Brit here who lives in the diaspora. This show was quite literally a part of my childhood, and I'm so happy that children get to experience this, and that now adults get to experience it, again.
Well, if that doesnae hit ye right in the feels! I grew up with this show and though this makes me feel old, the fact that it's coming back for a whole new generation of children just warms my Scottish heart.
Childhood restored. This show returning 20 years later might open the floodgates for other older CBeebies shows popping up again too. Imagine the revival of Brum, ZingZillas, Abney and Teal, Waybuloo, Mister Maker, the list is endless!
This was one of my favourite childhood shows growing up, I can't wait to see what they do with the new series next year, I love Archie's song Great Inventions, Groovy Solutions, possibly the best song in the whole series, but looking forward to the reboot, wow! what else can 2026 bring 😊
I had completely forgotten about balamory until I saw one of those nostalgia videos and I just thought, do I know this? Then it all came flooding back😢
i loved that show cant wait to see the reboot i went to Tobermory one of the years because of the show and now it is finally getting a reboot hopefully they make it as close to the original as possible

It was cancelled if I remember right that they had so many episodes that they thought the viewers wouldn’t notice that their repeat episode was a repeat. Are they still showing the original if so maybe the viewers might get confused. Mixing old and new as a child was annoying as you might get used to a version of something like Teenage Hero Turtles 🐢 and then get to see another version with a different style and approaches to characters. Defo my favourite version of Turtles 🐢 was the Fred Wolf late 80’s early 90’s version.

I wouldn’t say I’m not intrigued but Balamory was one of those shows that really didn’t stick with me. As opposed to Teletubbies, Tweenies, Bob the Builder, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, Noddy etc. But hearing the theme again and seeing the main 8 characters did bring back memories.
You should do more of these old classic Cbeebies programs. I do remember these programs like Balamory. There are some programs like Big Cook Little Cook has a new version. It is great to see some programs coming back.

Man...I remember seeing this show during my late pre-school years, but I don't remember liking it that much, other than the theme song which I have a feeling is gonna be stuck in my head for a while now.
I think now that he has established himself as a well-known figure in UK entertainment, he can come back to Balamory, and parents would be fine! (As long as they don't take kids to his comedy routines lmao)
My kids watched Balamory. I like to think Archie, after the end of the series, became a mad scientist and invented a death ray. Made of yoghurt pots. Then he went on a rampage in Riverseafingal...
Balamory was a great TV show when I was a kid waking up in the morning eating your breakfast and getting ready for school. Many people would say the same thing. I just hope they don’t make it bad that would be horrible, but we just got to wait and see but I find it still crazy. It is coming back to TV.😳
I was enjoying this till the terrifying bugs from my childhood popped up on the telly lol but the new balamory wouldn’t be the same as 2002 💔 especially without Mary Riggins
I very much doubt that Miles Jupp will come back after those standup incidents. Can't have Balamory without Archie, but I'm pretty sure Miles would be a bit sceptical. Gotta keep Spencer too.
