The line of succession is a matter not taken lightly. It is therefore expected that those in line to the throne, stand a good public eye.
Queen Elizabeth the Second has died, and with Charles as our new king - the future is looking bright given the nature of our future kings of Britain.
The monarchy has evolved, and has undergone a huge deal of change over the last 1000 years. The line of succession is one that is looking sharp, but is also one that is bound to change.
The examples of the previous monarchs continue to build strong relationships for the generations of monarchs to come.

👩‍💻Maybe Princess Elizabeth did not realize that when she was born, she was 3rd in line to the English throne. The Duke and Duchess of York depended on (David) to do his job and have some legitimate children by a legitimate wife. Queen Elizabeth II had been in the line of succession from the second she was born, albeit through another line.

Prince William is loved globally. I’m saving money my family and I for his coronation. We’re taking about 15 of us to go to London to see William coronation. We have been waiting for Prince William to take the throne for years. We love him, adore him and my grandmother is she is very much in destiny. She does cards and she said Prince William is a true leader and he is going to bring so much light And for the better traditions that they had for thousands of years and he’s just gonna be a real leader. The UK is so fortunate to have Prince William. He was born under a solar eclipse and he truly is special. God bless him and I can’t wait for him to become king.❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thankyou for a truly magnificent documentary. I was aware of most details but it was great to learn more about the wonderful History of the British Royal Family. I cant imagine how special it must be to actually be aware of ones Family History, of generations of it. Knowing that young Prince George, Princess Catherine + Prince Louis have their family history documented in photos, films, archives is indeed a rare commodity.
My one Criticism of this documentary is the number of times, the speakers/hosts, incorrectly named the current Princess of Wales. Prince William married a young lady named CATHERINE Middleton, NOT Kate. Then once she was martied, she should have always been respected by the media calking her by her proper name (the name her parents chose for her, the name ger family have always used for her, the name William calls her - Catherine. At marriage, she stopped being "Middleton" and became Duchess Catherine or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Now, she is the Princess of Wales and deserves to be called PRINCESS CATHERINE. Afterall, when (Lady) Diana Spencer married Charles, she ceased being Diana Spencer and became Princess Diana and at times, Diana, Princess of Wales.
When Prince William becomes King, his eife Princess Catherine will be his Queen Consort and will be called QUEEN CATHERINE. Surely the media wont call her Queen Kate or Queen Kate Middleton.
Aside from the error of name, I aporeciated this film.

You are incorrect. She is not born a Princess so her name can never be Princess Catherine. Never. She was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge or Princess William, Duchess of Cambridge. Now she is Catherine, Princess of Wales or Princess William of Wales.

    Correction:
At 13:36 Charles did *not* "reignite the flame with his long-time friend after Diana's death".
He never had ceased seeing CPB, even after both she and he had married other people. Historically, at the wedding alter, he spoke a lie and never skipped a beat.
As for the Queen's wishes, at 13:57, QE2 did not have whatever it took to do what should have been done, which is to declare that the crown should skip over him if he did not give up CPB, the way her Uncle had been made to do with WS.
After all, quite contrary to rules for succession, Charles married a divorced non-virgin whose ex-husband was still alive, a woman with whom he had a long affair before marriage and after.

As others have no doubt noted, Elizabeth II would have eventually been Queen regardless, because Edward VIII -- even "if" he had been allowed to retain the monarchy with a morganatic marriage with 2x divorcee Wallis Simpson -- would have NEVER had issue in the line of succession. Thus, upon his death, "Princess" Elizabeth would have ascended to the throne. BUT that tipping point in history -- when Edward VIII abdicated and his younger brother George VI [Elizabeth's father] became king begets MULTIPLE fascinating "what if" questions ...
    1. Would WW II have ended as it did?
Remember, Edward VIII was very pro-German, and he was a vain, spoiled, reckless, "entitled" individual who loved all the beneficial "goodies" and "privileges" of royal life, BUT he HATED the OBLIGATIONS and DUTIES of Kingship. He had very little regard for his vital role as leader of the British people and Empire-Commonwealth. As such ...
    a) Would Hitler's "charm offensive" "wining and dining" and flattering Edward & Wallis have succeeded in wrangling continuous "concessions" and "accommodations" for Nazi Germany such that Hitler might never have needed to bother "attacking" Poland to start WW II in the first place?
    b) Even "if" WW II had started, would a decidedly pro-German King Edward VIII on the throne instead have been the "tipping point difference" over British public opinion and Parliament such that Britain would have made a quick negotiated peace with Nazi Germany in May 1940 when France and Belgium collapsed and surrendered? Don't forget that Parliament was deeply divided, that numerous respected statesmen in the highest government positions openly advocated making peace with Hitler, and that it was ONLY Churchill's steely resolve -- eventually backed by King George VI -- that carried Britain through the war in those dark early days when she STOOD ALONE against Hitler.
    2. And if WW II (at least in Europe) had ended differently, what else about the world would have played out differently?
    a) Would the "British Empire" have vanished so quickly -- or at least might it have lasted longer if there were NO world-wide spreading of democracy thanks to the massive influence of a victorious U.S. (which wouldn't have ever been involved in a "WW II in Europe" and thus the peoples of Europe and the British Empire MIGHT not have yearned for delf-determination as much or as immediately following WW II)?
    b) Thus would Great Britain remained more of a military power as well?
    c) Would the U.S. -- left to deal solely with Japan in the Pacific following Pearl Harbor -- have become the free world's pre-eminent "superpower?"
    d) Would the U.S. and the Soviet Union -- devoid of all the German rocket scientists they claimed after Nazi Germany's collapse -- have perfected ballistic missile technology or had a "space race" -- or if so anyway, might it have come much later in time?
    e) Given the question immediately above, would the U.S. have landed on the moon as early as 1969?
    3. If Edward VIII remained on the British throne at least until 1972 (I'm reasonably sure he still received the best medical care available in the world despite being "only" the Duke of Windsor and no longer king ... such that he probably wouldn't have lived longer as king, and MIGHT have even passed away sooner as did his younger brother [both were HEAVY smokers]), would Elizabeth II possess the cache to reign effectively as Queen? Consider these points:
    a) She would NOT have been as widely beloved entering her reign in her mid to late 40s or early 50s as she was as a young woman entering her reign upon tragic circumstances
    b) "Princess" Elizabeth was GREATLY ADMIRED and RESPECTED among the British People upon entering her reign because of:
    (1) her parents' refusal to evacuate Britain and their stalwart example of courage, leadership, and empathy throughout WW II -- often seen in their "walkabouts" comforting the victims of London blitz bombings and V2 rocket attacks;
    (2) her PERSONAL CHOICE to join the British Army and contribute to the war effort as a vehicle mechanic -- not the least bit reluctant as a "royal" to get dirty or greasy along with "commoners" in service; and
    (3) her incredible sense of SELFLESS DUTY and her heart rending radio address PLEDGE to the British People upon her father's death to spend the remainder of her life -- no matter how short or long -- SERVING THEM.
Without her "Uncle David's" [i.e., Edward VIII's] abdication and without a lengthy "WW II in Europe," would Elizabeth have had the opportunity to build that good will as a young woman? And "Princess Elizabeth" would STILL have NOT had the opportunity to have been properly prepared/educated to assume the monarchy. Indeed, she might have merely succeeded to the throne as a middle-aged spouse of a career naval officer.
    4. Would the modern world have been so radically different in 1972 -- and would Edward VIII's reign have been so detached from the British People and so self-indulgent -- such that the British People in 1972 might have been completely INDIFFERENT to the continuation of the monarchy after the death of childless Edward VIII rather than install a 40/50-something career naval officer's wife as "Queen?"
    5. OR, even IF the British People in 1972 STILL wanted a monarch and allowed Queen Elizabeth II to ascend the throne, might they have rebelled against the institution of the monarchy when everything started unraveling in the early 1990s with all the Charles/Camilla and Diana nonsense? Having NOT had the benefit of building up her personal good will and demonstrated devotion to duty over the course of many previous decades as Queen from the time of her youth (i.e., it would have only been possible since 1972 when Edward VIII died), would Elizabeth II's reign have had the strength and cache to survive all the scandals?
Many interesting Qs to ponder ...
