    I'm working 2 work from home jobs now in finance and i love it. I figure I'm spending about 6 hours a day between both jobs so when i retire in a few years i will just drop 1 of those jobs and keep the other permanently and maybe work from the beach instead. Who needs social security when you can retire on full pay.

    Cities will reinvent themselves, the city office is a thing of the past now as we live in a global, digitally connected work. What's the point of going into the office? Especially if you can do the job at home and spend more time with your family and friends.

    • @angry-white-men
      @angry-white-men 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Online Complainer Problem with that is when they call you back into the office, not if, people will now be forced to sell their homes in the middle of nowhere and who knows if it will be a good enough economy then. They may be stuck paying 2 mortgages for who knows how long, it's a gamble.

      Or convert these high rises into grand homeless shelters if the socialist cities are serious about solving the homeless crises they been parading in front of everybody else (as a way to justify more taxes) before Covid 19 hits. Now here's their chance with falling rents and mega spaces opening to let the world know how 'progressive' they are. Heck maybe there is a room (with its own bathroom & kitchenette or just a bar fridge) for each person in these high rises.

    You are looking this from middle aged parents' perspective. Of course they want to move away from the city because they have already a group of people to hang out with in their family. But there are more and more those who don't want kids or even a live in partner and they are mostly staying in cities to hang out with friends. Also, people who need the culture and entertainment or just are social, are going to stay in the cities. People working from home have even more incentive to go to bars, movies and other places after work because they have been at home all the time. Maybe they can make more time for friends. There will be less traffic jams because everyone moves around when they want and not all at once. People working from home will need more food delivery services.

    Company offices will never disappear. They are still needed for employees and managers to come in for very important meetings or to go over important documents that cannot be done over webcam or phone call meetings. However, many company offices definitely will reduce their space to save rent money and since many of their employees are working from home more often and only come into the office sometimes.

    Does permanent work from home also mean your home can be anywhere, or does your employer still require you to stay in your state? Are you required to even tell your company you moved out of state during a permanent WFH?

    • @Sean-kg2gr
      @Sean-kg2gr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My company’s rule is you have to live within 100 miles of your home office, like where you would go if you were to go in to the office. But if you’re high up enough it doesn’t matter, you can do what you want.

      @@myothercarisadelorean8957 I don’t know. I live in Kentucky and have never relocated. It probably just depends on your company. I could see it going both ways. I just hope all these companies letting everyone work from home aren’t going to use this as an excuse to pay their employees less.

    North Carolina is kinda getting fucked over by that. People from higher wage states like New York are moving here with their New York wage work from home jobs and buying up all the houses before the locals can get one and driving up housing costs to where the locals working for North Carolina wages can’t afford one.

    joining a private club for networking as no one bothers to network when WFH. Utterly redicilous. I do triple more work in the office yet i wont get paid any extra. The employees wont return. So cant wait for job where i get to go to an office and be paid for what i earnt in my qualifications.

    This COVID-19 pandemic seems to have created a period of diversification! Or the possibility of "trials and testing" for organisations to decide on whether to implement certain features into their business model, from the trialling and testing.
    It's been a full calendar year, which organisations have been able to gather the results of "working from home"
