Jada pinkett wrote the treatment/concept for this video and was set to direct it but according to some people she couldn't do it due to filming another movie. And according to others she couldn't do it due to will Smith not wanting her to. Lol
Great reaction to this classic Song and Video with Pac and Dre 🔥 I see you throw your west side up🤣 This is the original version that Dr.Dre first produced for his self in 1995 before Tupac was released from prison and joined Death Row...The story is Dr.Dre was gonna use "California Love" for his upcoming album that he was going to release on Death Row but Suge insisted that Dre give this song to Tupac as a collab for them both and Dre deleted his 2nd verse and allowed Tupac to record his verse which was right after he signed with Death Row around October 1995...A month after they shot the first video which was a play off to "Mad Max" which was Jada Pinkett idea along with Dre and she was supposed to direct the video but her schedule of shooting the movie "Set It Off" and also Will Smith not wanting her around Tupac and Death Row made her not do it... The song was released in December 1995 around Christmas time and right after that they remixed "California Love" and also shot the video for it and released it...The remix version of "California Love" sounds much different and the 2nd video was shot in LA at the Compton Swap Meet and at a Mansion somewhere in LA...The 2nd video was better in my opinion
