    Really helpful video, just replaced my wiper motor and mechanism. I’m useless at mechanics but this made it easy. Top man

    Here's a tip if you're wipes pack up like mine did in Scotland , Rain X drove all the way back to the Midlands in crappy weather.
    Spray it on and drive like stink, well worth carrying a bottle

    Great video, thanks. I'm not sure about the background music. You always make excellent informative videos, but you don't need musak, that's for lifts.

    Excellent.
    Don’t suppose you ever had to fix, diagnose water in the driver’s footwell for the 225 TT?
    Danke

    Awesome. Well explained. Now there is less chance that I'll break something when removing the scuttle.
    I'm trying to figure out why carpet is getting wet on driver's side (RHD version if that matters) and apparently it might be caused by dirt/rubbish blocking the drains under there.

      @@indigoprime3663 Yeah, I found a lot of dirt and pine needles. However that was only part of an issue (if it was related at all). Mechanic was looking for a leak and didn't find anything on top part of the car, but he found that floor seal/plug thing was "pushed into" and was broken. He sealed it back. I'm still trying to figure out if that is all. The floor seems much drier, but I still see wet spot in the far right corner (near accelerator pedal), which seems to be bigger from time to time. If I don't manage to dry it when it's still warm outside, I'll probably visit mechanic in autumn again.

      If you pause at 3:55. And have a look at the plastic box which the wiring harness passes through (on the bottom left)
      My one was overtightened at some point so that box was cracked and not seating properly. Allowing lots of water to pass through. Ive superglued it back into shape and caked it in sealant and im 99% sure ive solved the problem. Only 2 10mm's holding it in. Maybe worth having a look. 👍✌

    If it were me, I'd change the motor itself, to the Golf one. You just need to modify the assembly arm.
    End result, faster wiper motion.
    A good, informative video, though.

    Cheeky request! if you're ever doing them -- could you do a clip about changing rear trailing arm bushes, please please. Can't any decent ones on TH-cam.

    Quite a common occurance in these is that in the motor housing there is a little thing that grounds it, that often comes lose and doesn't make a solid connection. If your wipers stop working first test them by running a cable from the motor body to the negative battery ground, if they then work you know its the ground inside the motor body, so take the plastic off the motor body and ground it again by adjusting the pin

    I have 2005 the wipers seemed slow so I removed made them, free moving after strip down - still rubbish, brand new motor and still same. That's when I realised rubbish wipers on tt.

    Biggest issue I have is the drivers blade not clearing the screen, tried new blades, still the same. Wipes off but then smears water back on

    • @BWSTT
      @BWSTT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is that on pre or post facelift arms?

    • @blakkno666
      @blakkno666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BWSTT I don't know to be honest, the car is 2000. I seem to remember when I first replaced the wipers not long after I got it that there was like I fin on them but they wouldn't transfer to the new ones. I guess they stopped the blade lifting?

    • @blakkno666
      @blakkno666 3 ปีที่แล้ว
