'Te Pouhere Kōrero Volume 10' Book Launch (Highlights)

'The future of history is Māori.' - Aroha Harris
'Te Pouhere Kōrero 10' focuses on the new history curricula launched across all schools in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2023. A number of Pouhere historians have been involved in this process as advisors, writers and developers. The editors of this volume had a particular engagement throughout, and other contributors bring significant expertise in different areas, from knowledge in place-based pedagogy and iwi approaches to the teaching of the past, citizenship education and Te Tiriti.
This journal was launched at the National Library of New Zealand on Tuesday 28 March 2023. The launch was hosted by Te Pouhere Kōrero and the Judith Binney Trust and speakers included Paul Diamond, Damon Salesa, Aroha Harris, Peter Meihana, Arini Loader and Rawinia Higgins.
