Seeing the Accra Turf Club's Race Course brought tears to my eyes! My late Dad, Mr. Emmanuel Jellicoe Quaye, was then the Tote Manager of the Race Course. 20 years later he became the Chairman of the Accra Turf Club!

yes .the Accra turf club was a pride of West Africa .sadly it's no more .I'm using my daughter's account .my name is mark anthony mansour .after your late father and his friends ogosu amah french kudjoe. and others like wuashie idun a w mills heward mills and kitson mills among others justice e n p sowah ...all of blessed memory I was elected a steward on the board of stewards of the Accra turf club and was first in charge of the tote among others then I became vice chairman later and I wept bitterly when it was closed down 4 years for the nam conference centre and so I organised a delegation and led it to meet face to face with j j rawlings to appeal for it's return to Accra Accra turf club and we succeeded.i was the leading horse owner with as many as 52 horses .my horses son don the derby twice .I opposed the govt of kuffuor for throwing us out to build the kempiski hotel which could have easily been built somewhere else. but my opposition could not withstand the 600 strong policemen who were sent to forcefully throw us and our horses out.the then govt through it's land dept caused all unexpired term of Accra turf club lease documents to vanish with abetment of our own corrupt late members badger and the late agyeman chairman and others like addo and so on .yes the downfall of Accra turf club was a victim of a corrupt few who played game with kuffuor govt. the relocation promise was also full of lies and a land around motorway was given to Accra turf club with some mediocre horse stalls and a highly unprofessional race track nothing to compare with what was Accra turf club.a property worth not less than 5o million dollars was exchanged for something not even up to 50000usd yes fifty thousand usd .big disgrace .my heart still weeps. pity .

Mr. Heward-Mills whose horse won the Horse Race Cup was a prominent Accra Lawyer and thoroughbred horse owner. The top jockeys at the time were Kantara Kamara and Issah Alhassan.

These are some of the beautiful spectacles that caused Danquah and Akuffo Addo to do so much evil to Ghana thinking they were doing it to Nkrumah. The spotlight and grand recognitions Nkrumah had per these videos can never be erased till eternity. And when it comes to who brought modern day Ghana, it shall forever be Nkrumah by God.

It is! Morality was high. Discipline, love and respect were key. Ghanaians had a warm and a golden heart as their name depicted in those eras;the Gold Coast. Though wars and coups were predominant, life was super and it shan't be like that again till Jesus Christ our God comes back.
