Are we confusing opening a gate between 2 universes with incursions? incursions are unorderly, portals/Gates are caused due to a difference in energy/potential between 2 universes. I think we got confused when Monica said "There's a different reality bleeding into ours". She went on to the other side to balance that energy, which closes the gate.
The song that played during the Flerken kittens eating the staff scene was Memory from the musical Cats. I actually thought that was pretty funny. “Please don’t run. Let the Flerkens eat you.”
I was laughing, especially at the woman cowering behind a wall from the tiny fluff balls, and then she does the horror movie look over her shoulder, and two adorable kittens are looking up at her. Slurp. "Don't run. Let the Flerkens eat you." hahaha
I know the movie is on the lower end of MCU ratings but that was probably the happiest i felt watching a MCU movie in a long time. Had so much personality without trying to imitate GotG
Monica being able to be intangible and phase through solid objects is the same thing Vision could do, and her powers came from Wanda, who got her powers from the Mind stone. I don't know if that was intentional or coincidence.
Monica didnt get her Powers from Wanda. Something or Event happen to Monica during her childhood that not shown. Her going through the Hex fully trigger her Powers.
In the comics, she always had those "phase" powers. The MCU MONICA RAMBEAU is an almost an exact match with the comics version except with how she got her powers, and also her mother and father are still alive in the comics. Thise are just some of the differences but the powers are pretty spot on in the MCU.
I think the Flerkins are actually really smart, because not only do they recognize bad guys easily enough, but also they recognize Skrulls when they are shape-shifted. The coffee maker is kind of simplistic, as Carol shined her laser pointer to it, even if Goose knew how to trigger it.
In the comics, flerkins have a human level of intelligence to go with their cat instincts. They're smart, but like any cat, they have their own reasons for what they do. Also, in the comic, Chewy follows Carol from an alternate reality to the normal Marvel reality. And she's the only flerken known to still exist (until the kittens). Flerkens were wiped out in the 616. I suspect she followed Carol because Chewy knew that Carol could protect it. And Carol does. It's in the issue where Rocket discovers what Chewy really is. After he can't kill her, he tries to sell her because he's Rocket, so he does that stuff.
The hate for this movie is highly overrated. I actually enjoyed it. We can't keep SCALING up from Endgame. At one point a new story needs to start, and that is the problem with most of the "naysayers". I do quite enjoy this direction... Also, I love that Monica will be able to somehow say goodbye to Captain Rambeau.
The song is actually "Memory" from the musical Cats, also by Andrew Lloyd Webber. That's why they used it during the Flerkittens scene. We laughed so hard at that part.
I was watching with my housemate and we were both laughing so hard we were crying 😂. And yes, the fact that it was Memory from Cats added such a funny level!
@@darthdodge good comment; but yeah it does matter to me. Been listening to AI covers of some of my favourite songs all week. Yeah it does matter. As you say though; that beautiful blue bastard reappearing is a good thing either way 😂
@@randyschwaggins Or how popular the x-men are. The x-men was the comicbook flagship for Marvel prior to Perlmutter and Quesada throwing a hissyfit realizing what they'd sold off, and they were popularized among a general audience by the Fox movies. The Avengers were popularized to make use of them for the movies since X-men and Spiderman were offlimits at the time. They were't overly popular as comics until they got a big push. Getting tmhe in the Marvel Universe finally is a big thing a lot of people were waiting for.
I appreciate everyone in your comments section, a collective bunch of Marvel loving fans. People whom actually watched the film and are sharing valid opinions. It’s okay to have differing opinions, but lots of people out there on other social media platforms are being so toxic and not even have watched the film. Thanks for your breakdown, as always it’s great. Hope we can all convince more people to watch The Marvels, it deserves better.
Loved the movie. One thing that needs to be clarified from what Charlie says is that the hand wavy explanation for why they are entangled is that they have the same power set, yes, but also that they were interacting with that artificial wormhole network at the same time. Would love to hear what Charlie knows about that so-called mythology the Kree have for how all this stuff was created!
just hearing John Ottman's original X-Men theme in the post credits scene was like OMG NO WAY - like hearing this theme appear in the MCU was just insanity
As for the second bangle, Carol needed it to reignite the sun. They stated that earlier in the film. So, when Kamala gets off the ship, Carol has the second one and is using it to save Hala. However, what happens to it next...I dunno. Kamala intimating that they are her destiny kinda hints that she'll have both of them at some point, but not sure if a teenager needs that kind of power.
Thanks for the awesome breakdown! I just came back from seeing the movie with my son. We truly enjoyed the whole movie. I don't know what the critics are talking about, I thourghrally loved every moment of it. It was nice to see Monica Carol and Kamala together on the big screen. Iman was a joy to watch. I definitely can't wait to see her on screen again. 🎉🎉🎉
Just got back from watching it. It was a pretty fun ride! Iman Vellani was awesome in it! I watched both WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, so I was familiar with the background of those characters. So I went in with more knowledge than anyone who hadn't seen them. That being said, I DID have a few questions once the movie was over that they didn't answer. But I found it an enjoyable film!
Absolutely loved this movie, it was charming and humorous and the Action was very cleverly choreographed, they don't all have to be 'Endgame' to be fun
@@donkeyteethbites it looked like the bought it from Spirit Halloween. Thin Material and it didn’t fit her well. They all looked bad especially the people on the signing planet.
I haven’t liked many of the marvel movies since end game but I have watched every one opening night along with the tv shows. I was fully expecting this movie to be garbage but was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t perfect but I liked it.
This video has been a great help in catching me up on everything I missed when I saw the movie . I loved the movie. Need to see it again after watching your video. Many thanks.
I saw a lot of negative comments before we saw the movie, but we really enjoyed it. My son is asking for action figures but unfortunately they didn't release much merchandise. I'm excited to find out what timeline Monica ended up on..... maybe it's the universe that Deadpool is gets Wolverine from. Exciting!
Kinda sad the mid credits scene is to an extent making people overlook the fact that the movie itself was actually very solid and good on its own without that scene
8/10. Strong Marvel film with fun, laughs, simple but well explained story. Understandable villain with limited back story but totally makes sense. Powerful Mid credit scene. Kamala and her family were amazing. Well done Nia Dcosta (The director). I saw this movie twice already and its such a re-watchable that i want to go see it again. Captain Marvel movie one was very dull but this one is a breath of fresh air. The Marvels and Loki season 2 may have very much revived MCU. Now please Marvel. For the love of God stick to this formula and let the director lead their vision. I dont want to see another She Hulk type show or Thor 4.
Tbh was not expecting the xmen preview! It was so dope seeing Beast again! Was actually expecting more fantastic four but i'll happily take xmen in the mcu!
When the flerkins were eating the people, “memories” from the broadway play “Cats” was playing 😂 it was too funny. About half of my theater laughed out loud
Hey, just wanted to let you know that the song that played on the space station when the Flerkittens were eating people was “Memory” from the musical “Cats.” I hope that clears up the reason why it was playing while they were herding cats.😄😉
It's refreshing to see a video and it's comment section not railing on the movie or referring to it as "trash". My wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though it's not the best thing the MCU has produced, it was still more entertaining than some of the other mid-tier Marvel movies. The movie wasn't perfect, but it was easy enough to follow and I appreciated the wacky tone. That being said, I'm glad that next year is looking light on the Marvel movies. I'm sure Deadpool 3 will be a hit, but I can see how people need a break from it all. They really should have taken a couple of years off after Endgame, but I understand why that wasn't a real possibility. Anyway, great breakdown. Great comments section.
I sort of assumed Captain Marvel took the second bangle to give her the extra power needed to reignite the Hala sun. Even for Captain Marvel reigniting an entire sun all on her own is a bit OP.
FYI I'm sure it has already been mentioned below but when the cats are out, the music they play is not from Phantom of the Opera but from the musical Cats.
Incursions all over the place in the MCU. Loved the character balance between all 3 heroes. Great job by Nia DaCosta in directing and these actresses have great chemistry. Iman Vellani steals the show.
@@gags730 or people liked it for the wacky space adventure just like what gotg was With all the hyper jumps, weird humanoid aliens and creatures like flerkins running around Too me it felt like a James Gunn film but with more action Also a bit of taika with the weirdness as well and cosmic side Flerkins, the singing planet were in the comics just not featured as heavily like the films well obscure part of the comics
More unadulterated fun than I've had at an MCU film in a while. This should've swapped places with GOTG3 on the calendar. This is a perfect summer flix for the family, and I think Guardians 3's darker tone fits better with a Fall pace.
Hey Charlie! Love the videos. Just a quick note, the wielders of the Quantum Bands aren't referred to as Quasar. That was just the code name used by Wendell Vaughn, Avril Kincaid, and Phyla-Vell. The wielders of the Quantum Bands are usually know as the Protector of the Universe.
Thank you for actually focusing on the premise.I loved the movie, and thought too many who weren't Marvel fans to begin with descended on the film out of vitriol. I went to see it on my birthday the day it opened, because I was really looking forward to it. My partner went with me out of being a good sport, but he never saw any of the films of any of the characters and I can understand how his experience was different than mine. If you already love the characters and are invested in all of the different trajectories, I don't know how you couldn't appreciate so many aspects of it and how everything is connected. Thank you for this great breakdown.
Im well aware the internet is going to crap all over this movie but i loved it so much ,and its legitimately one of my absolutely favorite MCU movie now this is definitely better than quantumania ,and thor 4 it was so fun ,emotional at times, but was able to stick to the overall narrative, and set up so much in the future for the MCU😃.
I enjoyed this movie so well even thought the internet gave it bad reviews I actually preferred this than loki which was god awful and one of the worst iterations of the MCU so far idk why people are praising it.
As always, Charlie sharing his love and knowledge of Marvel! Thanx brother! Have to say was surprised how much I enjoyed the movie. "The Marvels" did a great acting job and had cool chemistry. The story/plot could have been better. Dar-Benn felt underdeveloped and simplistic, back to some of marvel's past mistakes. Don't blame the actors, that was definitely a script, rewrites, re-shoots, direction and post problem. Now, can't wait for the young avengers. Loved Hailee as Kate Bishop... Hawkeye was my second fav series, right after Loki s1 and s2. Also anxious to see the X-men! Beast and the professor name drop was cool... just wondering what universe it is.
I really enjoyed the movie! Top 3 favorite MCU films❤️ Best end and post credit scenes from any film! We’re having the multiverse expanding! The X-Men universe and every character there will end up on our earth in our 616 universe! And we have Ms Marvel creating the young avengers! The MCU is looking excellent😄❤️
Hi Charlie, someone already mentioned the song when the cats were born is from the musical "Cats" Andrew Lloyd Webber and it was funny. However, the song in the movie is credited to Barbra Streisand when it sounded to me and my companions like the Betty Buckley version. She won a Tony for it. Could they have messed up on the credits? That would be a major error in research for them. I enjoyed the movie but was disappointed by the low audience attendance we saw on a Saturday night. cheers, IR
I absolutely loved this movie. It was so good. It's a shame that it probably won't do as well as other movies at the box office for various reasons because this one deserves success. Between The Marvels and Loki, I like the direction that the MCU is going.
Even though it doesn’t look amazing I’m so glad they CGIed Beast so he could actually have the physical dimensions of Beast in the comics rather than looking like a normal man in prosthetics Beast has a Gorilla/Bear looking body Kelsey Grammer as Beast looked great in X-Men 3 except he had just a human body but Nicholas Hoult as Beast looked really lame especially when he’s swinging from stuff and throwing people around I hope when we see Nightcrawler they use CGI on his hands and feet rather than the actor having big fake looking prosthetics like in the Fox movies Another thing is I live they gave us a classic Beast I was worried that when we saw Beast in the MCU they’d give us the horrible looking “Cat-Beast”
28:50.... No, Carol was wearing the second bangle at the end of the movie. Kamala had hers and Carol had the other when they climbed into the plane at the end.
I know it has either been said by other comments, or in other videos, but it wasn't Phantom of the Opera music with Flerkins. It was Memory, a song from Cats, which I think is more of win with playing on camp.
Hey Charlie- the Memory song by Barbara was from the musical ‘Cats’. If she Brie - grew up in the 80’s, this would have drenched her radio waves growing up. An odd musical number from and odd Broadway production .
Mutates are also known as Altered Humans, which is more of a catch all term for all former normal Human's regardless of how they are altered. Hightech's are the likes of Tony Stark. Something the video skipped over, rather disrespectfully IMO, the Nega Bands were used by the OG Captain Marvel. Brie Larson's Captain Marvel would be the original Ms. Marvel. Who is the source of Rogues Super Strength, Enhanced Durability and Flight. Rogue accidentally drains Ms Marvel via Rogues Mutant ability, due to Ms Marvels enhanced abilities she only suffered a long coma and soon recovered to full strength after. Due to the extended period of Rogue touching Ms Marvel, those powers remained as a permanent addition to her Powers, if a little weaker than Ms Marvel's actual abilities. It's partially why Rogue wore a sash style belt for time, mimicing Ms Marvels red Sash belt, remnant personality traits and habits tend to stick if Rogue drains someone for long enough. She even temporarily takes on the Juggernauts hatred of Professor X when she is successfully able to drain him in the OG Xmen cartoon. Though, both her and Juggernaut suffer a blowback effect of her X gene ability interacting with Juggernauts Magically Altered body & powers. (Yes, Juggernaut isn't a Mutant, he's a Magically Altered Human). The X gene isn't a given, regardless of one's parents.
The movie was actually really good! The audience was laughing a lot in my theater, but it wasn’t overly silly. The end scene was so surprising for me! I was thrilled, especially that it’s the original actor.
Same in my theater It was refreshing to see Nick Fury almost goofy crazy behind Goose and I think the comedic chemistry was clearly visible for the entire cast
@@siggi5944 to each their own! It’s the only MCU movie since End Game (besides Spider-Man No Way Home, of course!) where I left feeling like it was a good experience.
I have watched every marvel movie since the beginning and I really have to say o enjoyed This movie so much. I don’t see why people where so negative about this movie. It was fun, to the point and had some great Easter eggs. It’s just like the comics where an iron man comic is not going to be the same as captain marvel comic but each in the own right are good. Ms. Marvel was so funny and her family and the relationship with captain marvel and Monica was emotional. I laughed hard and I felt for the characters. I really had a good time at the movie so to me that makes it a good movie!! Great video Charlie and I love your commentary it’s always positive and objective as a fan. Always tunes in.
I didn’t hate this movie. One thing I love is it started right off and was pretty action packed thought the movie. It was short and concise. Shortest movie ever. The ending FINALLY started putting everything together and of course everyone cheering seeing Beast.
I really enjoyed this movie. A heap of lol moments some great set pieces and the trio of heroes were really good together. How a movie can be so down voted before it’s even out is just mind boggling. In its defence and I think this is the problem with most current MCU movies is the time it’s taken between covid, and strikes to bridge the gap between projects. That and the Disney plus model. By that I mean the movies gonna release on d+ within a year so let’s wait. Maybe I see it wrong. But good movie.
I really hope Florence Pugh isnt stuck with just the Thunderbolts. Her and Kate Bishop had awesome and hilarious chemistry in the Hawkeye series they could of had their own show. Be a huge missed opportunity to not have the new Black Widow in the young avengers.
Secret Invasion is the only MCU Phases project I didn’t like… but it does have some cool stuff, and Sam Jackson is always Sam Jackson and that can’t be bad.
i think it was very cool how kamala didn't need the bangels at the end. shes to be fully into her mutant powers. i hope no one else gets them though. she needs to keep the quantum bands hidden though so doesnt get into wrong hands...or wrists
@@prefontaine2790 makes sense. Kamala has embraced her mutant powers. Maybe they’ll bring them back when someone else needs them or some evil may peruse it again
@@FlamingoSandwich no they were both from their dimension. They cut it out, but they had a scene showing Quasar dying & leaving his band on Earth. And in the credit scene, Maria Rambeau is wearing both bands.
Just saw 'The Marvels.' I didn't see where all the hate was coming from? I understand it wasn't a huge BLOCKBUSTER but, I don't consider it a "flop." This movie was good. I think this movie moved the chains of the MCU storylines further down the field towards the goal of Secret Wars.
I think the last couple MCU movies weren't in the main 616 universe but as they said in the Loki finale and as @emergencyawesome explain in the last video, they take place in an adjacent 616 universe, it's kinda similar to the 616 with a few differences. The theory i have is that the event of secret wars never took place, because nick already found a new planet for the skrulls in "The Marvels" movie.and the confirmed thing is that event of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania take place in A-616 not in the 616 universe as they said in the Loki finale. i'm sure they're more hints that all the latest MCU movies are not in the main 616 universe. I'll hunt for more 😁
It's absolutely the 616. Most MCU fans can't even handle a multiverse and you think they are just pull a crazy ass trick by telling us none of these movies were actually relevant? Really? You actually think that's a possibility? You thought that hard enough to type it? Before you looked up adjacent? That's crazy

It was great to see Kate again. Rather than pining for the past, I'm hoping Marvel will finally embrace the new characters it set up and start telling their stories. This film was a solid step in that direction.
I think this movie’s supposed to be set before secret invasion. Also, at the end, once the jump points have been closed, they say that all the damage caused by Dar-Benn has been restored, so the Skrull from the other planet can go back 🤷🏻♂️
12:20 remember The Marvels was supposed to release before Secret Invasion, so I think that is also canonically their intention that Secret Invasion happens after this. Awesome video!
Umm, during the flurkin scene, the song was actually Memory from the musical CATS, not Phantom of the Opera. I hope that clears up why that particular song was used😊
always looking forward to Charlie explaining his amazing marvel breakdowns as usual this movie was a lot of fun, got me enjoyed and i had fun with this, it doesn't deserve the hate at all, i think this was an awesome sequel
I just got to see the movie today and I thought it was pretty good. The hate that it is getting is totally unwarranted Loved the interaction of the 3 characters but the best part was the Flurkittens eating everyone while the announcement kept saying "stop running, let the flurkins eat you" and everyone is running away screaming. That was great. I do wonder though what happened with the unstable jump points that were opened? Did they go back and close those or did they just leave Aladna's ocean getting sucked out?
The quantum bands can only be worn by those worthy of them. If you carve the power or have a selfish heart they will destroy you. Quasar had a good heart and wanted to help others, thus he was able to wield their power.
I just came from watching the Marvels. It was a good movie. Fight scenes were dope. That mid credit scene was huge. I am ready for what they are bringing to the MCU neXt.
Loved the movie. The after credit was super cool but I was way more excited by the ending of the movie 😆. Kamala putting together a team. Wasn’t expecting that one
I finally got around to seeing this, and it was awesome. I really enjoyed it. There was some moments where I was like "oh yeah, the neckbeards would hate this" but I had a great time watching it! I laughed so much at the Flerkins.
I absolutely love the X-Men from Marvel (even though I'm now a massive green lantern fan) so much so, that I have a detailed fan theory as to how the X-Men could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe: keep First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2, New Mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline as there is a massive gap between 1963-1995 with the Dark Phoenix cast appearing in Deadpool 1&2, these films can happen after the events of Dark Phoenix and since Essex Corps is referenced in New Mutants, this could happen in the Dark Phoenix timeline after these events, Professor X uses Cerebro to convince the world that mutants don't exist and erase any new mutant activities from people's minds whenever one is witnessed. however the only person who knows is Nick Fury, who agrees with Professor X to keep tabs on any new mutant activity. this is also referenced in a deleted scene from Iron Man 1, when Nick mentions X-Men the X-Men can work in secret between 1992 up until Endgame. when Tony Stark snaps his fingers, the mind stone reverses the effects of Professor X's actions. resulting in the public now remembering who the X-Men are as for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Hydra's meddling with the mind stone prematurely reversed Professor X's actions, as it was mentioned that the mind stone unlocks dormant abilities already present in the brain my theory brings the Dark Phoenix X-Men cast into the MCU, thus eliminating the need to recast the entire X-Men team. the actors are young, they've expressed interest in returning and continuing their roles. it's an option for Marvel Studios to do that I've explained my theory to a lot of people, most of whom say it works. others say it won't work and demand i should forget everything about the Fox X-Men films and be happy with what Disney/Marvel Studios are going to do with the X-Men I will probably receive a lot of negative feedback about my theory, nothing is set in stone, if Marvel Studios can bring back JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson/the Sony Spider-cast, why won't they bring back the Dark Phoenix cast? there are multiple websites that support my theory, along with the Iron Man 1 deleted post credit scene. not only that, something similar happened in the comics (Robert Reynolds/Sentry and Gabriel Summers/Vulcan) since Days of Future Past rewrote the timeline, X-trilogy/Wolverine trilogy no longer take place as the ending to Dark Phoenix doesn't connect to the original trilogy, leaving it open for possible future sequels. as I mentioned, the Dark Phoenix cast could return and continue James McAvoy - Professor X Michael Fassbender - Magneto Tye Sheridan - Cyclops Nicholas Hoult - Beast Alexandra Shipp - Storm Kodi Smitt-Mcphee - Nightcrawler Sophie Turner - Jean Grey Josh Brolin - Cable Brianna Hildebrand - NTW Stefan Kapicic - Colossus Olivia Munn - Psylocke Peter Dinklage - Bolivar Trask Oscar Isaac - Apocalypse Rose Byrne - Moira McTaggart Anya Taylor-Joy - Magik as I've mentioned, in my X-Men MCU timeline, Mystique dies and Quicksilver dies after Avengers 2. the other X-Men characters I don't mind recasting, as long as they keep the cast I mention above aswell as try to follow my fan theory
I'm way late to the party, but this movie was very enjoyable and way better than I expected. Disney should have pushed more marketing dollars into this.

I nearly died laughing at that part then had to quickly explain it to my mom, uncle and cousins who were with me!😺😻😹
For a split second, Monica wore a phantom of the opera tshirt
I was about to comment about it being from Cats and not Phantom. It was a very fitting song for that crazy scene.
I was watching with my housemate and we were both laughing so hard we were crying 😂. And yes, the fact that it was Memory from Cats added such a funny level!
I was going to mention it. It's weird, Charlie usually doesn't make mistakes like this
For reference, his talking about this at this time 27:50
I can’t believe Kelsey Grammer came back for this film! It was awesome and I can’t wait to see more X-Men in the future.
Should see the whole original cast in Deadpool 3 from what I've heard.
Wasn’t Kelsey CGI’d?

My mouth dropped when I saw beast! I’m excited to see more OG X-men. Keep it coming MCU!
The fact you were so overwhelmed by a 2nd tier X-Men member should show how 💩 things have been till now in Phase 4
I squealed! I was not expecting that or that it was Kelsey grammer!!
@randyschwaggins alternatively, let people enjoy things. I enjoyed it too. It's bringing both the worlds together nicely.
@@randyschwagginscalling Beast second tier when he’s been part of the X-Men since the first issue of the franchise is hilarious
Would love to hear what Charlie knows about that so-called mythology the Kree have for how all this stuff was created!
just hearing John Ottman's original X-Men theme in the post credits scene was like OMG NO WAY -
like hearing this theme appear in the MCU was just insanity
It was in Multiverse of Madness also 👍
Did you not see Dr Strange? Bc this the 2nd time they did it
@@markeastlack4180that was the animated theme for both MOM and Ms Marvel
Scarlet Witch started out as a mutant and her power was to place hexes on things. It was later explained as changing the probability of things..
Shes gonna be a young avenger she probably will need the power.
Best part of the movie goose flerkens baby scene when they were eating the fury saber agent saving them it was hilarious 😂.
Love the Kate Bishop cameo
I loved the way Beast looked. I’m still hoping for a good outcome for this theatrical run. Thank you, Charlie!!

I haven’t liked many of the marvel movies since end game but I have watched every one opening night along with the tv shows. I was fully expecting this movie to be garbage but was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t perfect but I liked it.
The musical scene was so fun because of the characters’ reactions, but nothing beats the flerkin kitten apocalypse!
This video has been a great help in catching me up on everything I missed when I saw the movie . I loved the movie. Need to see it again after watching your video. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I was waiting for this. I like the movie. My family really enjoyed it.
😂😂
Tbh was not expecting the xmen preview! It was so dope seeing Beast again! Was actually expecting more fantastic four but i'll happily take xmen in the mcu!
When the flerkins were eating the people, “memories” from the broadway play “Cats” was playing 😂 it was too funny. About half of my theater laughed out loud
I thought Ronan's hammer broke when Drax shot it with Rocket's bomb gun thing.
@ChrisValera thought the same too
Emergency awesome was wrong. It’s not the same one.
The song they play during the Flerkin kitten scene is Memory from Cats - not Phantom of the Opera, thus is very fitting for the scene.
I hope Monica's actress returns, she deserved her own film.
How ?????? She is the worst
Monica and Maria/Binary would be nice to see in a movie together.
I agree. MONICA RAMBEAU is one of my favorite comic book characters, and now she is one of my favorite MCU characters. She is awesome.
And she's thicc as fuck
Soooo pumped for some old school x-men in the MCU!!
same!
why? do you want Disney to shit all over them too? No, thank you.
I sort of assumed Captain Marvel took the second bangle to give her the extra power needed to reignite the Hala sun. Even for Captain Marvel reigniting an entire sun all on her own is a bit OP.
well she's a woman so she has no flaws and can do anything so there's that lol
FYI I'm sure it has already been mentioned below but when the cats are out, the music they play is not from Phantom of the Opera but from the musical Cats.
Incursions all over the place in the MCU. Loved the character balance between all 3 heroes. Great job by Nia DaCosta in directing and these actresses have great chemistry. Iman Vellani steals the show.

They did beast the way they did Nick Fury for Captain Marvel. He looks good. Im curious to how the MCU looks moving forward

I enjoyed the movie but was disappointed by the low audience attendance we saw on a Saturday night.
cheers,
IR
It was the Barbra rendition of memory in the movie
To my ears it sounded like the Broadway soundtrack with Betty Buckley. Might have to go back and watch the movie again...:-)
the flurkins were a nod to Tribbles when they were being found in the equipment!
I know that there's a lot of hate for this movie, but I enjoyed it & loved the Kate Bishop, Beast & Binary cameos!
I absolutely loved this movie. It was so good. It's a shame that it probably won't do as well as other movies at the box office for various reasons because this one deserves success. Between The Marvels and Loki, I like the direction that the MCU is going.
Even though it doesn’t look amazing I’m so glad they CGIed Beast so he could actually have the physical dimensions of Beast in the comics rather than looking like a normal man in prosthetics
Beast has a Gorilla/Bear looking body
Kelsey Grammer as Beast looked great in X-Men 3 except he had just a human body but Nicholas Hoult as Beast looked really lame especially when he’s swinging from stuff and throwing people around
I hope when we see Nightcrawler they use CGI on his hands and feet rather than the actor having big fake looking prosthetics like in the Fox movies
Another thing is I live they gave us a classic Beast I was worried that when we saw Beast in the MCU they’d give us the horrible looking “Cat-Beast”
I thought the movie was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it. And Kamala Khan really made it delightful. I love this movie.
The movie was actually really good! The audience was laughing a lot in my theater, but it wasn’t overly silly. The end scene was so surprising for me! I was thrilled, especially that it’s the original actor.

I didn’t hate this movie. One thing I love is it started right off and was pretty action packed thought the movie. It was short and concise. Shortest movie ever. The ending FINALLY started putting everything together and of course everyone cheering seeing Beast.
The song playing while the flerkittens are eating the crew is Memory from the musical Cats. Pretty appropriate considering the circumstances. ;)
The dynamic was everything in this movie
I really hope Florence Pugh isnt stuck with just the Thunderbolts. Her and Kate Bishop had awesome and hilarious chemistry in the Hawkeye series they could of had their own show. Be a huge missed opportunity to not have the new Black Widow in the young avengers.

Secret Invasion is the only MCU Phases project I didn’t like… but it does have some cool stuff, and Sam Jackson is always Sam Jackson and that can’t be bad.
Can't lie, this was better than I expected. Hats off to the Marvels.

i think it was very cool how kamala didn't need the bangels at the end. shes to be fully into her mutant powers. i hope no one else gets them though. she needs to keep the quantum bands hidden though so doesnt get into wrong hands...or wrists
i think that's the reason Cpt Marvel took one, to keep them separate in case someone comes for them.
@@prefontaine2790 makes sense. Kamala has embraced her mutant powers. Maybe they’ll bring them back when someone else needs them or some evil may peruse it again

@prefontaine2790 that's strange because in ms marvel they seemed to say hers was brought with Kamala's ansestors from their home dimension
Carol is wearing the second bangle at the end of the movie. And it looks like Binary is wearing both of the bangles in the mid-credit scene.
I noticed that too and it was pretty obvious in the next scene surprised he didn’t notice it

I'm more than ready for some MCU X-Men action

Umm, during the flurkin scene, the song was actually Memory from the musical CATS, not Phantom of the Opera. I hope that clears up why that particular song was used😊
always looking forward to Charlie explaining his amazing marvel breakdowns as usual
this movie was a lot of fun, got me enjoyed and i had fun with this, it doesn't deserve the hate at all, i think this was an awesome sequel
I just got to see the movie today and I thought it was pretty good. The hate that it is getting is totally unwarranted
Loved the interaction of the 3 characters but the best part was the Flurkittens eating everyone while the announcement kept saying "stop running, let the flurkins eat you" and everyone is running away screaming. That was great.
I do wonder though what happened with the unstable jump points that were opened? Did they go back and close those or did they just leave Aladna's ocean getting sucked out?
i was expecting the ocean issue to be tied up in a stinger
The quantum bands can only be worn by those worthy of them. If you carve the power or have a selfish heart they will destroy you. Quasar had a good heart and wanted to help others, thus he was able to wield their power.
The song "Memory" comes from the Broadway play CATS, not the Phantom of The Opera. Thus, the flerkens scene and song together.
I absolutely love the X-Men from Marvel (even though I'm now a massive green lantern fan)
so much so, that I have a detailed fan theory as to how the X-Men could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
keep First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2, New Mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline as there is a massive gap between 1963-1995
with the Dark Phoenix cast appearing in Deadpool 1&2, these films can happen after the events of Dark Phoenix and since Essex Corps is referenced in New Mutants, this could happen in the Dark Phoenix timeline
after these events, Professor X uses Cerebro to convince the world that mutants don't exist and erase any new mutant activities from people's minds whenever one is witnessed. however the only person who knows is Nick Fury, who agrees with Professor X to keep tabs on any new mutant activity. this is also referenced in a deleted scene from Iron Man 1, when Nick mentions X-Men
the X-Men can work in secret between 1992 up until Endgame. when Tony Stark snaps his fingers, the mind stone reverses the effects of Professor X's actions. resulting in the public now remembering who the X-Men are
as for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Hydra's meddling with the mind stone prematurely reversed Professor X's actions, as it was mentioned that the mind stone unlocks dormant abilities already present in the brain
my theory brings the Dark Phoenix X-Men cast into the MCU, thus eliminating the need to recast the entire X-Men team. the actors are young, they've expressed interest in returning and continuing their roles. it's an option for Marvel Studios to do that
I've explained my theory to a lot of people, most of whom say it works. others say it won't work and demand i should forget everything about the Fox X-Men films and be happy with what Disney/Marvel Studios are going to do with the X-Men
I will probably receive a lot of negative feedback about my theory, nothing is set in stone, if Marvel Studios can bring back JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson/the Sony Spider-cast, why won't they bring back the Dark Phoenix cast?
there are multiple websites that support my theory, along with the Iron Man 1 deleted post credit scene. not only that, something similar happened in the comics (Robert Reynolds/Sentry and Gabriel Summers/Vulcan)
since Days of Future Past rewrote the timeline, X-trilogy/Wolverine trilogy no longer take place as the ending to Dark Phoenix doesn't connect to the original trilogy, leaving it open for possible future sequels. as I mentioned, the Dark Phoenix cast could return and continue
James McAvoy - Professor X
Michael Fassbender - Magneto
Tye Sheridan - Cyclops
Nicholas Hoult - Beast
Alexandra Shipp - Storm
Kodi Smitt-Mcphee - Nightcrawler
Sophie Turner - Jean Grey
Josh Brolin - Cable
Brianna Hildebrand - NTW
Stefan Kapicic - Colossus
Olivia Munn - Psylocke
Peter Dinklage - Bolivar Trask
Oscar Isaac - Apocalypse
Rose Byrne - Moira McTaggart
Anya Taylor-Joy - Magik
as I've mentioned, in my X-Men MCU timeline, Mystique dies and Quicksilver dies after Avengers 2. the other X-Men characters I don't mind recasting, as long as they keep the cast I mention above aswell as try to follow my fan theory
I'm way late to the party, but this movie was very enjoyable and way better than I expected. Disney should have pushed more marketing dollars into this.
