    Carpet tiles are such a smart solution for a basement floor. These tiles with the thick pile and padding are better than the tiles I knew. Your black painted ceiling impresses me every time you show it. So beautiful and unique.

    When we finally get to the basement in our entire home remodel, I am going to be so glad you showed us the carpet tiles. I also, will be using them. So smart. The entire space looks great, and it will be so fun knowing where you are in your new home studio. Well done to you and your wife.

    Thanks for the video. I went with the same trafficmaster carpet tiles. I had actually purchased click-lock rigid vinyl tile for the basement. I found out that my basement slab was way out of square. Was gonna be very expensive to try and level the floor. Sold vinyl flooring on Facebook and went with the Trafficmaster carpet squares from the Cheapo Depot.

    Its been a year. How do they stand up? How much does it help insulate? We have an unfinished basement but i want to make an area into a play room

      Great! There has been a tad of shedding, but I nothing out of the ordinary. The floors don't feel cold to walk on because of the padding. Pretty pleased overall!

    Are these carpet tiles moisture resistant or did you have to put down a moisture barrier?

    • @jackfrost9151
      @jackfrost9151 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Typically a moisture barrier is needed to prevent mold growth. Placing pill-and-stick directly onto the concrete floor is pretty much asking for problems.

    What was the brand of tiles?

  • @bigdogkropp
    @bigdogkropp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    We had a painted, exposed basement ceiling. The sound coming upstairs from the kids playing video games in the basement was unbearable. Put in double layered of drywall separated by green accoustical glue and it's much better. Also the drywall acts as a fire barrier if there is ever a fire.

    Love your videos. You are always asking for suggestions for paint colors to review.
    How about reviewing Benjamin Moore Harwood Putty CW-5 part of the Williamsburg Collection.
    It reminds of Steam but a little more depth? Not as stark?
    I read somewhere that it was a good alternative to White Dove if you do not have a well lit room.
    It is supposed to mimic lime wash. And not be as shadowy as White Dove might be in a room that has odd light.
    Love your new house & basement studio. Thank you.

      Do you think carpet tiles like that would work in a bathroom?

    • @thepaintpeople
      @thepaintpeople  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lutherthecollie I wouldn’t recommend carpeting in the bathroom, no. Too much opportunity for mold/mildew growth from the moisture. Sure would be cozy on the toes though! 😂

    Carpet tiles are THE BEST if you have pets! If the hairballs (I’m looking at you, Tashi Massey) get to be too much, you can pull up the tile and wash it.

      Yes! To me it looks like the prices per square foot are about the same as regular carpet, but I guess where you save the money is by installing them yourself.
