Carving a grindstone

- I have been Carving a sandstone grind-stone for milling grains into flour.
I will also convert it into a multi-tool for making cold-pressed juices and pottery.
This is the first time I have carved stone before and had no idea what I was doing.
Id love to see the follow up! Definitely the best diy stone video on TH-cam

Unfortunately there isnt a follow up a video as we moved from that land and are now elsewhere.
In future we are looking at doing something similar so keep your eyes peeled here.

Yes, I definitely want to make more of these and complete the project.
We need to find a suitable location with a self-contained cabin/studio/ granny flat and a forest ecosystem with maximum species biodiversity.

Use a back bicycle wheel frame .
Hint: When hammering a steel chisel, a steel hammer works much faster than a branch.

@lonewolfsvoice I finished grinding the stone however, I wasn't able to find the components being the floor flange, pillar block bearing and threaded rod (without having to buy a 6 metre length of rod)
@@Ilovethebush Often times machine shops will have off cuts. Hmm you're in Australia, I'm guessing, if you were in america I would say run down to the nearest farm supply store and they would have all of those items. Outside of that you could try scavenging parts off an old car at the scrap yard if you have one near you. Tie rod ends and some tie rod may be workable into what your need I think.
@@LoneWolfsVoice We tried all of that and no-go. Out rural also makes it hard to go to places. Unfortunately we are no longer at that property where that project was being made. Thanks for the suggestions!

What happens if you anchor the chisel pointing upwards and place the stone on it and spin? ... wonder if thatd put too much force and split the stone in half
I like your creative thinking, however, I would think the sheer weight of the stone would make it an awkward process to attempt., getting the balance right would be a nightmare.
Can you make a vid on how did they make grindstones for swords and add pedals to make is spin?
