I hadn't thought about this in a few years, but I have apple devices and android devices, and I was able to use a mirroring application that would allow me to connect my ipad to my tv. So if I wanted to cast, I could.. IF I wanted to use my ipad as a cam, with viewing on my tv, I could do that as well. It also works device to device. I do believe that I had to be on the same network though. lol. And I didn't have to worry about using the same icloud email.. I sometimes use my old iphones as security cams when I'm gone.. lol. This was good to know. Thanks for sharing.
It doesn't work as easy as you're saying. I have an iPhone 16. I'm trying to use it as my webcam with my Mac mini M4. I don't see an option to select the iPhone as an input for microphone, nor as a camera.

@@aarontoalet have you tried while on zoom or Google meets?
@ I found out the issue. Prior to doing anything, you have to connect your iPhone to your Mac with a cable and click “trust”.
