I have tremendous sympathy for the police officers trying to defend the capitol that day. After watching so many videos of that day, whoever still decides to vote for trump has no regards to united states constitution.

The former president has a strange sense of how a patriot carries themself. I believed I was a patriot when I raised my right hand and swore an oath to the constitution. While defending that document, I was sent to a place that was not my home. I do not need a pardon for my actions. The blurred line with this situation is, his followers felt as if he was giving them orders like a president gives to the United States Military.

You know, I don’t feel sorry for the first guy (from Montana) you interviewed. He complains about how hard life is financially and how he blames “the government” for his sorry situation. He grew up in a country where got a free education through 12 grades and if he’d planned and cared enough, could have easily gotten a college education, as well. That would have assured him a decent, predictable income for life. Instead, he chose a different path. No ones to blame for those choices. Education in this country has been proven time and again to provide the best way out of poverty.
I grew up in Montana in a house with no inside plumbing, miles from town. Did “chores” after school, after riding the school bus home daily. No sports, no dates, no “hanging out”. But, it sure solidified my commitment to “go to college” and get out of that way of life. Worked wonders. Retired now, comfortable, with a monthly pension and no bills.

I watched like so many the horror of the rioters on January 6th. Two things came to my mind: 1) We are the USA who is going to come help us? Canada? Mexico? We are on our own. The US is the country that helps everyone else. 2) I truly thought that the punishment for sedition was hanging. I am not a violent person but what I saw made my blood boil. Get out and vote.
