After watching this, I totally disagree with those who said Hugo was annoying. His behavior was actually realistic for a child who grew up locked in a room all his life with only his mother to see. And he was anxious to meet his mother because she was most familiar to him compared to his sister who is practically a stranger.
exactly my thoughts, people will get so mad at child characters for literally just, acting like children. as if they themselves were sooo logical and adult when they were that age.
I kinda expected it tbh, when they started going on about "blood" and "the bite" and plague I figured ot was going to be vampiric :) was pleasantly surprised, a nice Grimms Fairy tale sort or representation of the Bubonic plagues :D
How can people not like Hugo? He made the game so much better for me and his runs off and behavior was spot on for a 5 year old who spend his life locked inside and is now thrown into a chaos. I would’ve ran towards my mother’s voice too, plus she was his caregiver too and he thought she died. Amicia is wonderful too, all of the characters are loveable. This haven’t happened to me in a game for.... actually never. Well done
Hugo is a horribly made character so is almost everyone honestly, they have no depth or emotional identity most of them feel 1 dimensional; their biggest flaw is without a doubt the fact that most people cant emotionally attach to the game like who gives a fuck about what ever their going through. OH my lord this game is the best i have seen in many many years. I watched the entire game play, all 7 hours. Best design, character, voice acting is the best i have ever heard. The music score is just amazing, screeching, scratching and booming, like the rats. The world they created is just amazing. Kudos to this gaming studio, easily the best game of 2019

I dare say, this is Last of Us levels of beautiful storytelling! Definitely the best 7+hour movie I've seen in ages! Bravo to the studio, and thank you for sharing your gameplay experience!
‘Rats enter the city’ Since they are scared of light, they hide from the people, no chance of attack ‘Unless they were fighting in the sewers but I highly doubt that will happen’
I just love this game. It reminds me of Hellblade mixed with Assasins Creed. It's so immersive and relaxing at times and the music is beautiful. So glad i bought it.
This is a surprisingly brutal game! I would've liked it more if it was more reality and less rat controlling magic in the end, but I guess it's the only reason to explain why the rats can't even get close to the light in the first place. Wonderful game all in all!
When it started, though it was connected to the tale of the flute player... The one who travelled across villages to get rid of the varmint... And once not paid for his work, think he charmed the rat back... Or send all the children of the village to drown themselves. Still, not dissapointed by the result, it is a magnificent piece of art... Proud to be french, didn't happen for a while. XD

The rats where I used to live, in a downtown area, had NO fear of light…. Maybe open flame would have scared them more, but they seemed pretty sure that they owned the alleyways, day or night, and were willing to take on any and all who would contest that. They were so big it was a bit scary to see them eyeing you as you walked by.
This is one of those games that constantly makes your jaw drop, either at the stunning graphics and locations or the amazing writing and voice acting. I spent about quarter of an hour just standing around the church looking at the walls, the lighting, the wood of the benches, you just see these and know exactly what they feel like almost as if you're there
Man! Hugo pissed me off so much during most of the game! What a pain in the ass LOL! Its a beautiful looking game though, and I loved the story and I really enjoyed this playthrough. Thanks for the awesome upload, dude!
Agreed but it's on purpose usually 5-6 year olds should be smarter than this but not only does this game take place a long time ago he also has no real world experience or proper senses while a lot of 5 year old these days have a little bit of Hugo is pretty much a fucking idiot even by 6 year old standards

I played this after playing a few zombie games, I wasn’t expecting rats to be scarier than zombies. But this game is so great! I just finished it! And they just announced the second one that comes out in 2022!
I really love this story. Im 2 hours from finishing the video, and i can say that this is a masterpiece and you can hear the panic, fear, and emotion in each characters voices and actions. ❤❤❤

I remember watching this when it came out, and I was amazed by the story and graphics. One of the few games that made me care deeply for the characters and mourned their loss when they died.

I actually enjoyed watching this gameplay. The storyline was so intriguing and captivating. The relationships with the different characters, truly a masterpiece. Are they making another one? The crafting is similar to "TLOU2". Great Game!

Yes! Love Brad's spirit, but shut up and play the game and make better decisions while playing!! Its just frustrating watching him play and the 20min video thing is annoying too. I don't mind multiple parts but once he realizes a game is long af he needs to make the parts longer.... Days Gone just took entirely too long
With a rat boss battle interrupted by Legend of Zelda-like slingshot strikes at opportune times and a time skip that leaves most of the plot's development and resolution unclear? I don't know, yo. Love Legend of Zelda, but gotta admit, this game started way grittier than this. Where did the rats go? Is the kid cured? Why did Melly get mistimedly freaked out about Hugo controlling rats enough to leave both the lifestyle she was settling into with new, trustworthy companions, and the "deal" that family still owed her?
not every good story ends with smiles and cheers. You forget Game of Thrones is suppose to be chaotic, i think they are living up to their story model. if your expecting a happy cheerful ending from GOT then you are watching the wrong show.

Game of thrones fan you said, you do realize that non of the shows follow the books accurately right? you do know that season 8 was written on the spot and not based on a finished book right? if you are talking about Dany's bad temper tantrums and selfish and mad queen decisions, you do know shes only 17 in season 8 and probably going through puberty and on her DOT, so she is acting the way she is because she isnt a adult right? how bad the battle "great war" with the white walkers was dark, claustrophobic and strategically a shit show, yea because they never fought zombies before so they used regular military tactics and messed up. if youre talking about the battle and capital, remember Dany is already on a temper tantrum she feels shes been betrayed by everyone, and all the pent up rage has to go somewhere liek any average person, plus shes been known to have a nasty temper. second how greyworm reacted and acted during this season yeah his character done bad but it was also to give audience a sense of fear, because now greyworm now fights to protect 2 things and has fear of loss. All these complaints about how season 8 was horrible or shit show, dont forget they are also rushing to end the series. Just like how Avengers Endgame so many issues in the end but no ones perfect. deal with it, quit being little salty snowflakes.

The story began so well. Stealth, puzzles, paranormal mystery linked to a historical plague. Latinized English for every concoction, I mean, sure? But then shit just starts getting a little... You know. Rats go from photosensitive into kindling, exploding if they even get close to a flame. Making the paranormal beginning into a ham-fisted superpower plot, big oof. The knights igniting by scraping weapons against armor, that's pushing it. I can see the small one going full child mode and running away on his own, but can't really make out why noone interfered with Melly's cautionless revenge thrill or the smith's son's stubbornness in life-or-death situations. You're moving through a passageway at night, with archers at a distance. Why not just extinguish fires and stealth through? Melly's reaction to the kid before the, sigh, rats boss battle didn't seem really fitting, or should I say mistimed, as they were already aware of his powers by that point. The time skip after the battle's also a bit... All the given lore didn't really indicate what happened after surpassing the disease. Is the kid cured at last? Why did Melly leave after all they've been through, considering her character wasn't even willing to leave the chateau in favor of that new companionship? (Or, for the most skeptics, considering that family still owed her?) *When did all the rats disappear?*

I played the game and he did not die.. I don't remember him giving you any items or so, but he said he would not turn you in to his other fellows and let you pass.

You should play this in french.. Suits the mood much better. Same with metro exodus in which russian audio is a must.
Everyone should play with French. English voice acting isn't that good and at some points gets quite cringy

I played this after playing a few zombie games, I wasn’t expecting rats to be scarier than zombies. But this game is so great! I just finished it! And they just announced the second one that comes out in 2022!

I really love this story. Im 2 hours from finishing the video, and i can say that this is a masterpiece and you can hear the panic, fear, and emotion in each characters voices and actions. ❤❤❤

That's how a good story ends, not how the writers of game of thrones are ending their strory.
With a rat boss battle interrupted by Legend of Zelda-like slingshot strikes at opportune times and a time skip that leaves most of the plot's development and resolution unclear? I don't know, yo. Love Legend of Zelda, but gotta admit, this game started way grittier than this. Where did the rats go? Is the kid cured? Why did Melly get mistimedly freaked out about Hugo controlling rats enough to leave both the lifestyle she was settling into with new, trustworthy companions, and the "deal" that family still owed her?
not every good story ends with smiles and cheers. You forget Game of Thrones is suppose to be chaotic, i think they are living up to their story model. if your expecting a happy cheerful ending from GOT then you are watching the wrong show.

Game of thrones fan you said, you do realize that non of the shows follow the books accurately right? you do know that season 8 was written on the spot and not based on a finished book right? if you are talking about Dany's bad temper tantrums and selfish and mad queen decisions, you do know shes only 17 in season 8 and probably going through puberty and on her DOT, so she is acting the way she is because she isnt a adult right? how bad the battle "great war" with the white walkers was dark, claustrophobic and strategically a shit show, yea because they never fought zombies before so they used regular military tactics and messed up. if youre talking about the battle and capital, remember Dany is already on a temper tantrum she feels shes been betrayed by everyone, and all the pent up rage has to go somewhere liek any average person, plus shes been known to have a nasty temper. second how greyworm reacted and acted during this season yeah his character done bad but it was also to give audience a sense of fear, because now greyworm now fights to protect 2 things and has fear of loss. All these complaints about how season 8 was horrible or shit show, dont forget they are also rushing to end the series. Just like how Avengers Endgame so many issues in the end but no ones perfect. deal with it, quit being little salty snowflakes.

The story began so well. Stealth, puzzles, paranormal mystery linked to a historical plague. Latinized English for every concoction, I mean, sure? But then shit just starts getting a little... You know. Rats go from photosensitive into kindling, exploding if they even get close to a flame. Making the paranormal beginning into a ham-fisted superpower plot, big oof.
The knights igniting by scraping weapons against armor, that's pushing it. I can see the small one going full child mode and running away on his own, but can't really make out why noone interfered with Melly's cautionless revenge thrill or the smith's son's stubbornness in life-or-death situations. You're moving through a passageway at night, with archers at a distance. Why not just extinguish fires and stealth through?
Melly's reaction to the kid before the, sigh, rats boss battle didn't seem really fitting, or should I say mistimed, as they were already aware of his powers by that point. The time skip after the battle's also a bit... All the given lore didn't really indicate what happened after surpassing the disease. Is the kid cured at last? Why did Melly leave after all they've been through, considering her character wasn't even willing to leave the chateau in favor of that new companionship? (Or, for the most skeptics, considering that family still owed her?) *When did all the rats disappear?*
Take that, you filthy eyes. 7 hours of wisdom and the scarcity of this amenity deserves a thousand likes.

I played the game and he did not die.. I don't remember him giving you any items or so, but he said he would not turn you in to his other fellows and let you pass.
it is possible to save him, I did - there is an achievement specifically for that
