I have been pleasantly surprised by how comfy this controller is given its overall shape. The buttons and sticks feel quality, and there have been improvements compared to the nitro deck. And they have some really cool designs to boot.
This controller seems a bit weird to me. It doesn't look substantially more portable than a regular controller, but it also doesn't look ergonomic enough to act as a main controller. It might be one of those things that I have to try in real life to really get it, but it doesn't seem like it fits into a real niche too well.
It looks cool, but I’m not interested in getting one. The lack of handles is a real deal breaker to me. It’s going to be a bit uncomfortable to hold this controller if you’re planning on playing a long gaming session.
If it’s anything like the 8bitDo Lite controller, it’s much more comfortable if you hold it like an old school NES controller. Less against your palms and more cradled in your fingers with the bottom corners nestled at the base of your pinkies. I love my 8bitDo Lite controller and wouldn’t mind having one of these if they were just a bit cheaper.
It's a retro controller inspired by the nes design...what do you expect? It's made far more ergonomic then it's inspiration. The Nes controller was literally a smooth plastic rectangle with sharp edges.
Not a fan of this company. I feel like they aim all their products towards Nintendo TH-camrs and go for looks rather than comfort. The ergonomics suck, they released a way better Deck only a few months later and had no discount for early adopters stuck with the old one, and that app just feels like a weird NFT collecting thing. Not to mention their customer service sucks and they don’t allow refunds or returns.
So what I’m getting here that you’re not an informed consumer and you’re mad at them for it? “A few months” is an exaggeration it was 9. U are seriously mad they fixed things that u were mad about? Ur wild bro. Why would they give u a discount just cus u bought a different product 😂😂 entitled much pal? They actually have very good customer service in my experience. Definitely feels like you’re looking to hate.
@@exocolt15 They announced the new one much earlier than 9 months so idk what your on about with that. Also what company doesn’t allow refunds on returned in box product. Its not like I requested it months after I had the product, it was the following day I received it (which by the way took 3 weeks for them to ship out due to them losing my order number). Notice how you say “in your experience”. Everyone’s experience is different, glad you had a good one, but for me it sucked and I’m sharing why it sucked. Don’t get so fucking defensive.
I pre ordered the original nitro deck that came out last year. I was seriously bummed about the right stick placement, its so uncomfortable. It sounds like similar issues continue on this controller. Not just stick placement but also input lag on switch. (Other youtubers talking about lag). Not trying to be mean, they really do look awesome and i wish they worked better for me.
What I found to be a red flag for me is that on the marketing, they were pushing that it was supposed to be limited collectibles (each different design). The whole point is basically for people to create their own collection on their service. It’s not NFTs cause it’s a physical thing you own and don’t need to connect to service, but at the same time, does hint at that this isn’t made to be a good controller first.
CRKD is interesting to me because so far their stuff seems great at first glance but the devil is in the details... Both these and their Nitrodeck I wanted to get, skipped them to wait for reviews, now feel like I made the right choice after watching videos like this. Weird. Seems like they have potential but not for me right now
LOL, "drawing inspiration from a sleek mobile design." Yea man I don't think anyone buying a god damn controller wants a MOBILE DESIGN. Look at thosed cramped ass buttons.
We appreciate the honest review Kevin!! Thank you!
it looks cool. I just bought a nitro deck and I love it
Love the popeart designs - the white and pink and green splat ones are incredible!
Why different layout than a "normal" grip on controller? @crkdgg

Those are wicked cool looking! 😮
You've got terrible taste
I ordered the Hell Boy one. Just liked the aesthetics.
I just got that one too!
So it’s basically a 8bitdo Lite 2 XL.
Nope
Interesting looking controller, perhaps not the best ergonomically but it does look like it'll be solid for classic games.
It is amazing how good old nintendo games still look ❤
It’s insane that the clear one is the least appealing one to me. That artwork one is awesome!
The A, B, X, Y button colors kill the clear one for me.

That first controller is very retro. I love it.

Yeah they need like something to place it in to add handles like you see sometimes for gameboy advance SP
It’s not designed for that.
KK 😂 is going down in history as the coolest gaming dude with so many controllers & accessories.
Can you review there latest one that is the Purple one that has Fortnite festival buttons to play

It's even more comfortable than the 8bitdo lite
That red beanie kinda makes Kev look like Mario.
If Mario was a hipster
Plus his moustache 😂🤣
I love the vibe of the control, it's giving slight 2ds
Those CRKD people have no understanding of what good ergonomics is
My exact same thoughts
That's a controller made for children.
Maybe ergonomics wasn't the objective on this project

Oh cool, the nontendo podcast guy is making his own content. Rad
why didn't you highight the well-known IMPORTANT issue of the lag on the joystick?
It's been fixed since last week with a firmware update
I just want a joy-con knock-off with a prominent D-pad and without ugly embellishments! 😂
Hori makes one

@@exocolt159 months it seems to me soon for a product that improves so many problems
You have a point, I doubt they actually expect anyone to use the controllers for more than a week before buying another one to collect

I wonder if it’s compatible with analogue devices like the Pocket when docked and with MiSter

I really wish they'd offer an alternative D-pad location for this, like the PS2 layout.
Same
I'm just wondering if you can use this on nintendo switch lite?
Can you feather the triggers for driving games?

Designs are cool but why the hell would you take a closed 3DS and turn it into a controller???
Add a few more 'gaming' controllers to the list of things I would NEVER buy
It looks like a 3ds xl with controller buttons on top 🤣
…charge your damn phone Kevin!!
these controllers look like complete ass lmfao
first bro

The nitro deck looks like a joke and so does this
Funny how people judge a book by its cover

I'm confused as to why this company is getting into Switch accessories now, little late to the game. And those controllers look like Ass
These guys think that peoples right thumbs are all tiny.
A bit too late lol
