@Lord Fedme - regular Chaos Knights don’t do fire damage, but you’re totally right about the Swords of Chaos! The poor bastards can barely scratch Dragon Princes.
This was a fantastic battle. Plenty of awesome things went down (the massive net at the start, the dragon princes actually performing fantastically for once, the Sisters being allowed to continue shooting throughout the battle), but the true mvps were those spearmen, especially the Scions. True patriots of the High Elves.
No, Xavi is wrong. The resistances do stack but only up to a maximum of 90%. So in this case the Dragon Princes resisted 90% of the Swords' damage because 70% (fire res) + 25% (phys res) = 95% which gets reduced to the maximum of 90%.
Ellesthyan no, everything wrong. Every resistance reduces the total damage by a percentage based amount. So we have e.g. 1000 non-magical fire damage with 70% fire resistance and 25% physical resistance. The fire resistance reduces the damage by 70% to a total of 300. The physical resistance reduces that damage by 25% to a total resulting damage of 225. (So in that case it would equal 77,5% ward save but I don't like using this term cause ward save is something else, "resistance vs all".) This operation is commutative so it doesn't matter which resistance you calculate first. You are right though that damage reduction has an upper bound of 90% so you can't get e.g. 100% physical resistance by casting regrowth at the green knight.
The lore behind the swords of chaos is so underrated. They were archaons first warriors and acted as undying ever loyal guardians to him originally there were only 5 and they had wings
And they got their asses kicked by da Immortulz!! :D Plus they are not five, they started as 5 but their numbers grew as more and more chaos champions gathered around Archaon to the point where there was hundreds of them.
@Turin you are forgetting with the physical resistance the Dragon Princes have fire resistance too so they mitigate like 50% of that chaos knight unit. Normal CK are better to use against HE. The fire variant is meant to use against armies who have fire weakness.
Damm did you notice that your Dragon princes didn't lose any models while being below half HP? Shame you didn't had Regrowth would pretty much heal them to full force without losing models, nice match!.
@@cheshstyles To be fair, the life of your average dark elf pretty much sucks. You live in a gods-forsaken place freezing your ass off, backstabbing is basically a way to say hello, you have charming cultural events such as "free-murder tuesday", and sure, invading Ulthuan or looting Lustria sounds fun, but most of the time, you're just stuck fighting chaos tribes and beastmen forever. And that's not even taking into account funny quirks like "oh, you're displaying magical potential and you're male? How unfortunate. For you." All in all, I'd agree that if I was to be a standard citizen, high elf seems like a pretty good deal. Ulthuan is pretty much the best place to live - sure, the bi-millenial dark elf invasion sucks hard, and sometimes you have a random army crashing on your shores by accident, but compared to what the other factions have to live through, it's heaven. Only downside is surviving your time as a conscript- as we saw in this video, high elf spearman is a very unrewarding job.
Gotta say, I'm surprised that the doom cannon isn't used more frequently in match ups against high elves. Elf walls are generally such a pain to get through, and generally they don't bring bolt throwers, considering they want to invest more in the sisters. The doom cannon can really help deal with the high elves martial prowess, and if there's any concern about dragons, you can bring Kholec and he'll do a pretty good job at detering dragons, or maybe a unit or two of maurader horsemen with axes. Not to mention, with the amount of splash damage Kholec does with his melee and bombardment ability, he's generally pretty solid at knocking that martial prowess fairly efficiently.
At least a patch or two ago, a dragon could kill a doom cannon artillery piece with a single breath. It was really simple to just fly over in the first minute or two and nullify the doom cannon.
CN Oh I get that, I just don't see bolt throwers used nearly as frequently now that the sisters are out. The only reason why you'd get a bolt thrower against chaos, for the most part, is to counter the hellcannon or to use it against heavy cavalry. Hellcannons are safe as long as bolt throwers are being replaced with something else.
I'd recommend moon or star dragon for this use. Their breath attacks have a lot more AP dmg whereas sun is mostly for low to medium armor large unit size units.
@Turin Swords of Chaos generally suck vs cav units because of their low model count. DPs may not have great stats but having about 4x the amount of actual soldiers available really does make a mathematical difference especially with their huge charge bonus.
It would be cool if all tree-based of Wood elf have a free single charge of Regrowth named "Tree form" and give "Entangled" debuff to all enemy unit & self
Can you please describe what you think Chaos could have done? I feel like chaos had no chance in this match up and it was painful to watch. Is there even efficient counter to sisters?
Also, Swords of Chaos get hard-countered by Dragon Princes, so they’re a dangerous choice against High Elves. I’d guess that Dragon Ogres would probably do better.
In single player I have been mixing sisters with shadow walkers, debuff from shadow walkers and AP from sisters works well. How does it work in multiplayer?
I’ve been giving it some thought, and something doesn’t make sense. Swords of Chaos have high AP values, with swords. But neither Archaon, nor Tyrion gets high AP percentage-wise, despite having fabled swords and legendary strength/prowess. Neither do the Fireborn, despite the fact that they too have flaming weapons, and function as elite bodyguards to their liege, Prince Imrik. If the SoC get AP because their flaming swords ‘’melt” armor, why not Tyrion and Fireborn? If it’s because of the blessing of the Chaos Gods, why not Archaon? Something’s fishy here.
question: you say in the beginning of the match, the sun dragon's good against single unit...not being a single character...but it takes half the HP of a chosen unit...does it mean than that it kills models of the unit, and by that way reduces the chosen ones?
Why in the world would you risk bringing Chosen in a fight where the enemy potentially can just missle the hell out of it, or just burn it with a dragon?
I've been using sarothreal in this match up, totally stops the sisters with his missile and Magic resist, which it seems like a lot of players don't realise he has for some reason.
Wait why would you call that one high elf lord Benedict Cumberbatch? He played Smaug/Sauron. You should call him Lee Pace, since he played Thranduil aka Legolas father. Lol even Hugo Weaving played an elf (Elrond), but you decided to call the elf lord the one dude who plays a dragon lol.
I NOW recall the Fire Res on the princes! THANKS!
Turin and ironbreakers/drakes
Yeah that fire resist is very strong..... when it actually gets to be used.
Sitting here at full mast. Seeing Fire Res *actually useful* can’t get any harder.
Yeah, I was going to say, the 70% fire resistance probably makes a difference! 😁
Yeah, I was going to say, the 70% fire resistance probably makes a difference! 😁
- Hey Teclis, gimmie your lunch money!
- Sure Warlord Chad. But first, have you met.....MY SISTER!?
hahaha
6:45 The Dragon Princes have massive fire resistance. The Swords of Chaos and - I think - all Chaos Knights, do fire damage.
Don't think so, just regular damage I believe. Making it so that the chaos knights would've been better off without the RoR.
@Lord Fedme - regular Chaos Knights don’t do fire damage, but you’re totally right about the Swords of Chaos! The poor bastards can barely scratch Dragon Princes.
Dragon princes are pretty much customized to kill Swords of Chaos
Dragon Princes are a terrible match for Swords of Chaos since SoC deal flaming damage and Dragon Princes have 70% Fire resistance
This wasn’t the kind of “teclis and sisters” action I came for
CalasTyphon you’re not wrong. Teclis secretly is a Chad, with many HElf Stacies
CalasTyphon You still came. Why are you complaining?
Prince Teclis I didn’t cum :c

Oh wow..... the dragon pricea are really good against the swords of chaod. They have 70% fire ressist + phisical res 25%... 95% ward save.....
not really, only the highest res applies so in this case its just 70% wich is not bad
Wait what can i get a second opinion on Xavi's comment? If it's true, does that only apply to resist, or Ward saves as well?
No, Xavi is wrong. The resistances do stack but only up to a maximum of 90%. So in this case the Dragon Princes resisted 90% of the Swords' damage because 70% (fire res) + 25% (phys res) = 95% which gets reduced to the maximum of 90%.

So how do you figure that's the case? I've found CA itself as a source: forums.totalwar.com/discussion/173685/ward-saves-in-tw-w-do-they-stack
Watching those Dragon Princes mitigating damage like a Chad, then a single Bjuna comes in and instantly knocks 2/3 of their HP off
Feelsbadman
Darko Mihajlovski You’re not wrong. And even still, it leaves a hole in my heart seeing that gross damage.

Dragon Princes have huge Fire resistence Thats why they beat those swords of Chaos so hard
You are the only TWW youtuber who starts every battle with "let's have some fun"! Its so refreshing luv u
Damm did you notice that your Dragon princes didn't lose any models while being below half HP? Shame you didn't had Regrowth would pretty much heal them to full force without losing models, nice match!.
4:21 and 10:42! The best Turin quote twice in one fight! Woohoo!!
He should have left the chosen in reserve, till the backline was tied up;
Against them, even the Scions of Mathlann wouldn t have heldt long enough
Teclis and Nobles charging in the beginning with that sweet backdrop. So good!
HE vs Chaos always makes for an entertaining fight.
Thanks for uploading dude!
The Swords of Chaos do Fire damage, so they were entirely wasted on those Dragon Princes who have insane fire resistance.
Turin if you could be a citizen of any faction in warhammer witch one would it be?
Dawi probably - safe in halls, sturdy, badass, etc!
Turin oh no I strongly dislike dawi lol I would be probably be a high elf
@@TheElementalSage dwarfs rule, elves drool!
@@turinRTS you didn't consider the tiny square penis tho.
I would go dark elf, for sexual reasons

4:20 underrated joke
Nearly spit up my cereal when you made that, "That's what she said" joke, thanks Turin
recently been going crazy with your vids, love the commentary :) Keep up the nice work. Maybe some Dawi vs the best faction, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!?
Dragon Princes have like 70% fire resistance.
The dragon princes beated the sword of Chaos because they have 70% fireresist while Chaos does fore damage
I'd recommend moon or star dragon for this use. Their breath attacks have a lot more AP dmg whereas sun is mostly for low to medium armor large unit size units.
He just stacked his front line on top of each other smh
Sisters of Avelorn really seem very very good.
This was a truly epic match!
love the commentary yet again LOL-ing
Ty my dude!
"there down to 69 thats what she said" i love how this was dropped at exactly 4:20
*they're
Benedict Cumberbach!? I see you're a Monsters Abound fan too. You deserve a suscriber for class.
Dragon Princes will smash those RoR knights because they do fire damage and the Princes have a fire resist.

Weird, TH-cam recommended this even though I've already seen it (definitely while I was logged in). Not that I mind, this was some top shelf HE play.
Your titles always give away who wins
I believe the dragon princes have a large flame resistance. I think it's 70% but im not sure
Dragon Princes have Fire resistance(70%) and Swords of Chaos do Fire Damage. That's why Dragon Princes win.
The swords of chaos have a tiny unit number that's why they got wrecked
What if you were to drop a noble for some shadow warriors or more sisters?
Can you please describe what you think Chaos could have done? I feel like chaos had no chance in this match up and it was painful to watch. Is there even efficient counter to sisters?
Wider, maurauders, etc!
Thank ya!

How do you get the unit card to stay open while in battle? It did that automatically in WH1, but I can't figure it out in WH2
Well played Sir
Sheesh, sisters or arvalone are so op. Good range, AP, good at melee. What more could you ask for?
I think it goes without saying that every future TW game should have dragons
Is the title/loading screen supposed to be greyed out like that? it is on mine, but just wondering, very different look from the previous edition
Great video as always. Norsca guide when?
Why in the world would you risk bringing Chosen in a fight where the enemy potentially can just missle the hell out of it, or just burn it with a dragon?
Playing as elves is always a grudge, goes without saying
you missed a perfect Dawi pun there my man. Which is a shame considering your profile name :D!
Hey Turin please use Swords of Chaos in one of your upcoming games. Would love to see them used.
My new fav Turin joke @ 4:20
Blaze it.
Could we get some of those “Wookie gurgling sounds” as a units sound effect?
Sir you sound like the lighthouse dude in purge parody of Rick and Morty 😂
Peace sir!!!
such a shame multiplayer is dead tbh, CA really needs to actually put some more thought into it since its so damn fun to play RTS pvp
Why is it called the Walmart Dragon?
I've been using sarothreal in this match up, totally stops the sisters with his missile and Magic resist, which it seems like a lot of players don't realise he has for some reason.
Does anyone understand how the if mana above 50% works? Is that reserve mana or current?
No we love Wookiee we need more
please post more videos where you win with chaos 🧐
Oh my god they reduced the stats on sword of chaos HARD
Its more due to 70% fire ressistance on Dragon Princes.
Shame ypu didn't have the firebox for that RoR chaos cav

Benedict Cumberbatch xDD
swords of chaos do fire damage, correct? Guess who has 70% fire resistance. One sided indeed.
Kawhi leaving San Antonio is a travesty. Just saying.
lol a Walmart Breath
Can you post some videos where you lose but tried your best?
1 more cavalry and chaos win, and stupid feed chosens
of chaos
Laser-Arrows O.o
Lol you keep calling the sisters guys
Its probably been said but you say Amyntock wrong, Im sorry, I couldn't help it :D
Well you spell Net of Amyntok wrong, which is a far greater offence.
I think they have a lot of balancing to still do after this big update.
Turin the dragon princes have fire resistance like 85% I think so they are a hard counter to swords of chaos
walmart breath
Chaos kinda sucks and the highelves arw op😂
This player is really not skill. Soo why you even upload it?
