Issaqueena Falls - Best Waterfalls in South Carolina - Stumphouse Mountain Park -

Issaqueena Falls is a beautiful 200 ft waterfall near Walhalla SC. It is located Stumphouse Mountain Park and it is one of the best waterfalls in South Carolina. It is a short easy walking trail to the wooden observation platform overlooking Isaqueena Falls. If you want to get closer to the falls you have a short but steep, slippery and technical trail to get to the bottom. If you plan to go to the bottom be sure to have sturdy footwear with good tread.
According to legend, a creek maiden named Issaqueena was captured by the Cherokee and given the name Cateechee. She fell in love with Allan Francis and warned him of a Cherokee attack. She married Allan Francis and moved to Stumphouse Mountain. Cherokee warriors were sent to capture Issaqueena so she ran to the waterfall to escape. She pretended to leap to her death but actually hid on a legend below to top of the falls until it was safe to return to her family.
As of September 2020 Stumphouse Park Entrance Fee is $5 per vehicle. Stumphouse Mountain Park includes Stumphouse Tunnel so be sure to check it out when visiting Isaqueena Falls.

I visited here last year and walked inside the Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls was gorgeous! I didn’t go to Yellow Branch Falls so I need to visit sometime. But anyways, beautiful falls!
