What a beautiful vlog! I have learnt five things:
1. My marriage should be sheltered in prayer.
2. I should feed my marriage for it to grow.
3. I should never let the "love spark" die out.
4. I should constantly look to the living water that is Jesus Christ to help my marriage thrive and survive.
5. My marriage should be that of "iron sharpening iron"

Coming from a family of 6 siblings, I think it would have been so wonderful to have felt special, individually, than thought of as groups, the four older ones were called 'the big kids' [me included], and the three younger were usually referred to as 'the babies', no matter what our age.

I've been with my husband 24 years, 17 married.
It's hard work with ups and downs, it's not a romance novel at the end of the day, it's about shared values, some shared interests, a sense of humour and most importantly compromise.
We don't fight as such but we bicker over the small things as most couples do........we get over it eventually........as you do.
A soild foundation is a must ........ and friendship........along with joint and separate hobbies and friends.
And most of all respect........

About a decade ago, our children had several friends with parents getting a divorce. We tried what we could to reassure our children that Daddy and Mommy would not divorce. It was not an option for us. It was a commitment we made, before we got married. Our 12 year old (at that time) was really struggling. And then the Spirit of God, gave her reassurance. She said, so you mean you are like Pappaw and Nanny (her grandparents) who are still married. Yes! Just like Pappaw & Nanny! Pappaw & Nanny celebrated anniversary number 63 this year! What a great testimony.
I'm so touched when Forest said, ""Spending time with you." ❤️ I also love how the younger boys sat quietly while daddy and big brother talked about camping gears. It shows good discipline. 👍

your oldest is already 11 years old?! Where has the time gone? I remember when ours were in diapers and people would say, "enjoy your kids while they're young. They'll be grown up and out of the house before you know it!" I had the first four in under fives years, so I thought, at that time, it can't happen fast enough! haha. I love our kids. A LOT! Now they will range in age from 24-34 by this October. Can hardly believe it! Each phase of life has it's own struggles, surprises and delights, so I'm going to say the same thing those people used to tell me. Enjoy your kids, and enjoy each other, as a couple. Thirty-five years for us this year! Time just flies :) Thanks for the great video!

This was really good, making analogies of how camping gear helps survival and comfort, and the corresponding “tools” of maintaining a good, thriving marriage.
God bless your backpacking trip. My family did a lot of camping and backpacking when my children were in their pre-teen and young teen years. There is nothing like it.

My husband and I eloped when we were 18 years old . We loved each other but didn’t really know what it takes to build a successful marriage . During those years we both came to know the Lord . That made an enormous difference in our marriage and eventually my husband would serve the Lord full time in our church . We were blessed with 6 children , 29 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and counting . My husband passed away in Dec . Of 2019 after 66 years of marriage. I’m now 85 and live with one of my daughters because of many health problems. My grown children all bless me with their love and kindness . Looking back I’m so glad that we came to know Jesus. This couple have so much to teach the young married people of today . If you want to have a blessed marriage you can learn so much from their Vlog .

Well it will be 34 years this year for my husband and myself and while most of the time we have thrived in our marriage but there have been moments where we have just survived because the love was always there but not always putting the other one first. They were just moments in time, everyone has them on occasion and that's when you do some self soul searching and praying and it always comes back around. Usually when you get busy with children and it just seems there isn't time for just the two of you!

Yes, I would love to hear about your dangerous and exciting adventures in the forest with your son, Forrest! You pack more than me, I think! But is there practical things included like a can opener, trash bags, or toilet paper? Before setting up our tent, it helped also to spray ant spray on the ground under it. Someone said bears will go into a tent with food, and to store food in a tree away from the camp and down wind...something like that. Hope this helps. Have fun!
