It's tough loving some people Jordan they'll put you through hell and back. But the important thing is that if we want a good life it's there for us. We just have to be open to it. It's what we make of it. "Never sit on the side of the road stuck in your own problems. Fix that car and keep driving towards what life gives you next." "Never stop living you life"

Never have I clicked so fast as I did today. As a huge heart classic country fan Waylon Jennings is one of my top 5 favorites singers of all times. Waylon and Jessi music is awesome.BTW Waymore's Blues is a great and A Long Time Ago he says "Don't ask me who I give my seat to on that plane, I think you already know ". He was just an awesome singer and songwriter. RIP Waylon

Here's a little trivia, Waylon asked Stevie Nicks to write a song for him and Jesse to sing. She did a demo with Don Henley of "Leather and lace ". Waylon and Jesse broke up and Stevie used the demo on her solo album "Bella Donna". Excellent vlog Jordan!

Hi Jordan, what a neat little Museum, I thought that was a beautiful painting of him and there were some lovely photos aswell. I liked the boot prints at the end. Such a shame about some of these little towns that are in such disrepair. Great vlog Jordan.

THANK YOU for this!! Absolutely love Waylon!! Discovered him in the 70's. I also like him more than Willie or Johnny. For anyone who's mostly into rock like me, just take a listen. He'll grow on you. Great song of his with a catchy beat... Are you sure Hank done it this way.

So cool!!! Love that you decided to do a Waylon Jennings vlog!!! My dad was actually Waylon’s rhythm guitar player from the mid 60s-early 70s. His name is Billy Ray Reynolds. He wrote and co-wrote many of Waylon’s early hits during that era. My dad wrote songs like “It’s High Times”(you quit your low-down ways) and many more. Over the years my dad has been one of the top songwriters in the Nashville music machine. He was awarded BMI’s Songwriter of the Year several different times from the 70s-modern day. Many other artists and performers have cut my dad’s songs over the years like Johnny Cash, Tanya Tucker, Merl Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Dolly Parton, and many many others.
The story about Waylon giving his seat to Buddy Holly is one most don’t know about. They actually flipped a coin for the seat but Waylon lost and sarcastically told him “I hope your plane crashes”. He told my dad that he felt so bad and blamed himself for years after that.
My dad was a big part of the “Outlaw Country” movement that took many great country artists out of the Nashville Pop-Country machine and took real country music back to Austin, TX!!! You should check my dad out-he has a TH-cam page.

Wow! This was really the icing on the cake for me. I've got to admit that I've never been much of a country music fan. But with Waylon it's different. The voice, the words, the music - it's all just about perfect! He said it best - "ladies love outlaws like babies love stray dogs
. Ladies touch babies like a banker touches gold
, and outlaws touch the ladies somewhere deep down in their soul."

What a heavy cross to bear for Waylon after what he said about Buddy's plane before it flew away. I also thought that Waylon's first guitar reminded me of the one they had with Buddy Holly's stuff. I'm glad you stayed in Texas a little longer. Make time to follow your heart when you travel because you'll see some spectacular things.

Great vlog, Jordan. Waylon has a connection with my hometown in Coolidge, AZ. He used to play at a bar called The Galloping Goose and he also DJ'd at our radio station. He said Loretta Lynn and her husband left a record of her first hit while they were driving all over to promote it. I believe he had a home in Chandler, AZ and was buried in Mesa when he passed away. Always loved Waylon's music. Thanks for going to his hometown and museum!

Hi Jordan - I visited the museum 10 years ago - Waylon’s sister in law was working that day. I saw a garment bag on a table and asked what was in it - she didn’t know. She opened it and it was the black coat with the multi color arrows on it - I got to try it on (she told me not to tell 🥰) and Lo and behold it was actually Johnny Cash’s coat made by Manuel. She had no idea why Waylon had it. It’s a great little museum!

My brother and I were at Willies 1985 picnic in Austin. I was a 17 year old, but was a huge fan of The Highwaymen, especially Waylon and Willy. That was the only time I saw Waylon and Johnny….Kris and Willy are still with us, but I’m so glad I got to see them all together that day. Waylon gave his plane seat on Buddy’s plane that night to the Big Bopper who was feeling ill, and Waylon didn’t want him to get worse riding on the bus which was cold. One of my favorite true Waylon stories, since you’re a fan, is that Waylon actually played at CBGB’s back in its heyday of Punk music. Waylon said that he was mad as hell that he had been booked there once he got onstage and saw the crowd, who were initially less than pleasant to him. Waylon, being Waylon, told the crowd that he’s going to play his music, and that he’d whip anyones ass there who had a problem with it. The crowd left as Waylon fans. The first two letters of that club (‘C’ and ‘B’) actually stood for Country and Bluegrass, so maybe that confused Waylon’s booking manager(?).

Waylon & Willie and few others at that time Changed the old country music sound which needed some changes bought me around for country music. Just be careful on those two lane highways for people driving in your lane head on specially on this weekend. Thanks for your appreciation for the Texas music scene....D.P.S. Out in full force..

This is certainly on my bucket list. Waylon was the man, from his incredible songwriting, remarkable guitar playing, and his rich voice he ruled music. If you wanna listen to his best stuff look up his live stuff from 75' to 79' lot of his full live shows here on YT. And he was a very underrated guitar player. His hybrid chicken pickin' style is something I've been trying to get down. Goin on 5 years trying to master it and yea definitely cant go wrong with Ol' Waylon

Waylon is my dude man. One of my biggest music influences by far.
That leather case he had on his Tele throughout his entire career was made for him in PHX back in the 60s by someone who would come to his shows in what was then “Wild Bills” on Scottsdale and Shea. Now the famous Handlebar J’s , in which Jessie still makes appearances due to the owners being very old friends of hers.
Funny, every older musician I played with when I started out here in AZ 20 years ago had a Waylon story. Not so much anymore as they’ve mostly died off.
Another great video my friend. You’ve got great taste in film and music. We must be about the same age haha

My favorite song he sung is ," Luckenbach Texas ", but he said he never liked that song and my favorite song Waylon & Jessie did together is , " Come with me " . I had that record and it was on a cassette tape too and I wore them out playing that song so much . lol !! Waylon said , he loved Elvis , but he knew he wouldn't be able to play in his band , so he started playing with Buddy Holly and The Crickets . He was wild for awhile there , but boy ....he could sing . You know I remember when he had diabetes , but I didnt know he lost his leg because of it . I just heard about that the other day . What made Waylon so special to me was while he was a star yet he never acted like one and was very approachable, at least that is what I heard. Same holds true with Willie and Cash and that is why no matter how much times goes by their stars will always shine brightly, all are truly one of a kinds and are all equally great in my humble opinion!
