Don't stress yourself Lyndy! The video looked fine! Nice job as always, very helpful! 🤘
Aw thanks Marty, you da best!🖤
Very informative.
Thank you Lyndy.
This is literally what I’m filming today!!!! What are the odds 🤣☺️😝 I ponied up and bought a better torch setup that will get hot enough months ago when I filmed my first attempts and just haven’t gotten around to it so I finally got started on it today!!! I’m aiming to blacken titanium though so they are different enough. Guess great minds think alike! Your videos keep getting better by the way, keep up the great work! 👊🏼☺️
😆🙌Twinning! I was planning on doing a heat blackening tutorial too haha that's awesome. Thanks man! I used to be super obsessive over lighting/quality, but I've learned it's best to just get the video out there as is otherwise I'll never post it😂
Sweet! This was helpful and entertaining thanks!
this IS...............ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY GUYS!!!!!!! Lol it seems like everything is just lives now lol I miss watching actual TH-cam videos tutorials if you will...... lighting is just perfect.......and man i miss you guys just doing how-to videos or just videos in general!!!!! Lol although probably nothing I'll be doing......ABSOLUTELY awesome knowledge!!!!!!!! Thanks
Thank you, Nick! More videos coming soon😊🙌
Great video! I haven't tried the water trick to cool the hardware down, I'll give it a go!😁
It works great!
Very cool technique. Great video 👍
Thx for the supply links
Cool and informative vid. Great mod for those just getting into it. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
Thanks Todd!🙌
Awesome tutorial, thanks! 🤘
Thanks for the tips 👍
This isn't anodizing. This is a much older technique used by watchmakers called heat bluing. Anodizing requires electricity... Google anode.
Thanks! I was familiar with the technique but I’ve been trying to figure out what it was called
@@_Michael_01 no problem. Watchmaking is something worth looking into because there's so many methods and techniques that would blow your mind. For example making raw steel outshine chrome.
Great video, Lyndy!!
Thanks, John!😊🙌
Soo can you also anodiz stainless steel with electricity?
Does a gas kitchen stove work? I do not want to spend money.
Can we do this on CR ? Or has to be SS ?
i clicked on it before you made it private somehow and watched it then lol
haha yeah I ended up just deleting it because of that, I forgot to remove that clip that was sped up so I uploaded it again
@@KnifeModders gotcha the sped up clip was kinda jarring 😂
@@danielwasused Yeah it was pretty bad😆
Does this only get bronze?
love these videos 😁
😊🙌
Will this work on polished stainless steel hardware?
Enjoyed 😎
Could I do this to my 20.5 pocket clip also?
Yeah definitely! Keep the torch moving so it heats evenly🙌
Great video Lyndy! But I have to ask, which of the gtx400 cards did you have? It looks like an upside down bumper sticker on the peg board.
😂I didn't even notice it was there. These benches belonged to Richie's dad once upon a time and he works with computers for a living. Why it was upside down, I have no idea😂
Can you also anodize steel the same way you did the titanium?
To use electrolysis to anodize stainless steel you need to use potassium hydroxide for the liquid
That’s blueing, anodizing is another process
Nice video though
So how do we get a black anodized finish on our steel parts?
I’m getting a blue black in my oven at 550 for an hour. The color continues to develop after it cools. I have a gas oven and the temperature probably overshoots as it preheats. I put it in a cold oven then set the temperature. 425 makes a nice bronze
I would like to anodize my Harley Frame
I previously heat anodized a pocket clip but rubbed up against something abrasive and some of the ano came off. Can I just re-heat anodize it or should I remove the rest of the coloring to start over?
Best bet would be to remove the ano and start over
@@KnifeModdersThanks, one more question though. it is a mirror polish clip so is there any chemical cleaners I can use to avoid having to sand it forever? Incase material is important it's a stock Spyderco para 3 clip
@@Tuxedosam. Anything that would remove it would etch/fog up finish the steel. If you have access to a buffing wheel and some compound that would remove the ano and keep the polish.
Hey , where are you ???!! ❤
Mam can make any ather madle ?sam titanum color?
😅I'm not sure what you're trying to say, typos
@@KnifeModders He's asking what colors you can make... and if it's the same range as typical titanium anodizing.
I haven't burned any steel lately, but it seems like it starts with amber, then brown, then purple, blue and black. Something like that, so not the same as titanium? I assume he's confused about electrolytic anodizing versus a torch.
Why are you so cool?
