I LOVE Cabinets of Curiosities! I found that putting organic things like plants, entomology, and coral, really beautifies the cabinets so much. I love your taste!
Not me panicking about my collection of hundreds of green books now wondering if any of them are poisonous 😂 but also, this is stunning girl!!! I know you’d do this cabinet justice 👏🏻 that diy tea pot print is so special ❤
I doubt that. The dose makes the poison, as they used to say. Long time ago my boss at the pharmacy told us anecdotal stories about these greedy/desperate persons back in the day, who wanted to speed up the process of inheriting from their older relatives by slowly poisoning them with arsenic. Turns out that in very low dosage it actually is a tonic which prolonged the life of the victims and made them much more resilient - to the chargin of the hopeful perpetrators. 😋😅
What a beautifully curated cabinet! The feet are so amazing. Do you ever wonder where it will be 100+ years from now, thanks to your loving care? Love the teapot 🫖, ❤the very thoughtful touch
“I can’t keep up with myself”. Best line I’ve heard today !! Thank you for giving me permission to start pulling out my Halloween treasures. Hope you and the lil guy are enjoying splashing about in the backyard. Love to you and Luke 🤍🤍🤍
What timing in the video is the price mentioned thanks, that's just unbelievable, where I'm from a cabinet like that would be over a thousand if it even turns up amongst second hand websites. I'm in Asia so good luck to me
I kept having to stop the video because of the naughtiest kitty. Lol! The cabinet looks great! Very...curious. I've never heard of the poisonous books thing. I'll have to look into that.
Lovely decor! May ask, how do you store your seasonal items? If you have any tips or a peek into your storage area, that would be amazing. Adore your home. Blessings from the great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Wa!💛🖤💛
The cabinet could not be more perfect for your dark academia style. Love the rounded glass on the sides. All your found treasures look amazing. Btw... your eyes always look amazing. What do you use under your bottom lashes for such a soft smokey look.
Thank you sweet friend! Girl, I owe you a link!! Seeing your message reminded me that I went to find the link for the necklace and got pulled away and never got back to it! This is the necklace I have, she does custom engraving on them as well. I take my mom with me everywhere I go! There are a lot of beautiful options on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/785781069/
I got on board because of the Dark Academia style and you never disappoint! When I first saw your Channel and you used thrifted silver plates as Chargers I.Was.Hooked. thanks so much for your inspiration!
I was about to throw out my late mother's hand mirror because I had no use for it. It's not dissimilar to the one you have placed in your curio cabinet - so now I have an idea on how to use it. THANK YOU. (I really didn't want to throw it out.) What a wonderful video. So full of ideas. (And I really loved the choice of music.) x
I love how the label on one of your bottles has the guy with the mustache and he looks a lot like the portrait on top of the curio cabinet. But gosh I just love everything!
I didn't know that about green antique books, although I suppose having a poisonous book in your cabinet would definitely be a curiosity. I'm in the process of rebuilding my collections and green is my favorite, so I'll research more on that. It's nice to gather things from around your house because a lot of them have meaning. Finding a birds nest, interesting stones, feathers, dried flowers and seed pods from your garden, putting them in jars, and labeling them or framing them make nice additions. I especially liked how you stamped the teapot and framed it to remind you of your mom - that was the best! Enjoyed watching your process and the results are eye catching, thanks for sharing!
I have just found your channel it is so beautiful and inspirational. I love how different your style is and that I have unusual items that I love styling with similar to you. I look forward to looking a the back catalog of your videos. Thank you.
Great steal on the cabinet! Looks great the way you staged it. A couple bundles of dried flower/herb dead plants would be sweet on a tray or you could do a mini dry rope and have them hanging down. Maybe look for a mug rack and stage the tiny bundles of plants hanging off it. If you have a poisonous book why not have some poisonous herbs 😂
Thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoyed! We’ve been in this house for three years and still have such a long way to go. Guess there won’t be a shortage of projects to share with you! 😅
I too am drawn to scary, creepy things. I love the books you bought for $2 and I would be willing to bet they are worth a whole lot more. Your beautiful cabinet looks great styled!!! Not long until Halloween 👻
I love a mood board too!!!! I have lot of family antiques and in the process of moving to a new build home. I'm always doing the screen shots and taking pics but, I just crop and make a collage.
I've never heard about the older green colored books potentially being poisonous - could you tell us the name of the group you found? I have a few from the 1890's. Love your cabinet of curiosities! Oh, I'm a new subscriber!!
It looks amazing!! Also thank you for including how you do your mood boards, having a visual of how it to do it makes it click so much more for me. Trying this soon!!
So beautiful!!! Thank you for the information about the book. I collect old books, but did not know that the greens ones could potential be poisonous. I love the area rug in your mood board. Can you post the link when you show it off please?
Oh my gosh this just brought me down memory lane! My grandma had a mini coo coo clock figure exactly like that and it was a pencil sharpener. I wonder if that one is. That just inspired me to do an ebay hunt to find one! Been so excited for this cabinet style video and never would have anticipated the huge amount of joy it brought me. 🖤🤗😘
Awesome. I love how you put things together and make them cohesive. Great info on how you put together your board too. I am going to have to get more familiar with Canva. Thanks.
Your Halloween videos are so much fun, Krysta! We have similar taste and you've given me lots of inspiration. Your cabinet is a great find! BTW your man portrait bears some resemblance to H.H. Holmes, which gave me quite a a chill! Loved it!
This turned out great! It’s still sweltering here in North Carolina, so I haven’t even Beto think about fall ☺️ I’m very interested in the site you found that listed some of the books that could be poisonous, I’ve never even considered that, I’m usually more focused on mold and mildew smells, thanks for sharing that information!
I’m guessing you maybe put it together once and then did it a second time on film? We wouldn’t mind watching you futz with it and make changes. Also, love that you put the baby carriage right next to the skull.
I also have that portrait. He is absolutely beautiful up close. I had created a portrait wall in my bedroom which is Harry Potter themed and wanted a portrait wall. I saw this portrait on another TH-cam video and bought it off of Stay with some others. I wish I could make this cabinet too, but I just don't have the space.
The book. Not copyright date. Its the print date. There will be a list in the front of the book. It will be the newest date. My dad was an indentured printer. Printing the old way as per your book xx
Thank you friend, I find this room specifically keeps giving me Huffle Puff common room vibes!! I knooooow, I had no clue!! Are you inspecting them all now? 😅
Loved this! Especially the potentially poisonous book in the cabinet of curiosities! Haha What's the name of the company that makes those drippy wax candles? They look amazing!
All of these things are dark and cool but I wondered when you got it all in, did you wish you had picked things that were old but lighter and could be seen? For example French Ivory might be cool, it’s not ivory but a warm old look and it’s just a creamy colored plastic material. The dark case makes the items very hard to see. The silver or brass can catch the light. I have an old dark cabinet I did that with too. But I ended up using old silver and lighter items later instead. I mean tarnished silver or brass. Well in case you get bored you can try that next 😂
I'm new to your station. I love the white walls with the dark furniture. I'm kinda doing the same thing but in a cottage style. Are you going do anything outside of the house? I wish we get the prices of antiques like you guys do. We're in the city st. Louis. I want to use gel stain on my bed but I'm after it will get on my quilt. Did you put a sealer on it?
Some books published in the mid 19th century contain arsenic. Emerald green. The verdant hue, also known as Paris Green contain arsenic, which is toxic.
Very creative. Is this staying up til Halloween? I just put up two Christmas trees in two bedrooms.. they are tall narrow trees so dont take up a lot of space , and i was minimal w the decor but its been a 115 here in AZ and im just craving fall/ winter vibes... ❄️🌨️
Hahaha the amount of times I helped my mom move furniture around as the season began to change is insane!! Thank goodness for mood boards and Pinterest LOL!!! My back appreciates not moving heavy furniture around every few months
Still an effective method! 😆 I do think when arranging you can’t really see how it’ll look without doing the heavy lifting but for determining purchases it does help to create a board. ☺️
Yesss, I forgot to link it! Keep in mind I can’t speak to quality since I’ve not received mine yet but hoping it’s a good one!! Also, thank you!! 🥹🖤 amzn.to/3Dq6r8N

Like hooooow did we not know this?! 😅 Thank you sweet friend! I need a bat in a cloche… plus some other fun oddities but the hunt is half the fun! 🖤
I doubt that. The dose makes the poison, as they used to say. @@marklee3587 Sorry, even in low doses arsenic is harmful to the health. Its definitely NOT any kind of tonic.
You have such an eye for detail. It is perfect.
I love it! The items are so unique. ❤
Did not know about poisonous books! Good to know.
What a beautifully curated cabinet! The feet are so amazing. Do you ever wonder where it will be 100+ years from now, thanks to your loving care? Love the teapot 🫖, ❤the very thoughtful touch
Love, love, love. Your styling is right up my alley. Love the moodiness and the music. Turned out perfect.❤️💕❤️

Just fabulous I will try to replicate this apothecary cabinet, I just love it❤❤❤❤❤
You create such beautiful vignettes. You are very talented.

Looks great, I had no idea about poisonous books, how interesting!
I’m not one for the darker side of things but you have curated very nice items and displayed them beautifully!
that cabinet for 75 buck is a total steal! beautiful
What timing in the video is the price mentioned thanks, that's just unbelievable, where I'm from a cabinet like that would be over a thousand if it even turns up amongst second hand websites. I'm in Asia so good luck to me
You have great composition skills and a good eye for color
Very interesting! And oh so cool!
Everything itself is a place to rest your mind, and to think, to dream.

Wow.. you have the eye for sure! For me, I know what I want but doing it and actually achieving the look is something different..😂😂. 😊
