Kind of a new age romancing lounge singer, isn't he? It's sort of like he took off from the Pet Shop Boys & Soft Cell. Don't get me wrong, I like most of The Smiths & Morrissey, it's listenable, effectual, although, I think of him as more of a "stylist".
Music is superb in that version. Found their 4 disc cd’s when their “best 1 & 2 were released in the 90’s way before the internet… had a couple of her smiths covers.
