I believe free speech is the most important thing we have, but 230 needs to be ammended to only apply to less prominent businesses

You can't just decide that just because someone is more successful then you that they should have different laws.
Besides, its pointless anyway, the market can and will provide competitive solution as it has always done, stop being so impatient.

That law is what makes the internet the internet. If they get rid of it'll be very stiff and like a dictatorship. Free speech is important
A water guy. - No the comment makes sense. Under Article 230 social media platforms can’t be held legally responsible for what their users post. If TH-cam gets sued every time someone uploads childporn or something which is probably every day considering how many people use it, it will not last at all. This applies to all social media sites and others, if someone uploads something illegal and gets sued for it, Twitter or whatever they uploaded to would also be held legally responsible, and would probably be fined thousands or millions of dollars every day. That’s not sustainable. We need either article 230 to remain or for these companies to move out of the US if we want them to stay running.
@@SoshJam they are forced to remove dangerous information or explicit content otherwise they'll get sued. Not that they will be sued every single time.
Ping Doof the Great - Yeah, but if it’s repealed they have the possibility to be sued regardless of whether or not it gets removed, because they will be legally responsible for what gets uploaded to the site.

section 230 is important, but I`d argue to change it, so that only a platform that doesn`t cencor free speech will be applicable, and the ones that do will not be protected by this law.
remember, hate speech is still free speech. You should let the person talk, and he will show the world how stupid he actually is.

TH-cam and similar websites should let the user choose what level of censorship they want similar to google search, so they can legally see what they want, but not see what they dont want, without depriving others from legally seeing what they want.
