For me Cultural relativists are true in their assertion that we should be more tolerant and accepting of cultural difference on occasion. Some activities done in foreign cultures are unusual and unfamiliar however different does not equal wrong and understanding about relativism might helps us remember that.

So based on the video, Cultural relativism is the view that there are no universal truths in ethics, and yes I'm FOR Cultural Relativism. It is because its not about judging one culture to another but Its about respecting and understanding each others differences, which is for me a good traits to have in this diverse world. No criticism means peace in our society even from the fact of our differences, and I think Cultural relativism will have a great impact to our world.

For me, I am not against cultural relativism. In shorter term I see cultural relativism simply as respect. Respect to others cultures, norms, customs, etc. Unlike ethnocentrism where people always referring to their own societal experiences and judge other’s if it is not righteous in their vision, cultural relativism is fairer in understanding the differences of everyone’s norms in life or in society. Thinking this kind of way is easier for the people to accept the fact that they don’t like other’s culture. Others with different cultures will understand that some people are not fine with it as long as they show respect rather than judging it and showing them extreme disgust. The people when being a culture relativist can understand that this culture of others is just as similar as theirs. It is just demonstrated or performed in a different way. There is no wrong if other people are doing ways different from yours, because both of you don’t share the same values, so just understand theirs and do yours. That is why I agree with this since I see no wrong by having this kind of thinking of respecting other’s culture which is different from mine.

I am not opposed to it since it is necessary to maintain peace and order. We must accept other people's cultural beliefs and use the opportunity to learn more about them rather than condemning them just because they are "unfamiliar" or contradict our own.

I am not against in cultural relativism because culture is the beliefs, behaviors, objects, and other characteristics shared by groups of people. Someone could very well say that they are influenced by internet culture, rather than an ethnicity or a society. Culture could be based on shared ethnicity, gender, customs, values, or even objects. Cultural relativism refers to not judging a culture to our own standards of what is right or wrong, strange or normal. Instead, we should try to understand cultural practices of other groups in its own cultural context.

I am in FOR cultural relativism, because its serves as a way to remind me and also other people to know our limits and show some respect on other peoples culture and beliefs, and not be judgemental base on what we see, think, and hear about them. And to be honest, it doesn't really matter whether were in for and againts cultural relativism, as long as we know our place and have a respect for others in our hearts and lifes, we dont have to think about the cultural relativism in order to show understanding and respect for others culture and beliefs.

This means that what one culture considers morally correct may be regarded morally wrong by another. One argument against cultural relativism is that if it were true, cultures would be unable to criticize their own culture, implying that no cultural change would occur.

•Cultural relativism was something I agreed to. We must embrace and respect people's ideas if we want to understand them and have them appreciate our own cultural values. Having the knowledge that no one's beliefs are wrong. We also live in different countries, with various tribes, views and traditions that are ethically acceptable to us but not to them. Because of those characteristics, we are different from one another, which makes us unique. Mutual respect is also demonstrated by understanding one other's cultures. There's nothing wrong with believing what you and your country did; what's wrong is criticizing someone's culture without first learning about and experiencing it. Better focus on your own culture and refrain from criticizing others' for fear of causing conflict. As an outcome, we lack the authority to pass judgment on others based on their cultural preferences.

I totally agreed in cultural relativism since all of our opinions as a cultural group matters. We should respect what others own perspective because we've never been in their situation. Just like in our religous beliefs we should treat them equally on how they us as a Christian. No one system is better than any other, no matter the variance from culture to culture.

For me, I am not against about cultural relativism because now a days there some group of people or country that they always believing in there beliefs from their ancient history and been used today's generation. Example the gesture of reaching out to shake another person's hand as greeting, and so many more. Every country has different beliefs we have more different beliefs that's why we respect others cultural belief. We need also to adopt to them and their practices to show some respect. I think its good to try some new things to experience and learning it.

Today there are about 7 billion people living in this world. With that amount of people living their life it is amazing that one of us is unique in our way. We have many differences and one of that is our culture. Every country has a culture and every culture is different from the others and we have to respect that. For me I am not against cultural relativism because as what I have said we have different culture we are living in one place and we have to put that in mind that everyone of us is living in a different way. Also, for me culture is one of the ways to identify what country are you from or what country you are being raised. Being able to understand each other’s culture is also a sign of respect. There is no wrong in doing what you and your country believed, what is wrong is you judge someone’s culture without enough knowledge and without experiencing what their culture is. Just focus on what is yours and refrain judging others culture because it can cause a chaos.

For me I am not against about the cultural relativism, let say, Yes it has advantage and disadvantages but let's focus more on its good value or in its good side. My reasons why I am not against in this cultural relativism it is becauseIt is a system which promotes cooperation.
For the most part, humanity is strong because of the differences we all have. Every individual has a different perspective that is based on their upbringing, experiences, and personal thoughts. By embracing the many differences we have, the cooperation creates the potential for a stronger society. Each individual definition of success allows us to pursue stronger bonds with one another and potentially achieve more because there are no limitations from a group level and what can or cannot be accomplished. Then It creates a society where equality is possible.
In any society, people rise by climbing on top of other people. It is a socially acceptable way of creating discrimination. We see this today in the wage gap that women face, the educational opportunities that minority groups face, and the violence we see because of political oppression. Cultural relativism allows the individual to define their moral code without defining the moral code of others. Each person is separate in such a society. That separation creates equality because each person can set their own definition of success.People can pursue a genuine interest.
In the modern society, people are funneled toward certain career options because of their circumstances. If you can’t afford to go to college, then you pursue a vocational career or some sort of entrepreneurship instead of a career that requires a graduate degree. If you can’t afford to buy a house, you go rent an apartment. In cultural relativism, you get to pursue your own interests without restriction. You set the definitions of what you can have and what you cannot have. When implemented successfully, each person would get to focus on their strengths instead of their weaknesses. Also Respect is encouraged in a system of cultural relativism.
People come from different cultures. They have different ideas. They pursue different definitions of success. Because such a system promotes the individual’s definition instead of a group definition, a society can evolve because there is a natural level of respect built into the process. Each person is naturally given the right to pursue life through their own specific perspective and then learn from their experiences in a way that works best for them.It preserves human cultures.
Humanity is a very diverse set of thoughts, traditions, ideas, and practices. Many times, the traditions of humanity are set aside so that a group set of standards can be appeased. Native and First Nations tribes in North America did this by signing treaties which would help them to preserve some lands, but limit their rights by being subject to a new governmental authority. They were forced to trade some of their culture. Under the theory of cultural relativism, such a trade would not be necessary. It wouldn’t even be a consideration. Cultural relativism creates a society without judgment.
We are so trained to judge others in today’s world that we don’t even give it a second thought. Looking at someone and saying, “Glad that isn’t me,” is a judgment. Under the theory of cultural relativism, judgment goes away. The only person that judges you is yourself. People who might disagree with you are able to set their own codes and standards for their own individualistic bubble. Instead of worrying about others, you only worry about yourself.Moral relativism can be excluded from cultural relativism.
Each culture can be treated as an individual under the theory of cultural relativism. This means the moral codes of a culture can be defined and an expectation implemented that people follow it. Although other cultures may not setup such a restriction, and others might say such a restriction isn’t a true form of cultural relativism, people in such a system can do what makes the most sense for them. You’re focusing on the customs of a culture, not the morality that is imposed upon those customs. We can create personal moral codes based on societal standards with ease.
To determine if a decision would be “right” or “wrong,” cultural relativism allows individuals to consult with the standards of their society or culture. It is a simple test to determine the course that a person should take in such a circumstance. By consulting with the moral code of the culture, one question must be asked: does the action conform to the cultural moral code? If it does, then the action is permitted. Although this process can allow for disturbing results, most cultures are based on inclusion instead of exclusion. It is only in structures where apartheid, segregation, or purging where disturbing outcomes are typically present, and last It stops cultural conditioning.
People tend to adapt their attitudes, thoughts, and beliefs to the people they are with on a regular basis. This is cultural conditioning and it prevents people from having an individualistic perspective. Cultural relativism stops this.

As a way to understand and research the differences between cultures, the cultural context of one's actions and beliefs without inciting my own biases. Then yes, I'm for Cultural Relativism.
But from a moral standpoint, I'm against cultural relativism. Because of the problems that I've read about in a forum, "If CR is true, it becomes impossible to say that any culture is morally better than any other." I guess that sounds nice, but that's a pretty crazy view. There are cultures that respect human rights, take care of the poor, don't murder people for being albinos, etc. And there are cultures that don't allow women to vote, punish gays with death, allow slavery, have no free press, cut the clitorises out of young girls, etc. According to CR, all these cultures are morally equivalent. And that's fucked up. "And that just doesn't go well with me.

As a youth of a modern and diversified world, I am in favor of cultural relativism wherein it signifies that there is no one culture and morality considered correct or wrong, superior and inferior to another. In my case, I know what it feels to be judged because of my culture and me as an individual which I believe is correct yet some couldn’t accept it and it hurts knowing the fact that they don’t understand me and the story behind. In addition, cultural relativism has a huge impact on everyone’s lives because it opens and enlightens the mind of an individual about the importance of respect and acceptance in different cultures around the globe. As a matter of fact, it widens my knowledge about how important respecting and accepting is to every culture to the lives of its possessor because it expresses love despite their differences.

accepting and respecting others cultural beliefs is the thing we consider if we want to understand them well and for them to respect our own. Knowing the fact that every beliefs is not wrong. And also the fact that we live in different country, and we have different races, beliefs, culture and practices that are ethically right to us but wrong for them. Due to that differences, we differ from one another that makes us unique. Therefore, we don't have the right to judge the others according to their culture.

Cultural relativism is not something I oppose. In the near run, I consider cultural relativism to be nothing more than respect. Respect for other people's cultures, conventions, and traditions, for example. Cultural relativism is more fair in understanding the diversity in everyone's norms in life or in society than ethnocentrism, where people always refer to their own societal experiences and blame others if they are not righteous in their perspective. Cultural relativism refers to the refusal to judge a culture according to our own criteria of what is right or wrong, unusual or normal. Anthropologists say that when we think about different cultures and societies, we should think about their customs in a way that helps us make sense of how their cultural practices fit within their overall cultural context. But against ethically, there are cultures that been preserve for decades and cultures that benefits or can cause harm both human and environment.

Are you For or Against Cultural Relativism? Explain your answer.
    Answer:
Cultural Relativism is part of moral theory map out about what actions are right and wrong. To know how to accept other culture and avoid judging them because they have their own beliefs. Cultural Relativism is a theory that attempts to explain an idea that no culture and that all people's perspectives are biased by their own cultural background. I'm not against cultural relativism nor support the moral standards because it will guide us to discover every other culture between other countries. Accepting is the best way of peace through accepting we can gain knowledge from someone. As what i research about other culture and what we seen in TV or browsing the internet we can discover other culture and beliefs. We will be expose on their culture even though we are just watching from the internet and imagining if we can do their culture. But we already adapt other culture especially those who idolize Korean or Kpop and Kdrama based on their costumes, foods, even though their language. Most Filipinos wanted to try everything about Korean culture not just in Korea but also Japan, China, Thailand and other countries. We want to discover and from our discovery we can gain knowledge and experience. But other people disagree about the topic because they believed that there is not such thing as universal truth in ethics there are only various cultural codes and nothing more. Cultural Relativism will challenge our ordinary beliefs but those challenges will encourage us to strive more and to be will known about something different. In my case in this world there's no absolutely truth especially when it comes to culture but this is just based on beliefs the reasons why I believe moral relativism, different people has their own perspective about what's moral and immoral views and we has no reason to judge them because we are all equal when it comes to our own choices.

Using the perspective of cultural relativism leads to the view that no one culture is superior than another culture when compared to systems of morality, law, politics, etc. It is a concept that cultural norms and values derive their meaning within a specific social context.
Cultural relativists are correct that sometimes we should be more tolerant and accepting of cultural differences. Some things done in other cultures are unfamiliar and may seem strange. But “different” is not the same as “wrong,” and learning about relativism can remind us of that.
But just because some culture approves of something does not mean it’s OK. Cultures, like individuals, sometimes approve of practices that are very wrong: they aren’t perfect and neither are we.
Rejecting cultural relativism usually involves accepting ethical realism, that what’s ethical is determined by factors that are “objective” and not relative to cultural attitudes: whether actions are harmful or beneficial to whoever is affected by them, or whether actions are done with the consent of all involved, and other objective considerations.
What’s of primary philosophical interest is not that some culture approves or disapproves of an action, but why, their reasons.

I think there are basic rules of every community in order to apply to the whole human race, regardless of culture. I believe that every culture has a prohibition against killing other people. Some cultures build rules around that which allow for exceptions. Sometimes you have to accept people from another culture might see things differently from yourself. When the other culture’s methods might be inferior to the shared goal of doing business, it should be discussed with humility. The starting of problems seems to stem between the confusion between the ethics and the morals of a person. Interested in what people call morality, and what is the central concern of sociology and anthropology, and what I call "categorical imperative" Non-assertive statements-to deal with what philosophers want. One is to ask what people call morality. The other is asking what to do. Still, both people tend to talk beyond each other and forget that other perspectives exist. Moreover, there seems to be a surge in philosophically uneducated laymen who confuse both positions when elaborating their worldview based on naive science. Itself does not claim that everything is relative, but morality is relative. There is nothing that is essentially inconsistent with it. Because they generally do not consider the truth to be relative, they only hold that the truth of the statement should be relative. The central claim of cultural relativism is not something that should be done, so no problem arises here.

I am for the Cultural Relativism cause every culture was made by our ancestors and we must respect it and accept it cause it was there before we are born and we have no rights to judge it.

I'm not against with cultural relativism because we live in different places that has different cultural practices. Instead of judging, we must understand and accept the differences of other groups or one's own culture. Being against in cultural relativism does affects each owns lives such as bullying, violence, making fun it's culture practices, and etc. Adjusting one's culture is a way to keep peace and good relationship.

I am AGAINST cultural relativism. It has many downsides. One of which is passivity. Allowing cannibalism just because it is part of one's culture is an example of passivity. Cannibalism is very immoral and this tradition leads to many premature deaths. And we shouldn't tolerate any immoral acts. Perhaps the bigger problem with cultural relativism is that, beyond being a tool for learning about a society, it does little to help us evaluate the society once we have learned about it.

Are you FOR or AGAINST cultural relativism?
For me, personally, I go for cultural relativism because I want to support and respect each and everyone’s cultural beliefs and opinions. In addition, it is necessary to maintain peace and order to avoid misunderstanding and can cause conflict for each other. Moreover, we must practice to accept each others cultural beliefs; instead of discriminating against one's cultural beliefs; we must try to adapt other cultural practices.

In order to tolerate it is inevitable that what is tolerated has to become an integral part of my structure of thoughts.
I can only take refugee and seek shelter by ignoring customs and practices I cannot agree to.
Shall we tolerate child marriage or oppression of female rights such as female circumcision ? Just to give some examples. No ! Best is to ignore and let them. Otherwise one has to face the accusations of moral fascism and end up in interminable discussions if not even physical violence.

What about female genital mutilation? Or cultures that go against universal human rights? In no way this is acceptable. For many customs and practices, there is no relatisvism that is acceptable

Yes, but for the cultural relativist these are acceptable (or rather must be accepted).

I support cultural relativism because it means that we should not judge a culture according to our own principles of right or wrong, strange or normal. Instead, we should try to comprehend other groups' cultural practices in their own cultural context. Have you ever seen or eaten food from another country that you thought was strange and gross, such as fried roaches or fried crickets? "Fried crickets are disgusting!" instead of "Fried crickets are disgusting!" "Rather, one should ask, "Why do some cultures actually eat fried insects?" ”. It's possible that you'll discover that fried crickets or grasshoppers are high in protein. And let’s say that in China, its famous exotic street foods have been eaten for thousands of years as a healthy food source. In conclusion, we must avoid judging the cultural practices of groups that are different than ours.

    Answer:
I am in cultural relativism, because What if someone told you their culture was the internet? Would that make sense to you? Culture is the beliefs, behaviors, objects, and other characteristics shared by groups of people. Given this, someone could very well say that they are influenced by internet culture, rather than an ethnicity or a society! Culture could be based on shared ethnicity, gender, customs, values, or even objects. Can you think of any cultural objects? Some cultures place significant value in things such as ceremonial artifacts, jewelry, or even clothing. For example, Christmas trees can be considered ceremonial or cultural objects. They are representative in both Western religious and commercial holiday culture.

-A culture is a way of beliefs, of what behavior we are, and the values and it could be based on our personalities. And I'm not the one of against cultural, because from the beginning we already know and we choose our culture and we can't control other person of what culture they believe. And because of cultural relativism we have rights to choose of what we wants, for example about food we don't have choice to choose of what food we want but now we can't judge people of what food they want.

Personally, are you FOR or AGAINST Cultural Relativism? Explain your answer.
    Answer:
For me, im not against to the cultural relativism. Why?Because according to its definition of cultural relativism in the video presentation that there is no absolute moral standard for judging an action as good or bad. And it means all culture and moralities are equally, that's why judging every culture and beliefs are wrong , because they are not the same culture and you should respect each other for better a relationship. Why im not against of cultural relativism? Because if you are against of cultural relativism, so it means there are superior to other culture either your culture or the other. And thier is a possible consequence of that behavior, you can create a crucial conflict of understand each group that differ in belief and culture and as we can see or compare of what happen last or past history between two different cultures the christians and the muslim that create a bloody war between the two of them. And i don't want to happen it again.

Answer: Concurring to the social relativist perspective, no culture is predominant to another when it comes to ethical quality, law, legislative issues, and so on. Social standards and values, agreeing to social relativism, determine their meaning from a particular social setting.

According to the video, cultural relativism means that there is no absolute moral criteria for assessing whether an activity is good or terrible, right or wrong. It claims that there are no universal ethical truths.
Personally, I am a supporter of cultural relativism. Why? Cultural relativism aims to eliminate ethnocentrism, which I believe is a morally reprehensible trait. Morality is culture bound and one's culture determines whether one's action is good or bad that makes the world to be diverse for its moral beliefs and practices. Cultural relativism reduces the stigma that people feel of judging cultures that are different from their own. Isn't it also unethical to oppose other people's cultures? Respecting is a must in ethics and judging someone's culture just because it differs from yours is unmoral itself.

Personally, are you FOR or AGAINST Cultural Relativism?
For me, I'm not against Cultural Relativism, because it may have a place when living in one society, but in order to stay in that culture, one must accept the laws of that culture. Female castration, for example, is illegal, as are many cultural traditions associated with the Muslim political religion. They are allowed to go and practice their standards in their own nation in this situation. We must judge, or we will become a lawless, immoral society.
