    Another cool little camera to look out for Ali, is the Fujifilm e-900. It's a compact camera from 2006. Has the Fujifilm Super CCD sensor, Sharp Len's, and above all it has a small (very small) built-in viewfinder. Nice retro looking too. I paid £8 for mine! Regards Dan.

      Thank you Dan! I do in fact have the E900 though I haven’t shot with it nearly enough. Thanks for the inspiration to pick it up and exercise it!

    Thanks Ali - it's a great day when one of your video reviews lands. Your thoughts on this digicam are fascinating. Amazing how much you are able pick up in 2 weeks of using each camera. Enjoy Prague - such a beautiful city!

    So many great little early digiicams out there on the cheap. Pentax was really on top of things.

    If you have dead or hot/stuck pixels in a camera, look for a menu option for "Pixel Mapping" (Olympus, FujiFilm, Pentax, Nikon, really new Sony cameras) or "Pixel Refresh" (Panasonic) to automatically map them out. Different manufacturers added this to their cameras at wildly different times.

    This was my first digital camera bought in Adelaide in 2005 to go travelling as i soon ran out of space for all the 35mm film!! Loved it, and still pick it up from time to time. The macro feature is crazy you can get soooo close.

    This was my first decent digital camera which I bought in 2005 and used especially for travelling in Australia in 2006. It was a neat looking camera, almost retro, produced great colours and was a joy to use. Sadly, the zoom mechanism broke after a few years but I still have it sitting on a shelf.

    You have to visit the Jan Pazdera camera shop in Prague. The most amazing camera store in Europe. Foto Skoda on the same street is a great place as well.

    Hi Ali,
    Could you inform me please, if you know where the 750Z can be bought, because I have not been able to find it in UK or on eBay UK and worldwide? Really appreciate your work in your videos, and please keep it up.

    04:37 just for clarification. First compact prosumer camera with 24mm wide angle lens was released in 2007. It was Ricoh GX100. A superb camera with 24-72mm lens and b&w jpegs.

      Very true. It just wasn't all that common from my memory on consumer compacts until a bit later.

    haha...after posting a few of my old DP1 New York shots on Insta, I pulled out my OG DP1 (yes, I have the DP1M now too)...and I forgot how TINY it is. The manual focus wheel is still one of the best...Funny, maybe the most "iconic" OMTC image (the stove) is with a camera that didn't give you romance :P

  • @dokugohikken8769
    @dokugohikken8769 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh, THE Digital Zoom Spotmeter camera! The minimum focus distance at the telephoto end is also very nice.... Suppose you have two batteries. When you change the MAIN battery, I think you need to do so within 10 seconds. No, I am not talking about the internal battery, but the main battery.

    • @OneMonthTwoCameras
      @OneMonthTwoCameras  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes that makes sense.

    • @dokugohikken8769
      @dokugohikken8769 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OneMonthTwoCameras In that sense, we can say the design of Canon Powershot Pro 1 is excellent. (The coin battery...) Having said that though, the telephoto close up capability of Pentax 750Z is absolutely fantastic....

      I took quite a few as I had it a bit longer than some of the other cameras I reviewed. I also really wanted to bid with it but it didn’t totally click. But I do love the results.

    As you mentioned correctly this camera has indeed an internal battery holding the user settings (much Like other cameras which hold the Date there so you have to set it everytime you are turning it on). But dont bother changing these... It was a grim time doing so ;).

  • @karmagroovy
    @karmagroovy ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It's funny how we sometimes can't pinpoint why we like or dislike a particular camera. The 750Z is not a particularly attractive looking digicam... that would be enough for me not to take it out of the house regardless of its features/performance. I know, shallow but true.

      I choose a lot of cameras based on their external design. Not all, but most. An appealing design aesthetic is important to me.

    • @OneMonthTwoCameras
      @OneMonthTwoCameras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. I have to say I am on the opposite side of the spectrum - I typically could care less what the camera looks like. If anything, the weirder the better :P

    I guess maybe, juuuuust maybe.... the Pentax 750Z may be too consistent. I mean the camera may give us consistent results every time we shoot... And maybe we may not be able to tell, oh, yeah, this is the photo taken with the Pentax 750Z.... The image quality is good, but nothing unique. Some cameras deliver, hmmmmm, that's it? really? kinda sorta image quality most of the time. But those cameras time to time give us wow!!!! pictures. And for some unknown reasons, we love those inconsistent cameras/lenses (eh, say, some Panasonic Leica lenses).
