugs me when people call it girl pushups and they refuse to do it just because they don't want to look weak.

I've been finishing every hard chest or tricep workout with "girl pushups" just to completely burn out the muscles. If I've gone hard enough earlier I cant hold myself up for more than a handful of regular pushups so once my arms give out i'll drop to my knees and finish it off.

Hands or Feet on the medicine ball? Doing hands on the medicine ball (edit: yoga ball, not med ball) is hard/awesome because of all the extra stability needed and how it hits all the smaller supporting muscles.
Edit: Nevermind, I realized you said medicine ball. I had yoga ball in my head. I do med ball pushups in the manner you say and then go to my knees and keep the process going. Try the pushups with hands on the yoga ball.

Hi Jeff. I have to say thankyou for what you do. I watch a lot of weight-exercise videos, but yours have helped me so much. After fracturing my T6 vertebrae, I spent 6years beleiving that a normal life would be beyond me. My physiotherapist helped me start with resistance band, but I have now begun to do free weight exercises. Your approach, with emphasis on correct technique from a physiotherapist point of view is the best I have seen. I am getting stronger, improving my posture, and regaining muscle. I now know that I can have a 'normal' life again, if I continue working with the correct biomechanics. Your videos have played a huge part in this, so once again, thank you so much. Best wishes.

Shawn Faust yes absolutely. First was not so much an exercise but a style of training: yoga. I was at my strongest but I was also my heaviest and in constant pain. Stopped lifting weights for a whole year (one of the hardest things I've ever done regarding fitness) just to focus on flexibility. Yoga cured so many imbalances, plus I was boxing so I lost 70 lbs. After that I started doing calisthenics which really helped strengthen my posterior chain, especially pull ups and bridges. Don't underestimate bridges bro, they strengthen the whole posterior chain and lengthen the anterior chain, especially the hip flexors and the psoas. Face pulls are another one. After 2 years of doing bodyweight exercises, I just started incorporating weights again, but now that I've developed next level mind muscle connection and don't care about just putting up big numbers, I choose appropriate weights for every movement and really get the most out of them.

Because your running form will be better because imbalance and weakness is the thing that keeps you slow (and injured). The difference between a good runner and a great runner is posture, no weak hips and using the glutes. Awesome video.

I switched long ago to more controlled lighter weights for kick backs and shoulder/lateral raises and found way more benefits. I love it when Jeff confirms what my body tells me is right. I have to search his videos now to check the 8-10lb rotator cuff exercises I love so much. I get crazy burn, but gotta make sure I am minding my joints. I do my "sissy" exercises with pride: mainly because, I see the changes happening in my body along side sloppy heavyweight slingers that never seem to look any different in the gym. I would rather impress myself with change vs others with plates....and noone is impressed by sloppy form. Someone gets a pass for overload cheats, but that can't be your whole workout!

Hi Jeff, thank you for your very informative videos.
When you do the hip abduction excercize, you're externally rotating your leg to train the medial glute.
When we look at the origin and insertion of this muscle its primary function is stabilizing the hip and making abduction.
In my opinion externally rotating your leg takes the focus away from the medial glute. Keeping the leg internally rotated, not further than your toes pointing forward, will make this muscle work harder and thus gaining more effect from this exercize.

Personally i love your channel. I have learnt a lot and I am putting everything I watch into my daily work outs. I go in at 5am as it’s the only time I can fit in.
I am quite a skinny guy, and yeah I feel intimidated around the big muscles guys at the gym but I am doing light weights to get my technique right and mixing up my routine so that my body doesn’t just get used to the same 6-8 movements.
Admittedly I have seen some improvements in the last 6 weeks - which is great.

In hs I was into fitness but after graduating and having gfs, I lost motivation. But being 21 now, I don't want to be 30 looking back and saying "I wish I was like that when I was 20" NO! JUST NO! I WANT THE BODY NOW SO I DON'T HAVE TO SAY THAT AND I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON MY FITNESS! I find myself wanting to watch your videos because I want more and more knowledge of how to do new excersices, all with have the proper form. I say this because i never watched fitness vids like this but I do now, and like it because of the body/fitness educatuon I get from it. My goal is not to be swole but to lose my fat, be lean and cut. To have a good physique. I was 290 in June and I'm 247 now.... thank you @athlenex for all this info. I wish I could have you as a trainer to show that I'm not a short cutter when it comes to reps, effort and form. I give it my all every time I work out no matter what or i don't even bother working out. That is never the case because I have a goal in mind and I won't stop til I'm there. Just how you keep thinking about people's opinion on you, other people is also busy thinking about other people's opinion on themselves. You may pay attention to some weird kid doing weird thing for a sec, and then after the pizza and the toilet and the game - your head is full about you and your own business again. Each and every one you see care about themselves - even the ones throwing insults and glances. It is their ego and how they are better and me me me me meeeee in their head - they don't give a shit about you. So stop giving shit about them.
