The whole French community is asking for French Faction since day 1 of the FF Mod. Owi doesn't seems to care.
Took them 2 years to adapt the Aussies though...
@@GORANJOVIC631 I bet it has more to do with the license things. You need permissions from all modders and make sure they didn't use any 3d files or textures they didn't have the permission to use. It is way easier to make a mod than to make official content to a game. Mods can use 3d files from other games and sources where as with a a commercial game you need to make sure they can have it in a game with a commercial license.
@@R3BootYourMind not necessarily true, a mod still NEEDS licenses for copyrighted material, however, they aren't selling it, so typically they get away with it for many months.
@@R3BootYourMind OWI should roll up the sleeves and do it themselfs...... didnt they sold Squad as game that would get alot of new content over time? Where is that content? Im not satisfied with pace things are moving last few years. They even have enough assets in game already that can be used to create basic German faction. Do we have Leo 2 in game? Yes... Do vi have MAN trucks in game? Yes... Do we have NH90 in game? Yes... Do we have TOW and Milan in game? Yes... Marder can use Bradley's physic and demage model while Mowag Eagle can use M-ATV's etc etc... basically they dont have to spend much time to create German faction... just put new uniform skinns, create few gun models and reskin some vehicles. Same goes for French faction. Things can be expended and new vehicles and capabilities added later.
Getting Bundeswehr and the French Foreign Legion added into vanilla would be awesome.
They need finaly to fix this anoying RPGs unloading bug at first
3:30 "SPz" is an abbreviation for "Schützenpanzer" which basically just is an IFV
that just translates to "troop tank" right?

Panzer can also be used for armored vehicle in general (panzer=armor). So APC and IFV are both the same in German, Spz. In the literal sense APC is actually a more fitting translation as in Spz is not defined whether the vehicle is actually used in the IFV role or just a battle taxi.
Same counts for "Panzerhaubitze" which means basically "armored self propelled howitzer" and has nothing to do with a typical tank. And actually, Panzer is a short version of Panzerkampfwagen (armored combat vehicle) but is barely used since ww2.
@@madrooky1398 According to german doctrine, a Spz will basically always be an IFV rather and an APC because of its role as giving fire support to the dismounted infantry. The only troops that really use battlefield-taxis are the Jäger, because they‘re designed as light infantry that fights mainly on foot.

most of the vehicle sights in the bundeswehr mod are abysmal. the only vehicle that has a roughly accurate sight is the mg3 turret on the dingo. the boxer ifv, leopard and the boxer/dingo with .50 cal all are misaligned

I really hope that Offworld gets the Bundeswehr mod and French mod incorporated into Squad officially!
This way they could have their internal faction team focus on REDFOR like Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela.
We could use more nonconventional factions like a cartel faction from South America or an African rebel group. But since we just got WPMC it is more likely they will introduce some European/Asian blufor militaries next.
@ African rebels would fit right in if the French are added with their ‘Douentza’ map that is set in Mail.

@@cripple9860thats not the reskin, thats the vanilla reticle. It lacks aiming points for anything below 200 m. We will have this fixed with the next Beta Tests

Actually APC and IFV, in Spz there is no distinction in the specific role.
the best thing about this mod is if it is actually added to the main game, the boxer assets can also be used for the much needed british overhaul

Red 5/Blue 2 works VERY well! This round was fantastic fun. The tank.. uh, 'encounter' on the dam was hilarious ;D New factions are fun and all that, but this looks GOOD. Really hope it gets made official!

Probably a reference to Operation Jubilee but possibly a town in actual Manicouagan, Quebec that was established before WWII, taking the name of the French city (as colonials often did).
However, on a war game channel, MoiDawg, I’d recommend you familiarize yourself with the ill-fated Dieppe raid in WWII. It was kind of a big deal, especially to Canadians.

Imo France for sure. Would have the most new stuff. Famas, Leclercs, amx-10s, so much cool stuff. Not to mention France has more international military ops than even America in the last 20 years. They have interests in or have fought in Europe, middle east, north Africa, subsuharan Africa, south America and Afghanistan. Their different branches would all bring unique flavors and equipment, Army, airborne, marines, French foreign legion, etc. The only place they would really be out of place is the pacific. jsdf would be cool too though I wouldn't complain

Nordics. You’d have ak5 (fn fnc i think?), the HK416, CV90 ifv, the Sisu apc, the Patria Pasi, i dunno, Archer artillery maybe? They could hang out on Harju, Skorpo, Narva, maybe Yeho, Fools Road, Mestia and Goro as well?
Personally South Africa. But assuming we are getting more asian maps in the near future, Japan would be good.

Context: Ja and Jawohl both mean yes and while you almost only use yes in civillian life, saying it in the bundeswehr is a quick and easy way to get flamed by your instructor, especially in basic training

3:50 SPz just stands for Schützenpanzer, it's the exact same thing like BMP. (At least the meaning of the name, also the German BMPs were called SPz)
Or for English speaking people, it's just IFV in German.
More closer to APC, IFV is an English specific role distinction. Fuchs is an Spz too but not an IFV.

Those are "Panzergrenadiere" - mechanized infantry, that accompanies tank units and who are trained to work together with them cloesly.

I want the devs to spread the flags further apart so the whole map can be used and not dead in so many areas
The point of RAAS is to use only a part of the map in a single session. The other areas will be played the next time you play the same map on RAAS.
All you would do is slow down the game a lot and create a much higher emphasis on transport vehicles rather than giving Infantry the option to just run to the next point. I feel like you would enjoy territories if you wanna use up the whole map.
The Bundeswehr looked pretty professional in how they moved in this match. GG.

Marksman riffle of Germany is the G28 not the G3. The G3 is a little bit too old even for the Bundeswehr😂 but the G3 was invented by germany during the days of the cold war. Just a little extra detail ;)
They do still use the G3 marksman variant and its also in the mod. The mod has both G3 and G28 but only the G3 was in the video

@@ifelauchi4243 Stimmt nicht, denn das G3 wird weiterhin in geringer Stückzahl verwendet. Mir bekannt ist ein relativ aktuelles Video auf dem offiziellen Bundeswehr-TH-camkanal von einem G3SG1, welches ein Soldat der EFP Litauen verwendet.
Das G3 auf dem SL Kit habe ich auch nicht verstanden, es gibt aber wohl einen Fotobeweis von einem Gruppenführer der Jägertruppe, der es noch mit sich führt. Ich persönlich hätte das G3 trotzdem nur als DMR-Variante in den Waffenpool der Mod mit aufgenommen, da aber anscheinend weiterhin die Möglichkeit in der Truppe besteht, die Restbestände noch zu verwenden, hat sich das Mod-Team dazu entschlossen, dass der sich der SL auch G3 mit ZF auswählen kann.

Some of the MTB's have really odd bore offsets on the sights when fighting a close range battle like that. It takes some time with the vehicle to get used to the amount you need to miss on purpose to hit.

I hope that they add some of the older stuff too like the Marder, Leopard 2A4, pzh2000 and M113 mortar
The m113 mortar will be added simply because Germany has not developed a newer replacement. Likewise the older fuchs will be coming since Germany has not made a newer amphibious apc. The devs see no reason to add unnecessary old equipment that already has replacements so I would not expect any older Leo or the marder. And pzh would never happen simply because howitzers are out of the scale of the game.

I've had the former happen to me, and I was rather sent into a rage than feeling any kind of shock. This because to the bullet came from my room mate's rifle, a pathetic excuse of a soldier who did not know how to operate the safety on his rifle, despite this naturally being repeated ad nauseam by our officers when at the range.
Come to think about it, I'm kind of shocked right now though, because I faced no consequences or clap back for screaming at our Staff Sergeant for not immediately taking his gun and throwing him out of the range. On the one hand, it was obviously _far_ from appropriate for a Private to both scream at a Staff Sargeant, _and_ to tell him how to do his job. On the other, though, despite me dedicating a part of my screamings about how it was nothing but a miracle that I still had all ten toes, perhaps he too realised that, judging by my room mate's level of [in]competency, the real miracle was that I still had all of my brain.
Maybe he found my rage relatable.
the machinegun on the Leopard 2 looked to be an FN MAG and not an MG3
I’m curious though about the choice of vehicles. Sure, dingo and boxer make sense as vehicles for the Bundeswehr, but I felt like the Puma as the main IFV was kind of missing. Is it a balancing thing in terms of the types of vehicles each team needs?

Saying that the PLA ZBL is weaker is a crazyyy take. Each ZBL carries two ATGMs and a rapid firing 30mm cannon, and don't forget the driver camera. Easily one of, if not the best IFVs in the game.
It could be considered the best, but you have to remember that the ZBL with the Red Arrows is also an ammo rack on wheels. All it takes is one HAT, tank shot, or even a few shots from another IFV to ammo rack it.
ZBL has the widest turning radius of all the IFV's. It turns like a train.
@@FeliksTheWoof That's really only side armor, but it's pretty much a better bmp-2M. You hit the Tow on the first start of the engagement, and switch to your cannon and finish the vehicle off in 1-2 seconds.

Edit: I've just noticed. The magazine of the G36 is actually emptying while firing. Thats a neat detail. Loved the G36 in my time in the Bundeswehr.

@@samay5902 In game play terms Turkiye is considered Neutral as opposed to blufor, which is why the matchup can happen. I would not expect Poland to be added as a neutral state.

Spz=APC (IFV is an English specific role distinction which does no exist that way in German terminology)

@martenerlebach7682 You are missing the point, the closest literal translation is APC, the German terminology has no direct counterpart for IFV. If you say the Boxer 30mm is an IFV that is absolutely correct, but from a pure linguistic standpoint the translation of Spz is APC. Nowhere in Schützenpanzer is a meaning hinting at an active fire support role.
