Beautiful grinder, so cool, so wonderful, so exciting, looking forward to your review on it plus your family’s take on it. I like it a lot, looks fun to use, beautiful espresso machine and grinder set up.
Eureka Mignon LIbra fills that criteria, it does have smaller burrs but also the grinder is smaller. I have the Mahlkonig E65GBW but that is a different category altogether. Nice new setup though
I run a hopper fed grinder with darker coffee for the family at home (Eclipse) and use a single dose grinder for me and also for decaf. I tend to run 2-3 bags of coffee a week (smaller 10 ounce bags of beans) simply because I like to try different things. For that single dose is a must. Honestly, I'm typically using my J-Ultra for such an occasion though. My morning coffee is normally with the hopper fed grinder as I like a longer drink in the morning (about 90ml americano) but in the afternoon I like a lungo (4:1) and in the early evening a cortado made with a double ristretto. It is too hard, for me, to swap back and forth with settings on the Eureka for different ratios let alone different coffees so having two grinders is a must.
The point is that both single dose and hopper fed have a place in my household too!
Thanks for the video!
Hoon the reason for a single dose coffee grinder is that there are no left over grounds left in the grinder, so you have fresh coffee every single time, unlike a grinder with a hopper on it which was intended for commercial use originally.
I completely agree with you. I prefer a single dose, but since this is a family grinder, freshness is not a big deal. They mostly drink lattes or Americanos
@@tomjohnson4681 Usually it's around couple grams, we do cappuccinos in the morning so it's not that important anyway but nothing beats convenience and quick time of grinder with built in scale.
@@HoonsCoffee ok i understand.
@tomjohnson4681 Hoon knows what single dose grinders are for, he's probably tried grinders you haven't even heard of
I don’t think a single-dose grinder is always necessary, especially if the grinder with the hopper has minimal retention. You can actually single-dose with it too.
Hoon, have you tried grinding for filter coffee? I understand this is one of the better espresso grinders that's also excellent for drip, pourover, french press, moka, etc.
Great video Hoon!
Hope that you and your family enjoy the setup :)
Small question, did you make sure that the displayed weight is accurate?
it is pretty accurate.
Which is best for espresso niche or df64
You're late to the game😉, I have this grinder for almost 2 years and it's great, very easy to use, quick to open and clean, very well made, scale is pretty accurate, I had few good grinders before but this one will stay for a long time, and talking about lasting long time the burrs are Dark-T they'll last forever in home setting, enjoy!
I know.
I think any family will prefer superautomatic machine single button latte, and you play with enthusiast toys
Hi Hoon. As you know Ive been looking for a gbw grinder and was wondering if this grinder has the anti-static mesh in it. Have you looked?
So far no static issue.
@ just wondering if it’s in the grinder? This anti static mesh.
how bout an island block in your kitchen …….
This is a fantastic grinder but not for home use. What’s wrong with niche zero? A lot cheaper, a million times more beautiful and did i mention it’s cheaper?
Eureka Libra! $800 gbw 55mm
Or Libra 65 AP $900 gbw 65mm
@@Leeroi132 Eureka libra built is like a toy compared to this grinder. I had Eureka Atom 65 and Allground sense is a better quality grinder.
