- 🔥 Is the Workhorse Pits 1975 Smoker the best offset smoker for the money? Is it better than other smokers like the Millscale 94 or Patriot Pits? 🤔 Is the new add-on counterweight for the $250 price tag worth it? Find out in my review where I'll share my honest opinion and provide everything you need to know about this smoker!
I'm using the Workhorse Pits 1975 Clear Coat Wagon Fully Loaded (Top Rack & Cowboy Firebox) with the Add-On Assisted Door in this review, but I'll discuss the casters model as well!
Thank you so much for watching, and big shoutout to everyone who supports my channel! 🙌 God bless and happy smoking! 🔥

What do you think of the new counterweight?
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great review and now enjoying your other videos. Thank you 😋😇👍
Wow thanks so much!! Really appreciate it!
I have the 1969 and love it! Good luck with the 1975. Looks fantastic!
Nice man! Love the 1969 and was really close to getting it instead!
Great in depth review of the cooker. I live in North Fla and have been eye balling the workhorse 1975 for a while now. Have been comparing to some of the pits you mentioned in this video but this has helped me decide the 1975 will be way to go. Keep up the good work
Awesome man! Really glad I could help. 🙌🏼
That new counterweight looks awesome. That was one of the things holding me back from buying the first version. I live in Ga, so shipping is way cheaper than any other smoker
Oh yeah, the shipping savings is huge for you! Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Appreciate you checking it out and commenting! 🙌🏼
Great review! Workhorse Pits is the king of the mountain. They got everything spot on. Especially the way it cooks.
@@williemakeit7185 thanks so much! They really did nail this one! 🙌🏼
Counterweight works!!! Yeah Definitely needed and looks Cool😊👍👍. Cowboy firebox is a must imho
Couldn't agree more. Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Mine is on the road; the counter weight wasn’t available when I ordered it but I’m not to worried; great review 👍
Thanks man! You’re gonna love that beast - counterweight or not!
What inch elbows for ball valve drain? Good idea 👍
@@tpharo34 they're 1" but someone recommended getting 45 degree so i'd probably do that instead so the grease dont build up in the horizontal part.
@@fattybuttsbbq okay makes sense
I have the 1975t as said above mine doesn’t have the counter weight either. But I really don’t need it so it doesn’t bother me. But I’m glad I got the trailer I take mine every and sell it and do pop ups. Mines already paid for its self and then some
The wagon is a beauty! Makes a ton of sense with pop ups. Kind of kicking myself for not getting it but at this point I’ll buy a trailer for $1k and roll it on with these big wagon wheels. Haha
@@fattybuttsbbq lol I don’t blame you brother. Kinda like the counter weight deal I would have got it had it been the option. But I’ve been lifting it now for 8 months roughly. No reason to worry about it now. Nice video keep up the good work brother
Be careful with those 2 90 on the drain. Probably will build up in horizontal section. Maybe do a 45 degree
Didn’t even know they made 45!
Did you get their cover? I can’t remember if you said or not and if so, does it work with stack up? In all the pictures of the cover the stack is down. I was just curious. I would keep my stack up and would want to cover it.
I didn’t. It’s back ordered for a few months and I wanted one where I could keep the stack up so I ordered a custom one. Should be here in 2 weeks and I’ll post a short of it to see if it’s worth it.
@@fattybuttsbbq awesome thank you brother I stumbled across the website where I could order a custom one too but the pits not delivered yet and I wasn’t sure about a couple measurements so I’m gonna hold tight lol can’t wait to see your video. Hopefully it works out. Perfect. Appreciate you!

Nice man! Appreciate it! Up in Maine right now so as close as I’m getting to Canada for a while. Haha
Id love a comparison of how much better is 1975 food vs the g2. Im sure the 1975 is better. But is it worth teice the price? How much easier to run, hols temps, got a good bark? The air flow is so good on the 1975 im aure the bark is better, but how much better?
I don’t think you’re going to notice a bit difference in the bbq that comes off of them. The g2 is a solid smoker that uses similar size wood, has great draw, and maintains heat well. This is just much larger and more of a beast.
I'm glad I built my own .not only was it $1500 for a 150 gallon pit but that also included a welder, plasma cutter and all the steel to build another pit. Possibly a 250
I’m in process of building mine now, I got metal free from work, Ive already built the cart, I may have $300 in it when I’m done, i really only had to buy wheels(scrap yard) and new thermometers. It’s too easy to just copy a design. Plus I’m building in my company’s shop, they have all hoists and tools
Any scoops or baffles?
Not 100% sure if they consider it a baffle, but there's a welded on plate that's angled down right above the firebox that looks like a small baffle. Does a great job without moving the hotspot towards the middle of the cooking grate.
@@fattybuttsbbq Thanks!!
@@fattybuttsbbqthat is a grease catch to catch grease from rolling back into the firebox.
@@tpharo34I was referring to the plate on the top of the firebox not the bottom.
@@fattybuttsbbq ohh okay i f they did that’s great slow down the radiant heat
