Best way to test... All "vanilla" roles and duties (i.e. choose the role/duty with the least hard-coded instructions). Then traits would be the main driver of player behavior (or at least how they execute what they think they need to do at that moment). I know for some positions, there's no "blank slate" roles. But maybe something like this for the outfielders: 2 AFs 1 AM 3 CM 1 DM 3 Defenders (seems like most of them have just 1 forced instruction, at least in FM23) Or heck, COMPLETELY blank slate. Minimal role instructions hard-coded, no team instructions, no custom player instructions, no traits.
That was my thought too, either try to have as many “Blank” roles as possible to lean into the traits, OR, put the players into roles where the hard coded instructions are in line with their traits
Just a future video idea: How about tactics where the goal is to get the most out of a singel player, may it be goals, assists or something like tackles. For example for someone like Harry Kane to replicate a 40 goals season in FM.
Love this. Always wondered how it would work because I feel it would be closer to real life, but never tried it myself because I personally wasn't prepared to spend a number of seasons putting such a team together. So thanks for doing it and all your other content is great!
Thanks for the video! I have to admit, I didn't expect you to actually take up my suggestion😅. I appreciate it, and keep up the great work with this content!😁
Great video Can you try create the most pressing tactic? I’m thinking defenders on stopper, ball winning midfielders, defensive wingers and pressing forwards. Maybe a 3-4-3
This once again proves to me that team instructions are meant to be used sparingly and when trying to nudge your team towards a certain playstyle. Player movement/role in combination with their attributes and traits is way more impactful. You can have zero instructions but as long as the roles provide correct movement, you can achieve success. You really start to see this stuff more when you watch on full game instead of extended highlights.
Interesting video, but I think it would have been more effect to have the players set as their basic roles. For instance, fullback rather than wing back.
Great video as always! Like you said, I wonder how much the roles have to do with this. It would be interesting if you tried it again but just used basic centre mids, basic centre backs etc...
i like the video idea, just not the way its done. it makes more sense to have identical players (that you create) with the correct traits for one season, then simulate again with the traits removed. building a world class team removes some of the conclusion for me in proving that player traits are as definitive as originally claimed.
Trying to instigate change.. Myself included. It just appears that it's accepted that tackle harder - get stuck in etc is the games preferred way this edition

This reminds me of ancelotti relationisms' style of play. Just let the quality of the players find an attacking solution.
There definitely seems to be something in that method for FM too

I know I can't pronounce Theate and probably Libero but here we are ❤
I can't even spell Kvaratskhelia and here we are.
And maybe Atalanta ;) but i dont mind and love Your vids
@tomekkaminski2677 when you've been recording for a few hours straight Atalanta turns into atlanta sometimes

Thank you for the suggestion 🫡
This is a good idea. I guess it could apply well to an enganche. A riquelme type where the whole team is set up to accommodate him

This was THE video I was waiting for.

killers balls really a game breaking trait !

Would like to see an updated data recruitment/moneyball vid! Loved the FM22 one with Guido Carillo
Munstermann already has that market sealed up lol
Would be fun w Stinger
As said in the replies go watch Munstermann. He does it far far better than I could
@StingerNeilD already a fan. Class person too!
This was the inevitability I didn’t think of lol
this is brilliant 👍
Do it again, but with position that have the fewest hard-coded instructions
Never thought of gets into opposition area trait for Libero.
Interesting that you "don't want them to jump into tackles recklessly", yet usually always set "get stuck in".

What happens if you play with two Volentes and two Mezzalas lol paired wirh a DLF or F9
ancelotti would be proud
Full killer balls team all on direct passing?
Team Killerrrr
Basically this + gegenpress = success
This is cool.
